Just reading the reviews here. I went for a hair treatment in their salon as well and I have now a permanent hair damage as well. A student used the wrong product and 3 students were practicing at the same time for the same treatment on my hair. I paid $65 for a treatment that I usually pay $150 for it however, now I’m stuck with non reversible hair damage. I would never recommend this place for anyone.

The place to be! The early childhood teaching department is the best, outstanding service and professionalism.

Student advisor named Meredith was fed up with her job, nasty and condescending. Hostile representatives like her will surely push away a lot of prospective students. Melbourne Polytechnic Preston Campus has lost me - a potential student, thanks to Meredith's "wonderful" conduct! Keep up the "great" work, Meredith. If these are the kind of people that this school hires, I won't waste my time and money here.

Admin staffs were very nice specially Eloise! All education providers need staff members like her! Apart from minor issues with one short tempered trainer I surely enjoyed studying there!

The place is neat and tidy and the staff is very nice and helpful. The corridors are well-maintained and information and directions are easy to be understood.

I did a workplace/online traineeship while studying for a cert 3 and have been waiting for my certificate to come for four months. Post office tells me MP has it, MP tells me the post office has it. At the end of the day I just wasted a year of my life doing a traineeship for 17 an hour at 24 to end up with no certificate. Massive disappointment and deeply upsetting. Was also sent an email by mistake of my teachers speaking inappropriately about me, will find out how to post screen shots soon. Horrible online learning website and everyone is terrible at helping you. The campus might be better but you’d be better off doing anything else in the world than studying with Melbourne Polytechnic online, you’ll end up without a qualification even if you complete it.

A mixed bag. Studying I. T.area, some of the lecturers had excellent knowledge and were very approachable, but one I couldn't understand at all because their English was so poor. All lecturers were polite and nice and would always make time for students though, and most seemed to genuinely care. Internet often didn't work, plus frequent other I. T.issues causing frustration.

The admin staff were extremely disorganized, zero communication between departments, messages don't get passed on etc, and I was given poor advice when enrolling.

In terms of bullying there also seemed to be some problems, all the mature aged students were polite but some younger students were just rude, arrogant, low quality people, makes it less pleasant to study there. Unsure if I will return for future study, considering other options.

I have been coming to this campus for the past 6 years of my life. Long story short i did Enjoy it but at the same time over those years i have been studying i have seen this TAFE go from Okay standards to poor Standards.the teachers almost never keep's track of what is going on in the classroom and that they have slowly lost faith in there students. One other big problem i have noticed is a bit of lack in discipline in some classes that i have personally been part of. And some students get lead off more easy then others. The Enrollment center stuff our at sometimes not the most helpful or kind when it comes to enrollment.and for the last straw the food in the canteen has gone down in quality sense i began at this campus 6 years ago i even got food poising once or twice from the canteen. Take it from me go to another campus.or better go to university.

I studied below and I lost my 500 hours that the government gave me, when I was sick and when I had surgery and I wanted to give the medical certificate to the teacher she said no it's ok while I lost my hours without a certificate. I regret so much to have gone to this school teachers that I had they taught as if they do not like what they do. I did not learn anything

Very disappointed to talk to them, I wanted to attend for TAE course, they are advertising in their website for July intake! Then you call them and hear it's full! I asked to get in touch with the course coordinator due to personal circumstances and having special need child.they did n't bother to talk to me! I met our local member of parliament easily but the course coordinator did n't have time and care to talk on the phone.

Don't ruin your career. You don't get value according to the price. Should be in top of 'world's worst college' list. Don't know how to train students. Seriously either go to cheap college so that both edu and cost is minimum or go to uni where u can get better education. But don't waste your money here where education quality is least and fees are as high as eureka in terms of education quality.

This, by far, is the WORST 'institute' I've ever even heard of. My advice to anyone who prospectively would like to attend Melbourne Polytechnic, is to run. The staff in the Health department are extremely inferior, especially the "head" of the department, in teaching and have absolutely no problem in abusing the people who pay their wages. If you want to be immediately dismissed, yelled at, be told conflicting information (which is dependant on you graduating) or be abandoned by your 'teacher' during a fire drill, then this is the place for you! Its also a great place to be continuously bullied (with more than one teachers knowledge and head of health department) and all they do is sweet F.all.
If you're a disabled person, you can expect to run late whilst waiting for the lift, as all staff use it 100% of the time, especially in case of a fire! While they aren't wheeling a trolley or have any supplies to take up with them. While being perfectly abled and abled enough to RUN up stairs, let alone struggle to walk up them. It makes a disabled person feel that their disability means nothing as they also take able bodied students with them (*cough* favouritism). Doesn't seem very 'equal opportunity' at all.
The place does have a way to submit complaints, just not how to deal with them, as you'll be waiting anywhere from 2-16 weeks in receiving a response, if any at all. The only thing of any consistency is the favouritism for certain students in said class.
Even on here, the "owner" only replies to flattering reviews, just like the complaint department, which isn't even there every day.
If you want an example of Melbourne Polytechnic and the people "running" it, I was told to attend a day by the head teacher, which then resulted in my time being wasted for 4 hours and then being told to go home. This cost me in excess of $80 travelling to and from MP. I doubt ill get a resolution, let alone compensation for something that I was told to attend due to attendance reasons and then all of a sudden, when its up to them, attendance isn't of utmost importance considering I then got turned away, from a course that I pay and make sure these so called teachers have an income. Above all else, even if you get kicked out of half your classes, you’ll still pay for all initial units in full Modern day theft is a great defining of Melbourne polytechnic but then again, all the above is as well.
I personally think the ‘teachers’ are extremely biased, especially against those who may have disabilities.

Management is incompetent at best and constantly promise things they can't deliver. Complaints submitted online don't give a response. Over enrolled the diploma of Community services, leaving classes without teachers, online resources and assessments written in a rush and are filled with errors. Classes squashed in rooms with lack of tables and chairs, which your then sent on a chase to hunt down in other rooms, or classrooms that have broken or inadequate resources. Heading into the last week of term and for one module we have not a proper class for. Course is breaching it's Acwa accreditation.

Absolutely terrible place. A place where people just get brushed off and forgotten about, not to mention down right abandoned. I’ve had problems with pretty intense bullying, which causes problems in so many areas and affects ones personal life, studies, ect.
Wouldn’t recommend going here. I used to thing places like Kangan were worse but they’re much, much better.

I had an IELTS test today at this test centre. I did also IELTS tests previously in different places in Melbourne. Well this place is very nice and well organized and prepared. The other thing is that the staff (Invigilator) were so helpful and humble to make it a relaxed and friendly environment. In particular, there is one lovely lady her name is Jolly and a nice man his name is Andrew. IELTS test usually is stressful task. But with these guys, it was really a wonderful experience. Another man was seatting in registration room for speaking part, he was friendly and start to chat with everyone to give them a positive energy and break the ice to make everyone feel comfortable. Thank you all for being such nice people in this difficult situation.

I don't recommend this school and advise people to choose somewhere else or don't sign up at all. I regret ever having signed up with this school.
The enrollment/interview/sign up process was ridiculous and unorganized, And I was sure things would get better from there. Things only got worse.

Teachers were very rude and spoke down to students, they didn't seem to want to help and when a student asked a question they would belittle them. I also had an awful interview experience and was made to feel like I wasn't worth their time and was spoken to like trash.

Everything in class felt rushed and slightly unorganized, right from day 1. Should have been a big red flag.
Their are just too many bad things to say about this school and I hoped for better.
Please save yourself time, money, and heartache and don't choose this school.

I spent a good 3 hours going through their enrolment process for the Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing only to be told today that the course has been cancelled for the month of February 2018.
To add salt to the wound, they then tell me that it has been postponed to April 2018 but couldn't commit that the course would in fact commence then as it would be dependent on the number of applicants.
I paid for this course in full so now I have to wait for a refund until I can apply at a different college.
I should add that part and parcel of the enrolment process included a competency test and mundane induction by the lecturers.
What I don't understand is why they put applicants through these processes, expect them to commit to the course when they will not in return commit to running the course in the first place.
Poor administration and really poor form to expect applicants to wait indefinitely for when they decide to run a course.
I will be bringing this up with Consumer Affairs as they should be stricken off the record as recognized course providers for being so unreliable.
Fortunately, they are not the only providers for the course that I have applied for and after this experience, I have most certainly lost faith in their abilities to provide adequate learning in a professional field when they run their course so unprofessionally.
Melbourne Polytechnic - Your Learning and Career Partner?
I don't think so!

Update: 21st March 2018.
I rang the number as suggested by the poster below and nobody knew what I was talking about so I got hand balled from one department to the next until I decided that I had had enough and hung up.
The inefficient bureaucracy never ceases to amaze me.
If you want to speak to me, then I suggest you call me because quite frankly, my time is valuable and I don't enjoy wasting it speaking to people who have no idea with what's going on.

Very good school, I can recommend hospitality faculty in Preston campus. Teachers are very helpful and willing. Good equipment and facilities.
