Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands reviews
53Five night mid winter stay. Excellent pool, spa & sauna. Rooms well laid out. Luxe bedding. Room service food could be improved. The staff were all friendly. Would love to come stay again for a weekend.
Wanted to try something new. The pool was amazing with a beautiful view of the city.
Breakfast however ruined my morning, I asked for a large mocha served warm and received it boiling hot, the cup sizes are the same, which I was disappointed to receive what it appeared to be a medium however was a large… Would recommend going else where to eat.
My room didn’t provide any plastic bags for rubbish, not sure if they provide bags but I had female sanitary items…
Nice comfy room in the heart of Docklands. Easy access to trams to get in the CBD plus right next to Harbourtown for some shopping and food. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was exceptional.one of the best eggs Benedict's I've eaten (and I've had a few!)
I had the double deluxe room for a night, which Cost $380 & a additional $100 deposit so $480 all together.
I was charged $385.70 the night of the stay which I didn't realise until now. Now 2 days later an extra $480 has come out of my account.
I've rang reception & all I was told is that's completely normal. The money will be back in 5 to 10 business days depending on who you bank with.if I knew $865.70 was going to be taken out of my account for a one night stay, I would've stayed somewhere worth that amount.
Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands opened in 2021 during the pandemic and is known for its very Instagrammable infinity pool.
I arrived early at 900am and the hotel was running full but I still received a decent room to check-in and M Club privileges as a Platinum Bonvoy member. Cindy, Michelle, Patrick and the Breakfast Chef at M Club Lounge were gracious and most hospitable hosts, and the food & beverage offerings at M Club is generous. Despite the 4C winter temperatures, there is no way I’m not going to take a dip in the pool.
Look no further on where to stay if you are a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member or of a higher tier status.
Highly recommended Hotel
Relaxed vibe, great coffee, lovely staff, perfect for work meeting. Can't wait to enjoy the infinity pool.
Very Clean Amenities
Good fitness centre, Brilliant Pool overlooking the Docklands,
Buffet breakfast was good but
Food and Drink is a little pricey.
Robert and the rest of the staff run a very professional and comfortable hotel. This was a last minute trip booking and I’ll admit I was nervous because it was so new however It felt as though this team had been running the hotel for years.
The room was spacious and very well finished.
The facilities -
the hotel gym, it’s not your standard hotel gym with 2 machines, it’s great for an extended stay plenty of equipment and all functioning
- Pool and rooftop bar was great, glass of champagne in the afternoon watching the sunset over the city.
This will be my regular when coming back to Melbourne.
Excellent Staff and attention to detail.
Harrison who looked after the function was just wonderful!
The cauliflower stake and the lemon butter that was served with onion bread were great. The barramundi was cooked to perfection but it was under seasoned. Overall had a great experience would definitely recommend.
Terrible bed and pillows. Nothing happening, but would maybe suffice for a lone traveller that just needs a bed to sleep. Can't sleep two in the bed. If one person moves the other will also.
So impressed and happy with the warm, professional, and dedicated service from cleaners, to servers, to porters, to kitchen and chef. Melbourne doesn't have that many if any resort style hotels. The new Marriot docklands made me feel like I could be anywhere in the world. The infinity pool and spa were perfect, and relaxing. If you didn't find me there, I was relaxing and doing some work in the M lounge or snoozing on my comfy bed and enjoying my room. The breakfast was generous and delicious except for one morning they didn't get it quite to standard but were happy to immediately correct the issue. The only things I would comment would be to clear away guests towels when they have left them there, and also the app requests and services don't seem to quite sync up real time to the service desk. Location is really great too. Woolies, liquor, food options or a quick tram ride into CBD.
Just very good all-round customer service. Really like the breakfast staff. Food was excellent.
We had the most amazing stay at Marriott Docklands 5/3/22. Champagne on arrival was such a welcoming touch, check in was a breeze. Rooms were much bigger than we expected and so clean and new. The pool and spa were as amazing as they looked in pics. The team at the sunset bar were so friendly and helpful and made me a special cocktail that I loved. The breakfast cooked to order was fabulous, the staff were so great. Thank you Can’t wait to come back
We recently stayed at the Marriott docklands and I can definitely say we won’t be returning.
The Instagram pics are so deceiving the pool
Is not the large infinity pool as per all the images. Much smaller and I mean much. But the temperature is warmer so nice touch. Rooms are average very business like. The actual beds and pillows are probably one of the worst I’ve slept on.
Pillows are of poor quality. Rooms are clean though and spacious.
We paid for a superior room and it didn’t feel superior at all. You pay extra for city views and I can assure you through the dirty glass there was no city view.
Service is probably one of the worst we have had. Although pool staff were nice.
We called room service to order dinner 7 calls later they finally answer I ask where the menu
Is he advises me on the tv as one of the channels.
I struggle to find the menu located as one of the channels on the tv. I call back for assistance no answer.
I call the front desk 5 times no answer. Finally they answer and advise me of staff shortages. I ask for a good local pizza shop since I can’t find the inroom dinning menu, once again not helpful at all and reply with “ pre Covid there were heaps now I’m not sure”
I understand all industries are struggling with staff shortages at the moment but maybe take
less guests so they can have an enjoyable experience. We as Melbournians have been directly impacted by lockdown so each little getaway means so much. We also require the tourism industry to help us get on our feet and with service this poor not sure Marriott is the right choice for anyone.
I understand it’s a new hotel but the basics weren’t even delivered on this occasion.
Upon checkout they don’t ask how your stay was probably because they know the answer they will get.
Stayed one night on a brief staycation. Even for one night, we loved our stay. Our hotel room was clean, although there were signs that the room could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly (found a false eyelash and hair pin on the floor), but I am willing to forgive this oversight. All hotel staff we encountered were friendly, professional and helpful. We spent a fair bit of time in the infinity pool. Most of the time we were there, the pool was relatively free of people. Even at 11am on a Sunday, we had the pool mostly to ourselves for a good hour or two. I really like that the hotel indicates the times during which the pool attendance tends to peak. We were mindful of that and managed to get quality time in the pool to ourselves by following the hotel's guidance on peak hours. The pool is not as small as some of the reviews make it out to be, but it is certainly not a lap pool. The adjacent spa is also divine. We spent some time in the M Club lounge which was also nice and modern. The fridge is always well-stocked. The outside terrace is also a really nice space. We had pre-dinner canapes there and there was a decent selection of food. The breakfast buffet is not too bad. There is a lady who can make eggs whichever way you like (except for fancy eggs like an eggs benny). Lastly, check-in and check-out was easy and breezy. Thanks for having us!
Extremely Dissappointed, booked 4 rooms for a night for my 21st. My room was under Manisha.
Firstly, I requested the same level room over a month before my booking day, and I got a room on a different level. Called them to change and they offered an accessible room which I took because I had no choice.
Shortly after, they lost my luggage. I waited about 40 minutes for them to locate it, and this made me late for my own yacht party.
Thirdly, after the stay, they charge my mate twice for his room and promised it would bounce back into his account.
Along with my $100 bond, which was refunded just under 2 weeks ago now, I still havnt recieved anything back into my account. I have called them twice and they keep saying 3-5 business days, well it's been almost 10 business days and still no refund.
Would not recommend staying here to be honest. I personally wouldn't come back.
I’m always impressed by outstanding hospitality. Thank you Soni for your professionalism and your positive outlook.
LOVED THIS PLACE! Would have to be the most modern, professional places I have stayed! And considering all the services that were provided to us, the price was a bargain!
Every room, every amenity seemed to be the best! Would most defsss be staying here again
We are here, the reception (at your service) asked us to come down to heat my meal, as I am on a diet plan.
Had to insist for someone to collect the bowl from my room. The phone to call is not in t he best condition. Call kept dropping.
