As I wasn’t able to find much information about canapé time at club lounge before we go, I decided to share here. Somehow they don’t allow me to post photos. Club lounge and bar are sharing a wall and a bar. Canapé time is from 17: 30 and 20: 30 but when we got there, not prepared yet. Not great booze, especially beer, not enough glasses and they just leave empty bottles on counter and rarely refilled.

We are staying in the hotel during the holiday season, the hotel have seen its better days, it did get renovates, and the room is old but comfortable enough, the main problem is their service, we arrived with no one attending the front desk for lets say a good 5 minutes because the only person in the front desk is attending another customer, and this is around 3-4 pm a prime time for check in, the concierge is close to useless if anything, try to ask him to change my restaurant reservation and all he did was telling me to do it myself, breakfast and the club lounge seems to never have enough cutlery, oh and club lounge although its newly renovated its pretty small and service is non existent, we have a chair next to us was flled with crumbs from the previous guest and the club lounge attendants was literally saw it and just tuck the chair under table as if she saw nothing, more than anything thats just gross. Some of the staff are lovely though but most of it just terrible, a staff during our breakfast was literally sighs and give us a look when we try to order omelet for breakfast, if theres a hotel in melbourne that shows they dont care trying to service their guests i would say Marriot Melbourne is number one on the list.

First time I stayed in Melbourne Marriott was like almost 5 years ago and with my current stay (October 23) I was nicely surprised about all the upgrades they did. Nice restaurant with pleasant staff and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs (vegan). Our room on nineth floor was very nice, super spacious with comfortable bed and good working space. All staff is very friendly, we had some very nice interactions with housekeeper Mary who engaged with us in nice chats, gave us some recommendations and when we saw her always asked if we need anything in the room.

The hotel has great location, with short walk to the Carlton Gardens, Melbourne Museum, and walkable distance to Fitzroy. Part of CBD so all accessible by walking or jumping on the free tram.

Good place to stay with nice friendly staff which always makes the stay more pleasant.

We had a pleasant stay at the Melbourne Marriott. The room was nice and big and the hotel is very well located, close to a lot of good restaurants in Chinatown and shopping arcades within walking distance. QVM is also walkable, takes around 20 minutes.

Although we arrived past midnight the night desk manager was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

My main criticisms, which are not too big, are that the water pressure in the shower was quite low and the club lounge, quite small and forlorn. It didn't seem to be serviced much and seemed a bit of an afterthought.

Fantastic hotel that matches other, more-expensive five-star hotels in Melbourne. Excellent service, rooms, amenities and services are great. Pool is big enough for laps, but also for families and kids to splash around. Spa is genuinely hot - not the hottest I've ever experienced, but great nevertheless. Sauna is also wonderful. Buffet breakfast temporarily suspended because of COVID-19 (damn you, Covid!), but some packages include one a la carte item with continental buffet breakfast. Packages are fantastic - look for valet parking, or two glasses of sparkling wine, depending. In-room dining rates are very reasonable. No room photos, as I've reviewed the rooms in the past - sorry. Loses a slight point as in-room coffee/tea facilities don't include hot chocolate, much to our son's disappointment. A minor thing. Definitely go and stay here!

Relaxation is the premium service provided here.

A warm and fragrant atmosphere for a luxurious inner city retreat.

The staff are professional, friendly and knowledgeable about customer affairs.

An on-site concierge can provide additional service to personal interest.

The facility is no less than a premium site from the dining, lodging, and available event rooms.

As a franchise hotel, Marriott is highly priced for quality of service in all states.

Exceptional service and friendly, attentive service.
This is our second stay here, and it didn't disappoint.
From the moment we pulled up into the little parking area (it is Exhibition St, after all), until our check-out, the service was ultra-friendly - talktative, genuinely interested and friendly.
Our room was fine - spacious and kitted out with the standard extras. Mini-bar has a standard range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and some light snacks.
Two robes, lockable safe, ironing board etc.
Heaps of Bibles (!), if that floats your boat.
Swimming pool: awesome. Measures around 10m x 6m (?) and has funky blue lights to give a special effect. The added pool noodles provide hours of fun for the kids. The spa is great as well, although it was being chemically treated this morning, so was off limits for us. It's as wide as the pool and quite deep. The only thing about it is that the bubbles turn of after around 10 minutes (or less). You just need to press the button beside the sauna door to turn on the bubbles again. Very soothing! As is the sauna.
The gym has usual equipment and some free weights. Free fruit as well! Great touch!
Breakfast buffet: it might seem smaller than others, but that's deceptive. It actually has as much as other hotels, and possibly even more. Usual hot fare of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon, fried tomatoes and chicken sausages (chippolatas). Made-to-order eggs, omelettes and pancakes. Waffles are pre-made. The chicken sausages were pretty bland and tasteless. Not sure what kind of meat was used for it - my impression was that they were very processed meat.
Vegetarian dumplings and rice congee also available, but not enough of the toppings. Really missed the spring onion for it, such that the congee was very plain.
Juices, cereals, a fresh juice machine, cold meats and bread and pastries. Made-to-order coffees etc. Little chocolates as a thank you, when paying. A very nice touch, which typifies the Marriott great service.
Family friendly. While it can be pricey, well worth it for a special getaway. Definitely recommend. Join the rewards program - linked to heaps of other hotel chains.

Amazing! Can't wait to come back again! Got this place for a fantastic rate at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ I like this resort and I'm really happy I stayed at my favorite hotel cheaper than what I usually pay.

Amazing buffet. Staff are very hospitable, Excellent valet service accessible to amazing night life restaurants, Chinatown, comedy nights! Stayed top floor worth the stay.

Great buffet breakfast. Very friendly front staff and an overall great local venue for a staycation. Maximized with pool and gym time. Pool change room could do with a bit of renovation.

The staff were incredibly helpful and really helped to make us feel special throughout our two night stay. We got a package deal with luxury escapes which included champagne on arrival and a bottle of champagne in the room.it was the perfect location and very close to China town and the theatre precinct. The room was Perfect for our family of 4. The breakfast was also really good.

We were happy with the hotel, the valet parking and the breakfast. The noise from the room next door wasn’t great and the walls were very thin.
We were disappointed to find out after our stay that we’d been charged a $12 credit card fee.this was never explained to us or mentioned when we used our credit card that they had on file. We wouldn’t have used the credit card if we had have been told about this fee.

Got a great deal for a night away to catch up with a friend. Good location and the room was fine however the breakfast while plentiful and a good assortment was all cold even the 'hot' food and the boiling water was warm. That was disappointing so wouldn't go back if l was paying full price or at least not have breakfast which is $39 all inclusive.

Great place to stay. The location is great and the staff is very kind and helpful, always going the extra mile for us. The only issue we had is with the provided cot for our 7 months old baby. It was one of those foldable travelling cots, but without a mattress it was too hard for our baby to sleep in. We ended up having the baby in the bed with us, which is not recommended. If you are travelling with a baby consider getting a portable bed system of your own.

We stayed there, last weekend
Rooms are not bad, but what takes precedence over is there service

Right from the guy who picked up our car for valet, to the room service (he provided) to the reception staff to the excellent staff during breakfast.
The guy who was leading them all was phenomenal and so was the staff.

For that service will always come back

Stayed here for a weekend with the wife and two kids. Service was great. There was a few issues with cleanliness of the room. But can't complain too much for the deal we got. Pool and spa was great. Nice and warm for the kids to have a splash. Lost my son's glasses but as soon as we mentioned this too the team. 30 mins later they were found. We will definitely be back for another weekend getaway.

For a hotel in that magnitude I would expect new bed mattresses and them not adding on a piece of wood under it that would make it more firm. Other then that, the hotel was a 3 star establishment.

We ecently celebrated our 10th anniversary here. Our room was on the 9th floor and it was very spacious and beautiful. Management and staff were wonderful as they surprised us with champagne and cheese/meat platter on arrival.
The staff were extremely helpful and professional. We were always greeted cheerfully!
Dinner was delightful but small portions which is normal for fine dining.
This is one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. Thank you to all at the Marriott Melbourne. We will try to stay here more often.
