Matthew Flinders Hotel

Plenty of parking available. After checking in with the QR code, I ordered Rump steak medium/well with chips and salad and plain gravy. The service was quick and the meal reasonably priced. The steak was perfectly cooked the chips were crispy on the outside and soft inside. I was completely satisfied. The menu included seniors meals and also kids meals. I would recommend Mathew Flinders for a great pub meal and service at good prices.

Disappointing, smallest 'seniors' parma we have ever had compared to the other 6 hotels we often visit for a 'seniors' parma lunch in the Oakleigh/Mulgrave area, chicken fillet was small, a little over half the size of our normal parma lunch although nothing wrong with the parma itself. They had ran out of house chardonnay and carlton draught on tap. Gave it a try for a change but will stick to our other regular pubs which are better value.

Went here for a friend's birthday. Food was good. Steaks were a little dry and they're could of been more chips and salad with it. Parmas could be bigger too with more sides added on to make it a bigger serving. The hotel itself is massive. Great facilities with a bowling alley and arcade for the kids. It does seem it is in need of a refurbishment though. I know with covid that would of been too hard though. Great place to meet friends and family though for a meal and a few drinks.

Waited about an hour for food, went up and asked how much longer and felt like they just said a random time to satisfy me.it was a wednesday and wasn’t that busy, friendly staff but the time wait was disappointing.

The food was actually quite good this time. Last time I was here food was subpar to say the least.

Went to the bistro for a meal. Meals are a bit basic, but very large, service was good and friendly.

Food was ok, meat was very undercooked.
We had a cockroach walking on our table.
Service was horrible, very disrespectful staff especially one girl named Darcy.
We also waited 15 minutes to be served at the bar.
Will not be going back there again and will not recommend it.

Great for the kids but thats where it ended not even a good pub meal. Ordered mix grill the only edible part was the chicken fillet piece and the egg the rest was over cooked and dry. For a venue with pokies and kids playground I would have expected far better qualiry of food and also a more interesting menu. Maybe also a bit of training on making your staff enjoy their work.

Staff was confused regarding sitting arrangements. They sat us but also wanted us to move but then changed their mind.
There weren't a lot of people around as it was a weekday late lunchtime, but the food took pretty long to come out.
Prices were ok. Parma on special was $20, and the cider was $9 for a bottle.

I attended on New Years Eve the Bistros was understaffed, however my meal was good.
Security kicked me and my friend out of the Gold Chisel show, as we only had tickets for the show and didn't have a table. They wouldn't listen to us when we tried explaining that we didn't have a table and could only stand to watch the show. However the manager allowed us back in.

Matthew Flinders Hotel has easy access to public transport, with Chadstone Shopping Centre – "The Fashion Capital" only a few minutes travel time away.

Priced quite expensive when the room didn’t satisfy me. The room is dated and the bed is uncomfortable. We couldn’t sleep whole night when it was so noisy outside. We felt very badly when early morning we had to work early but we didn’t have good sleep.

Food was ok for the price. 12 dollars for the lunch rump steak. Can't complain. Glass of pepper jack Shiraz was average wine selection could improve. Nice enough environment. Went to the bar instead of the bistro.

Went there for the Xmas buffet lunch and my brother and partner ended up getting food poisoning from the butter chicken. They both instantly fell ill right after eating it with my brother throwing up 5x at the place and partner as soon as we got home up until the end of the night which ruined the rest of the day for him. Never going back there again after that episode!
Btw the food is of poor quality and everything just taste like salt.

Wowwwee, what a breath of fresh air! Quickly upon my arrival I was greeted with very friendly customer service. A girl named Emma went above and beyond my expectations and seated us very quickly. Bravo.bravo

Stayed at the Matthew Flinders Hotel to attend an Expo at the Holmesglen Institute. The Hotel was conveniently located with easy access and parking. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Even though it is close to a club, there was no excessive noise during my stay. I would recommend the Hotel and will stay there again.

Prices were too high at the restaurant so we went down to the bar and had food there. Was cheap and boy was it still good.

A great place to meet to catch up with friends. Because it has a range of opening hours it makes it very convenient. Plenty of parking available.

Very friendly, food is ok. If you have a family with kids to entertain though there is a play room for them so you can actually have a conversation with your family or friends)
