McNamara's Irish Pub reviews
66 I have been wanting to check this place out. Got pretty busy in bar area. Service at bar was great. Girls were friendly and honest when I asked about their menu.
I purposely chose something different to see how it was prepared hoping for an idea I could use at home. Marinara parmigiana, chicken Kiev and kids chicken nuggets and chips.
Kids nuggets are tasteless and made with beer batter. Blandest thing you could have.
Kiev I think had a lemon and seeded mustard going through it. Again unusual combo. Not quite right.
Marinara parmigiana was omg. I ended up eating 3 prawns, my salad and some chippies.
The schnitzel was disgusting. Whatever the sauce was ontop, unclear if cheese, garlic, honestly couldn't put my finger on it but it was not good. Entire schnitzel remained on plate.
Kids got their ice cream in bowls. And that was it. No spoons. No further service. Lucky I had my own spoons.
Anyways I don't like to bag out businesses but 84 bucks spent here not including drinks.
Atmosphere, bar staff and owner friendly. Casual environment not the cleanest or attractive but ok.
Shame as I was really looking forward to this meal.
The fish is perfect even the 4 year old ate a whole piece loved the music and the staff are great
When visiting Kilmore we always go to the Irish pub. Lunch meals are well priced, large and delicious. Staff are exceptional
Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Excellent country feel. Already booked again.
Very good pub meals here. The usual beers.
Beer garden out the back. No seniors menu. Steak was cooked exactly as ordered. No coffee machine but you can buy at either of the two close bakeries and bring it in.
The food was good, and it was a large serve, but the beer garden looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and the tables hadn't been wiped down for some time
Locals who come once a week, awesome food awesome atmosphere with country on in the back ground food is always on point and killers on tap in killers it’s a one stop shop
Great place for a meal and a few drinks. It's generally consistent and never fails to deliver. The only reason I gave the food 4 stars this time is because I tried the Mexican parma and although it was delicious, it tasted like a regular parma and not Mexican at all except for the sour cream on the side.
Came for a pub meal on the way home from the snow. Lucky it was open as The Royal Oak as closed. Old school pub with a nice open fire, pool table and solid pub food. The roast beef was a stand out, the chilli prawns not too bad, burger was huge but dry and a bit pedestrian. Only blight was that they mixed up one order and were a bit feisty about fixing it. Wasn’t great when it came out. Plus slapped down like we were annoying them. Shame as we might have come back if they seemed to appreciate our business.
Brilliant place to dine in or for a drink even both can take your family for a lovely meal
Delicious food.
First time here for dinner 13th April 2023 with my daughter & her soon to be husband n his family so 8 of us, ordered the entire entrée list bar 2 dishes, which were very filling, everyone had different dishes, Lamb Shank, Chicken Shnitizal, Vegetarian Lasagne, Steak Sandwich, Garlic Prawns, Chicken Parmigiano, Ozzy Shnitizal all dishes were generous in portion, had the old skool feel atmosphere
First time eating here and I've found my local pub. The food was amazing, porterhouse cooked to perfection the surf n turf on top was lovely, the prices were great! Highly recommend.
Newly arrived in Kilmore, have been there before, this is first time visiting as a local. Did not disappoint old time favourite about to become a regular visitor!
One of the best pubs I’ve been to. The staff were lovely, the environment was great, and the food was amazing. Highly recommend.
Had irish owners and staff, until recently, but they left, bought royal Oak hotel further up the street, now Australian owners, but same Irish menus, very good, average prices, but food is huge.
Thoroughly enjoyed the night. Great food, friendly people good service. Great place to stop and have a drink and meal.
The salmon was perfect. Had the calamari the next night and wish I didn't. Everyone else's meals were great I just chose the wrong thing, no lemon pepper flavour just crumbed and fried. Definitely will go back.
What a great pub. The publican is a bit strange but he is generally up for a laugh. Most of the staff are friendly and attentive but the pool table needs some work and more room. Can't you move those walls. Drinks reasonably priced. Great atmosphere on a Saturday night with lots of locals. Really enjoyed our night.
Great food and the Kilkenny was to die for, have been a few times now and will return, and I am from Heathcote
Very nice meal, just we were sitting in the bar and was very noisy. We even booked early that day, would've thought been put somewhere quieter
