Melbourne Cup Carnival reviews
34 Melbourne Cup Day, is it worth the gamble?
A great season of racing at Flemington Racecourse.win or lose.
Tipster is not worth the gamble.
Get the gambler advice from people, that put the money on the race themselves, or be a lone wolf in the research, and determination to win.
This is one of the classic scenes of the Melbourne, annual events.
Decent experience, nothing special.crowds of people line up to see the racehorses, meaning that unless you squeeze your way through like a fly, you'll never be able to see anything.horse riding itself is not cruel.it's a wonderful sport.the way that racehorses are TREATED is cruel.

What, a great week of racing at Flemington Racecourse.win or lose.
Tipster export, not worth the gamble.

Note: Activist's are unpleasant people, who know nothing of the investment, or sponsorship given to a celebrity or a professional standing horse (investment, upto A$1 million, estimate).
Activist's publish a review without attendance (off-topic).
Very cruel sport at animals expense, privileged white alcoholics and low class people come together at this event to get drunk while horses suffer and die every year. Shameful this is still around in 2022
It is not about animal rights ok, these horses are given food and the best healthcare their whole life. Stop giving it one star cause you feel for the horses just shut up.
The greatest race of them all! I attended in 2009 and had one of the best days of my life on and off the track. Lifelong memories and I met my wife there. Amazing to see all the reviewers on here putting their 1st review on this wonderful race track. Thanks for the support.
People saying it's inhumane and cruel etc clearly don't have a clue the care these horses are given, greyhounds also. Nor have they ever watched a race I speculate. If they had they would see the determination in the horses eyes, they know what's up and want to win just as much as the humans betting on them
I do not understand why we need to be fired up for Horse Racing. It has no significance to the Culture of Melbourne in itself. I am no PETA supporter and I have heard horses have died in the past because of mistreatment that is being burdened by profit. I am just thankful that it is the day where we have the day off.
I couldn’t understand why thousands of people choose to gamble for an animal in one certain day.
We pretend that these horses are our heros by calling them 'Legends' and 'One of the Greats'.
We pretend to care about their welfare by putting them in million dollar stables.
But at the end of the day they're nothing more than a business investment.
Sometimes it goes well and we make lots of money.
Sometimes it doesn't go well, a horse breaks a leg and gets euthanized.
That's ok. We have plenty of money to buy another investment and see how it goes.
And the cycle continues.
For every horse that dies on track there are many more horses being slaughtered behind the scenes that weren't fast enough to bring in big money are inflate the Ego and let other people know how very extra special you are - at the expense of a life. Horses that have won millions of dollars for their owners are sent to slaughter after they stop performing. Some are used for breeding, but after they stop producing they are shipped off to slaughter.
Blood money.
Kind of like a one day version of Schoolies, but for "Adults", considering the shenanigans that happen. Only reason for the 2 stars is that I have to take annual leave on the Monday so I can have an extra long weekend.
Couldn't care less about the carnival itself.
Great event with such proud tradition - incredibly day out! I tend to avoid the gambling, however seeing the best of the best horse trainers and jockeys is what's it's all about!
In light of the horrific treatment and slaughter of retired racehorses, this so called sport should be cancelled immediately until the welfare of these noble animals can be guaranteed.
Great restaurant, the food was delicious. I love eating fresh horse.
Good prices, I paid for the horse with the money I earned off the horse winning the race. I ate the winning horse.
How blissfully naive some racegoers are? As for being reincarnated as a horse better hope it's a one in a million like Winx!
Horses get treated like princesses; chauffeured, pampered and they get to do what they love. Hope I come back as race horse in another life.
The horses are not treated right.it is horrible to watch them fall to their death. They are ran too young and if they dont win the end in slaughter (which is not fair because they can do plenty of things other than race young), this place needs to make sure that the people are treating their horses right before they go onto their track!
Love seeing the horses running-fit, strong, well-bred, at the top of their game! Beautiful athletes, existing to run!
Horrible event. Watch "Dominion" documentary (free on YouTube) to see what happens in horse racing and other animal industries.
