McNamara's Irish Pub reviews
66Great pub, friendly staff, nice food.doing a great job considering the COVID situation.thank you.
We have been to Mac's many times in the past but it's been a while since we were last there.
Tonight we decided to get our dinner from there via their take-away option, (due to covid-19).
We were all very disappointed with the taste, the quality and the fact we had spent nearly $60 on such a meal.
P. S. It wasn't a case of it being affected by being take-away, it just wasn't nice.
Wonderful meals, reasonably priced & excellent service. There were 20 of us & would go back in a heart beat. Thankyou for a wonderful experience
Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
I'm bringing my whole family here when they visit from overseas, I just love this place
Lovely and friendly staff. Great live entertainment with a cosy atmosphere. The food service was slow, but the food was very nice.
Massively overrated pub. Waited an hour on a Monday afternoon to receive our meals. My 4 year old could have done a better job presenting the Guinness Pie. Ended up wrapping up my wife’s meal and I left the pie on the table uneaten. Tallarook and Lancefield hotels are far better options in the area.
Badly upset stomach after eating here. Meals brought to me and another family member about an hour after we had ordered. Steak Ordered by another diner on our table was undercooked. He asked to have it medium well cooked but was brought out virtually raw. Will never eat here again
It's just a pub meal and you order from the bar and buy your drinks over the bar. The food was average but nothing great. Service was good. Atmosphere was a bit cold.
Food very disappointing group of 8 meals under cooked no flavour salads bland chips soggy not the first time food had been bad here! Won’t be going back again
Me.
Monday night.
Very hungry.
Go to macs pub.
Try something different.
Get the special instead of the usual parma.
Order a scotch fillet chips n salad. $17.
$17 very well spent.
Chef is a GOD
Absolute winner.
Experience today was awful. Young children sitting at the bar, placing bets for parents, foul language by patrons with same children, bar tender involved in horse racing not patrons and made no comments about betting or foul language. We have visited many times as locals but will forgo our Guiness and not be returning or recommending. Lunch at the very busy Toobie pub prior to Mac's was wonderful and how a country pub should be.
The Guinness was strong and bitter. Wow, what a wonderful sensation. I think I was tipsy with just 3 schooners. Not sure what the alcohol level is, but it sure packs a punch. Live band is always welcomed in my book.
Mac's Pub served a great meal tonight. The entree and main were both excellent. Everyone at our table seemed happy, especially our 3 year old grandchild who loved the live music.
A good quality lunch with plenty to choose from for $15 with a pot of beer, how can you go wrong.
Service was good, it was busy so they were pushed.
Food not bad at all!
It was cold in the dining room, but brilliant eatm in the bar.
Good food and great live music every Friday and saturday we had fun here and food was great nice little family owned and friendly pub in Kilmore
Very basic bistro area. Could do with a massive makeover. Yes understand its a country style pub but there has to be a standard. Food was just o.k. However the desert was a lot to be desired. We ordered chocolate pudding something that really cant be stuffed up that much. Have a look at the photos I posted. The garnish was terrible. The strawberries looked like they had been recycled. Instead of a desert spoon we were given a teaspoon.
Just a top notch pub. Simple tasty menu and some cheery staff. Good for kid as it has a little play room to keep the them occupied. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a bite eat in Kilmore.
OK atomshere with Keno, TAB and pool table for entertainment, neither of the bargirls initially knew how to make a Kahlua and milk for my friend (only drink she really has) and then discovered they have no milk. Quick drink and left, dining area looked a bit stale.
