An excellent high tea experience, even for vegetarians. A bit expensive for the quality and quantity of the food and tea, but we'd go back again on occasion, and I guess that says a lot. I enjoyed the scones, they are amazing. The food is pretty good, too, but not worth a price if you're vegetarian. I'm thinking they should probably give vegetarians a major discount - but I don't think they do. The kids enjoyed their food, too. The tea is also really good. We tried the English Breakfast and Chai. Both were really good. There wasn't anything we didn't like, except one in our party didn't like the vegetable pies. It's worth a visit - even during Covid-19. They had plenty of space between people.

This place is super packed on a Sunday morning.
The savory and sweets were delicious, by the time we finished the bottom tier, we were already full! Very good service, as they prepared for one of our group, some food for vegetarian

Mary Eats Cake was the most magical experience for my Baby Shower last weekend. From the very first contact, through to organising all the small details to bring my event to life, the whole team were so professional and experienced in how to create the experience i was looking for. I had 30 guests, and had such positive feedback about how it ran, the delicious food, friendly team, and touches like unlimited scones & some unique, delicious cocktails. Can't thank you enough Mary Eats Cake, and can't wait to come back!

Our group of 16 for a recent Hen's Party couldn't fault Mary's. The helpfulness and organisation of staff to arrange our event was amazing. The service of the staff on the day were fantastic. The food was amazing - catered to all of us: Vegan, dairy-free or otherwise. Will be recommending them again and again and will be back. Thank you Mary's for making our friends Hen's Party so special!

Found this little gem on Instagram. Such a beautiful space with plenty of natural sunlight and delicious selection of sweets and savory. We booked and payed online so there was no fuss on the day. Staff were lovely and took the time to explain their selection of teas. I would definitely recommend having a high tea here

Had high tea here for a birthday - it was lovely. Perfect for events. Casual tea spot- not so much.

It's nice but definitely didn't live up to expectations. It lacks that refined professionalism that I would have expected, especially for the cost. The food was nice but not great, delicious or outstanding. To top it off I was asked in front of all my guests if I would be covering the cost of their extra drinks or would I like to charge them all individually.

Well I have to say my friend and I were disappointed with our food. One small party pie each and thats all the hot food. Asked.if we could have another. Yes we could if we would like to pay extra. Declined. Could have an extra scone though. The finger sandwiche was dry as.was the biscuit and slice of roll. We have been to many high teas so we know what to expect. For the price we left hungry. Sorry wont be back.

Elegant High Tea - what a fantastic experience. From the moment my friend & I arrived to be greeted by Sarah. The High Tea selection was the best i have ever enjoyed. Tea was call Brunswick Black Tea and it was so nice. We also tried another brew later of Lemon & Ginger. Special mention to the lovely Olive who looked after us and made us both feel very special. Will definately be telling friends they should go to Marys Tea House.

We were beyond impressed with our experience at the Montrose Mary Eats Cake. We went to celebrate our grandmothers 75th birthday and she was thrilled. The food was beautiful and delicious, as was the tea. We were happy to see everything was made on site. Thank you to the lovely staff for making the high tea perfect for us all! We will definitely be back one day soon!

Fairly nice food overall but it was disappointing that the food has been clearly sitting in the fridge pre-made for a while as the sandwiches we got were extremely soggy- almost like they were dunked in water. A nice once off experience but I would not go again considering the price.

Mary Eats Cake is the new incarnation of Impala + Peacock, serving high tea with beautiful china featuring their artisan teas.

For $49pp, we indulged in a range of savoury and sweet items, a variety of tea and second servings of warm scones with cream and raspberry jam. We tried the Brunswick Breakfast, Lemon Myrtle & Ginger and the Peacock Chai. The Lemon Myrtle and Ginger was our favourite - beautiful aroma, strong on the taste buds without overpowering and an aesthetically pleasing colour in the simple glass pot.

Learning from Zumbo's Fancy Nance, I started with the sweets and ended with the savouries. While this is unconventional, it allowed me to enjoy everything without feeling ill by the end. My friends experienced the high tea the normal way and thoroughly loved their vegetarian treats.

The place has been redecorated and now has a lighter spring feel. Beautiful flower arrangements adorn many spaces, complementing the delicate floral china. Friendly staff and service throughout the experience, Mary Eats Cake caters well for people with dietary requirements, special occasions and pampering self-indulgence.

Love going here to sit down and really focus on my journal or read a book. Tea is kept at perfect temperature on a tea candle and very lovely staff!

This place is like a holiday for your soul. Staff are extremely knowledgable on all different kinds of teas, how to prepare and consume it. There is also some fantastic vegan food, and although I'm a meat eater - try the Macha cheesecake. You're welcome. They also do Yoga so you can refresh your body and mind at the same time! Best place to chill with a good book on a Sunday

Venue is great, lots of natural light and venue room upstairs is great. I had a group of 20 and was advised that the per person cost would include eight items each and they served on three items each. The website also mentions unlimited scones and i had to request these on the day, they didn't automatically come out. My additional items weren't brought out on the day either and forgotten. Nearly $800 in total for the event and three small items and tea is what we had in return, not ideal. When i brought it up with the venue the next day, it was brushed away and i wasnt given a proper response.
