Masquerade Costume Hire Melbourne

I had a great experience at Masquerade recently! The brief was to glam up for a Hollywood Glamour 60th birthday party. It felt like a big ask for someone older than 60 (!), overweight, allergic to high heels, unwilling to buy a new outfit, with an extremely short curly/afro hairstyle, and a decidedly non-glamourous approach to life atm! But.with the enthusiastic assistance and creativity of Jazzie, Josh and Steve (owner and "wigador"!), I was successfully transformed into Ella Fitzgerald for a night.via a lovely, vintage 1950s mint green and white-polka-dot taffeta frock, fur stole, wig, bling, white silk gloves and lots of accessories.
Thanks for the concept and all the help, you guys! It was great fun planning it and a good night full of compliments!

Steve and his team were extremely friendly and helpful putting together a fantastic Elvis costume for me. Even went the extra mile styling a wig in true Elvis style! A big 'thank you very much' to Masquerade, I would highly recommend them.

Had the most beautiful experience at Masquerade Costumes. Steve is exceptional and styled my Lucille Ball wig to perfection. He even asked which Lucy look I was attempting and went above and beyond to make my experience extra special. Cannot rate him highly enough! Thank you for being fabulous!

What can I say about this place. Most importantly it’s a whole vibes as soon as you walk in the door. Great staff. Welcoming & helpful. I had a fun time transforming into my new Alter Ego Purple Pimping Skillz aka Don DRIPPINGTON… watch out you might see him make an appearance around Melbourne. Costume of the year - KEEP IT PURPLE!

I had an Alice in Wonderland themed event over the weekend (a sort of scavenger hunt in the cbd).

I only decided to costume up for the event at the last minute, so rang first to see if they had anything that might fit. Steven assured me that there was an amazing Queen of Hearts dress in stock, and that he was sure he could find something if the dress wasn’t suitable.

Well, the dress was awesome. Full hooped petticoat, lace-up corset and all. He’d also gathered up some accessories to go along with it (sadly it was too warm for the fake ermine cape).

At the event, I was asked by more than a dozen people to take photos with them or their kids, and had countless more comments from random strangers about how fabulous I looked. I had a great time with my friends - we didn’t rank highly in the game, but I got to call people ‘peasants” and threaten to chop their heads off.

Overall it was a great experience - the staff were so helpful and being in costume helped me to get into the spirit of the event.

Amazing service from Jazzy, who accessorised a potentially difficult to do 6ft 6in man to the point where he won best dressed at his Christmas party.

Always helpful and with a great selection of costumes at a reasonable price. What more do you need?

This store is such a treasure-trove of amazingness! And they have the staff to match. I went in a couple of days before a 50th birthday, with only a glimmer of an idea and the staff were so great in building me a great option from their exhaustive range of hire pieces. My incarnation as Janis Joplin was wonderful - I felt comfortable and loved the whole look. I would highly recommend Masquerade Costume hire for their affordability, and huge range of options - not to mention the staff who are so helpful.

Staff are very responsive.and appreciate them getting back to me so quickly.we did get a mask there that was awesome.as well as some lovely make-up.

Traveled here to get an 80s Boy George costume for a Prisoner event. From the moment I walked in I was greeted and promptly offered service. I was helped by a young friendly lady who made sure I got the right sizes etc. You rarely get service like this these days, and it makes all the difference when a store care about customer satisfaction and offer good customer service.

Masquerade is by far the best costume shop in Melbourne! From the minute I stepped in the door I could see the level of service being provided was truly amazing and exactly what I needed! Masquerade helped me with my 30th birthday outfit and I couldn’t be more grateful for the service, care and assistance they provided. If your like me and read reviews before going places know you’re in the best hands at masquerade, I wouldn’t bother with anywhere else!

They do have a variety of customes but the shop is really small inside, difficult to explore without staff's help which is definitely good!

I hired a gorilla costume from Masquerade for my son's school event. We live regionally and nothing was too hard for the team at Masquerade. They measured the suit up, sent me improved mask options (when they didn't have to), via photos. They couriered the costume out with plenty of time before it was required, to ensure we had it before the school concert and they promptly refunded my deposit once they got the costume back. Definitely 5 stars! We will be back:)
