Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre reviews
47This is the second time in a couple of weeks that the gym is booked for a private function. It really affects my progress. What am I paying a membership for? !
Very nice place. It is very clean, spacious and comfortable. The pools are great: one 50m indoors and one 50m outdoors. Great for kids too with slides and baby pools. There is also a sauna by the way! The gym is great and friendly. The staff is mostly nice, there are sometimes a few arrogant ones ;-) but really quite ok compared to other gyms. One downside: it’s quite pricey.
Melbourne United has a store in the complex.variety of hoodies.caps.t-shirts.all great prices and the staff helpful and respectful. We are Melbourne so let's support! Go MelbourneUnited!
I enjoy how this place is clean and spacious. It is a well run centre with plenty of facilities to make it an easy experience to take children to (good parking) and for Adults to do their own thing of pool exercise or swimming laps. It is very popular with schools, but they are unable a separated section of the Centre which makes them non intrusive but we can still see them, but not hear them.
Overall I think it is a really great place, and staff well chose who are helpful and friendly.
Ok so this place is cool as!
I only checked out the swimming areas. There's a wave pool which is turned on once an hour or so (it was very fun), kiddy pool, swim lesson training area, 2m deep lap pool, diving pool which is 3m/5m deep (diving boards weren't open, but you could try asking staff). Sad thing was the giant slide doesn't open until 4pm - it was something I was looking forward to most. But this might change on the holidays
Showers/bathrooms are large. There are separate areas for toilets, showers and changerooms which were clean.
Wonder place! Plenty of classes in pool gym and wellness center - Wyser classes for older adults fantastic - parking and access to lockers for members - somewhat busy on school holidays and in summer time with school carnival and kids classes - some disruption during Grand Prix.
An amazing centre that is well maintained. A bit tricky to get to in peak hour traffic so if you are here for a competition allow plenty of travel time if travelling by car or team bus. Ample parking with all day rates available, at time of the review it was $12.50 for all day.
The facilities actual sporting facilities are very good.if I had to give any negative feedback it would be the distance you have to travel to the cafe to obtain any food and drink from the diving and outdoor pool area. Especially if you're only at the complex as a spectator you can't walk through the complex you need to walk right around the outside
2 x 50 m pools and one 25m and a wave pool. Usually pretty good but check lane availability and events calendar because there's a lot of swimming carnivals on.
Free multi-level parking if your visit is less than an hour! It's behind the outdoor pool. I used to get sucked in and pay to park next to the driving range.
Easy parking, ok staff (hit and miss when asking for help or assistant) if looking to play bball (would need to check website before going; great site).
Best swimming pools in Melbourne. Also has pretty good table tennis, badminton and basketball sports facilities.
Awesome place for the kids. Wave pool with life gaurds all around waterslide. Family change rooms spotless. Only bummer was that the diving boards were closed.
Expect to pay premium for parking and lockers as well as entry, showers have great water pressure but were SO SO dirty. Plenty of facilities though, no hydrotherapy pool? Mixed experience, but the convenient location means they can probably get away with all that
Management, management, management. Great facility but poorly managed. Today at 2.30pm the front desk had 2 computers engaged with patrons and I has to wait as there was no way to generate a pool ticket. Only 2 computers at the main desk.
I've been coming here for the squash courts with friends a couple times now and the place is well polished, courts are well lit, and the staff are friendly. Never had a problem booking a court, and there are heaps.
It was ok, the water slide needs to be done up because it scratches your back as you go down and the dive boards need to be open more often
MSAAC is fun for little kids with wave pool, water slide and the swimming lessons are great with only 1 other child in my 3yr old son's class.
Very good infra. A tad bit on the higher side in terms of charge, but worth try for locals and once for beginners.
Very poorly run centre by Neanderthal management. Anti-community decisions on parking costs (ridiculous), stupid decions forcing payment for court entry by credit card only, equipment in disrepair. Centre would rather spend tens of 1000's of dollars on landscaping than replace defective basketball rings. Basketball lighting is scandalous in lack of maintenance of defective lights (not to mention the chance of being maimed/killed by falling lights!). Hopeless. Sack the entire board / Management team!
