Had a follow up appointment at 10am and the nurse didn’t see me till 11.30 Their response was ‘We are busy. We can reschedule your appointment’. What is the purpose of having an appointment? Don’t they factor all that in? Such a waste of my time for a 5min check. Poorly managed clinic.

I rang them to talk about a procedure I wanted done. Just gave me a run around. I was not too impressed.

I had being to two Marie Stopes clinics, East Melb for a medical procedure, and Maroondah for a copper IUD, both experience was positive. The medical procedure at East melb was straight forward, friendly, no fuss, and successful. The IUD appointment at Maroondah was delayed, although I had to wait for an extra two hours to be called by the doctor, but overall it was worth it. I found myself in good hands, pain during procedure was much better than expected. My body adapted pretty much by day three post insertion, no pain, no spotting and free of concern, can't be more happy. I'm in my 30s and never given birth. However I do have a suggestion for the East Melb waiting room, perhaps avoid putting the TV channel on a cooking show? It could be tough for people who's got bad nausea in their pregnancy to hang around. Overall, many thanks to Marie Stopes East Melb and Maroondah, and I do very much recommend their services. DO NOT GO HERE. They told me over and over I can get the surgery as I was 6 weeks (they tell you after 5 weeks to come, both a friend and I called and they assured us both to come in as long as we are 5 weeks). I arrived just before my appointment and end up having to wait THREE HOURS to see a doctor! THREE HOURS waiting to finally be seen by a extremely rough doctor who I told was hurting me just giving and Ultrasound, who then told me I have a unusual uterus and so he has to be rough.
After this horrible examination he just says "No too early can't do it today. "
I asked about any other options what am I meant to do now? Thinking how to I take more time off? What do I tell my work? How can I prepare again for this? I would be then out of the state for 2 weeks.
I had just fasted for 8 hours I was tired and dehydrated I had been sitting for 3 hours waiting to be told to go home and do it all over again?
I had to physically and mentally prepare myself for a huge decision and to be a waiting room for hours with people crying around me starving and dehydrated to be told I was too early.
They knew how far along I was when I called both to enquire and to make the appointment. Why would they have not told me then? Why wait till both my Partner and I have taken days off work, fasted and waiting for so long.
If that wasn't enough they decided I needed to pay for this service another $90! This was only brought up now not when I enquired not I made the appointment but a surprise bill after being told we are not going to help you. This will be charged every time you come into the clinic and will not be taken of the total if you ever do get it done.
If you think you can go and then decide you can't.
This is obviously why they are telling people to come so early to make some extra cash of women in desperate need.
After writing in brief what had happened they looked up my number and relentless called me on private number. This was such a stressful time and they only made it so much harder.
I called another clinic and they told me to come in later as it was too early so I would not have to go through such a horrible experience for nothing.
Trust me this is not a place that cares. Its there to make money.
They can't get the appointments on time or even close.
Don't do it to yourself. It's not worth it.
