Girl Wasn't interested or very friendly.

Had a bit of an odd experience at the new Mecca store. One woman who was helping apply some foundation to my entire face I was testing out had her body so close to mine while she was applying it she literally was lightly resting her front body on mine, I did try shuffle back in my chair but she sort of didn’t notice I was trying to keep some personal space. She also started using her fingers across my face in between white sponges to rub in the foundation which I am unsure is standard makeup applying protocol. I felt this to be a little unhygienic (I can generally understand if your are just swatching a small area to the face this is totally appropriate, but it was a large area this occurred). During the experience, the foundation was also spread so far down my neck a little bit got onto the neck of my jumper. I promptly removed it with some makeup and did tell the woman and she she apologised.

While I can understand this woman had only intentions to help me find some makeup and was incredibly nice to me and helpful to me in her own way, she was way to close to my personal space and I felt a bit uncomfortable as well as her technique. I love Mecca and I will continue to shop there, it’s just important workers understand what does make shoppers feel uncomfortable or feel like they would want to leave rather than receive help or advice on makeup. It’s important to understand that while applying makeup to strangers faces, it is a given you are going to be in close proximity with them, but to please be conscious of not allowing any part of your body to touch a customers beside your hands to the face appropriately. As well as to be conscious of observing how you may be making them feel, as well as using your actual fingers as minimally as possible to the face, as strangers it is impossible to know how clean they are

Went there for the first time today and had an amazing experience. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They instantly got me hooked and showed me around. They were also happy to answer any questions that I had. It was lovely from the minute I entered till the very end. Cheers to the beautiful team. Much love. Keep up guys! <3

Disappointing that some staff here are so judgemental! Just because myself or another customer may not have a full face of makeup on doesn't mean we need a cheaper alternative, especially when I walked in asking for a specific product. RUDE! Products as always are amazing but I'd rather go to Eastland where I know I'll get amazing service.

Some of the rudest employees I’ve met.
They treat customers like we can’t afford the makeup, when in reality the staff can only afford it because they get free stuff for promotions. Classic beauty guru pushy sales people.

- my friend who is really beautiful went to Mecca for years and never had issues. This time we went to the glen store. The sales people sneered down at us and the asian lady said, oh so you want samples and won’t buy?

Next she said here are these much cheaper like half priced items.

Bi**h pls
We can afford half your store, don’t talk down to us because we were only wearing sweatpants and casual clothes.

I work in retail but truly appalled by their actions. One of them seemed quite racist and suggested my skin is too dark for the foundation range.

I’ll never visit that specific store again. Even their Christmas casual was friendlier than these long term employees such a shame

I had my make up done at this store in preparation for my engagement party last week. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel really comfortable, especially my make up artist. I was very happy with the end result and will definitely use them again in future. Thank you so much)

Just wanted to shout out to Sky who helped me immensely! Amazing service, honest and very genuine. She said it was her second day and I barely believed it with that level of service! Thanks:)
