Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre reviews
47Very disappointed with MSAC service. I had made a booking for squash on Tuesday the 23rd of January for that night at 6: 50am for 6pm. Unfortunately circumstances changed and had to cancel and hoping to reschedule to the same time on Thursday. I cancelled the booking at 7: 08am, not even 20 minutes after. Then contacted support, who told me I was not able to reschedule as it was cancelled within 24 hours and I had to pay a new fee. Considering I was a regular customer and it was no money lost to them you would think it would be easy to reschedule. After this I attempted to communicate my concern all to get no reply in return. Last time I will use MSAC services.
Excellent sports complex for playing a variety of sports like badminton, table tennis, basketball, swimming and many more.
Great facility. The swim centre and racquet courts are to notch. I rate it down because of the expensive parking. 1 hour free is not enough and it then costs $11 for parking.
Came for lots of swimming events that were held here. State of the art facilities, coaches, training, clean, and with a view. Wish our area have half of facility half as good as this place.
The downside is as there is only 1 cafe here (smaller stand inside). Everything is expensive here, and no cash is accepted.
Amazing Facilities. BUT. Swim School appalling with no consistency of teachers and attitude coming from the coordination team - they are more interested in defending themselves rather than taking on constructive feedback. Worst coffee and cafes too which make the early mornings for kids sports even tougher - staff just look at you confused whilst you wait to be served.
Great Facilities from the many pools in and out doors, spas, steam room, sauna and modern gym. It’s all well laid out. Just a touch on the expensive side and costumer service could use some work.
Absolutely horrible service - their customer service is absolutely useless. Think twice about joining the MSAC facility as I have heard every excuse in the book and not one apology for addressing the issue.
There were weeks and weeks without single covid case in Melbourne and Melbourne sports centre was still limiting pool access to one hours and no spa while other pools were back to operating normally.
The kid's will love this. Great for all ages my child learnt how to swim in the babe and toddler section. What was really amazing that the floor of the toddler and baby section risk to their needs and lowered in there needs. Amazing
Wave pool was my daughter favourite and lifesavers always on board.
There are cafe that caidas nutritional healthy foods and something for the kids.
The only thing I would say the wasn't very big for such a big place.
Wemt for a friend's game today, the place is good, had parking space issues. The Cafe is good over here but there's a long waiting line to order.
When will MSAC stop acting like a budget Airline, closing of 25M, Sauna & Spa facilities at 8pm (ie these facilities use to be open until 10pm) ?
Members & casual visitors are paying full price for a Budget offering
The staff are unhelpful, the website is appalling and most of the disabled car parking is now blocked due to works - I'll be going elsewhere.
Good pool, good swim school but they need at least one more pool there as carnivals, swimming training and swim school all on at once just leaves you with the wave pool to have a recreational swim in. Nowadays the waves have been turned down so no chance of bodysurfing. Also, what happened to the Flow rider. That was awesome.
First time there, with, Ballarat swiming club, found the toilets very tidy and clean, a well done, sonething that you dont get very often, hey!
Can't use the cash anymore makes it inconvenience sometimes. Casual visits is bit pricey. And parking is restricted as well.
Went to the Spa, Sauna, hydrotherapy pool.
HYDROTHERAPY POOL @34° was closed.
The better half was in the shower and knocked herself on the individual female shower. See photo.
She hit her elbow, on the shower cubicle.
Large welt, bruising etc.
Thanks to the staff, ice was supplied with a first aid kit on hand. To reduce swelling.
Using the RICE principle, Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
In discussions with the first aider,
To her surprise the male showers are open 5 showers. Rugby locker type room style. Not individual showers,
like Sandra's female showers.
Is privacy a female issue?
Not enough people to answer the phone. I saw a cleaner having a piss with his gloves on! He then went straight back to cleaning, without washing his hands/gloves. Major EEEEWWW! So much for infection control. Obviously the staff training is poor.
Have you ever wonderd what it was like to live in East Germany circa 1964? Well wonder no more. Come to MSAC, where you will experience all the thrilling and suspenseful atmosphere of the cold war era communist regime.
Firstly there are 1000001 rules which you may or may not be familiar with and consequently the chances of you being sternly spoken to by the lifeguards or staff members is extremely high! And even if you are standing stock still trying to avoid the attention of the commessariat, you are still likely to be questioned about potential rule infractions by the fun police.
At least you will be as safe as in a maximum security prison!
Awesome!
Cancelled membership in person in February 2020, as soon as lockdown was raised direct debits started again. After second cancellation request via email a further direct debit was taken due to what they call "billing cycles". At a time when there's a pandemic there was no understanding of membership services. I total of $211.55 was taken from my account with $0 reimbursement and an explanation of "this is what I've been told, it is what it is". Extremely disappointing.
The diving pool is closed to the public and has been for far too long. The management is out of touch with a risk appetite that is too low. They closed the waterslide suddenly with no warning and have no plans to reopen and you can't use the diving boards anymore. Whats the point of having all that space for the slide and diving if it is being wasted?
