Waiting over an hour to be seen.unfortunately medical abortion did not work. I would advise anyone considering a medical abortion to go for a surgical one. Very traumatizing experience. Wait times on the phone to book an appointment are terrible. And aftercare line were also really bad. Doctor Lucy was good but that's it. Go to Hampton Park private clinic or any alternative.

This clinic is horrific. No star from my side. Been there only once. I came home talk with my husband then I decided to go to Women’s Health hub hoppers lane and start my procedure there. I put this clinic complaint through the customer support. This is place of stress

Really nice workers and nurses, explained everything thoroughly and made the experience very streamlined and comfortable.

For the price you’re paying you’d expect decent service.
I waited over an hour just to be seen.
Taken in for part of the consult before being sent back to the waiting room for another 45 minutes whilst they took in others for their appointment. People are in an out about 3-4 times.
The staff are nice but the wait time for such an anxiety inducing appointment is just not acceptable for the cost.
Partner was not allowed to join for anything except when I insisted for a
brief moment to discuss options.

It's been over two months since the procedure, and I've not heard a single thing from the clinic.

I've called multiple times asking for results, to be palmed off by the receptionists and told to simply wait to hear from a nurse.

I called the affiliated 24-hour after care nurse hotline to see if they could give me any information.

The after hours nurse apologised and explained that as a third-party, they will be ceasing their business relationship with Marie stopes/Mayfair this Saturday due to the lack of patient after care and inadequate follow-up procedures.

The receptionist mentioned in passing that I need another test, but couldn't explain why, or forward any documentation which would enable me to do so.

Beautiful clinic and beautiful people. The receptionist was absolutely lovely. The nurse was so kind and informative and the doctor was very lovely and reassuring. I had a great experience and wish I could give this clinic more than five stars. Thank you all for all your help through a very overwhelming and difficult situation. I couldn’t be more grateful.

Unbelievable just i can say unbelievable!
We tried talk with dr about my partner test because we got in trouble, for a week we tried to talk with someone 5 time in each day and more than 3 hours behind the phone but no one answered.they always passed us to some one else and again we waited for answer more than an hours at the end of this we should hang up the phone because nobody answered it. Its unbelievable, unbelievable!

Please tell all the women you know please don't ever get an abortion here. I had one in 2016, the doctor gave me the medication seeing I was distressed. There was no counselling, my partner at the time pushed me to do it. But I needed help. Please reach out to help theres always other solutions to abortion. I have struggled 7 years with infertility and haunted by the fact I took my child away. So please reach out for help. Children are a blessing not a curse.

These three stars are for the staff ONLY, they were exceptional and could not fault them. It would have been 5, however, you NEED to remove your aftercare nurse Carmen from your roster. I had issues with a procedure and there was NO advice, support or follow up offered which is extremely concerning. I was told "Go visit your GP" on two separate occasions. I'm sorry but I didn't just pay a fair amount of money for a procedure and I don't expect to have to follow up with a medical professional who did not actually do the procedure and has no knowledge of it themselves. This is incredibly poor and not expected when Marie Stopes have a duty of care with their patients. I was recommended this clinic but would not do the same to others.

Hi I just wanted to share my experience here. I was really hesitating because of lots of negative reviews. But decided to go here. I was having a severe health complication in my pregnancy which is potentially life threatening and was seeking for a medical abortion. I was supported and cared well for when I was at the clinic. The nurses and dr were kind and empathetic towards me and the procedure went successfully.
We had ringed there emergency helpline during step 2, as I was having some sort of violent shudders as a reaction to the loss of the baby in 30 mins. The nurse helped us to keep calm and get through the panicky situation which warranted an ER. I had appreciate her experience and the guidance she provided to my husband over call. God bless her.

Regarding the appt - There was not much waiting time during my appt. Everything was clearly explained to me and went smooth.

The only reason I didn’t leave 5 stars is because they cancelled my appointment at last minute just before a huge public holiday owing to the queens funeral. I wasn’t doing well and condition severe & was really hoping to get the procedure done on a emergency basis. I couldn’t get hold of any other provider. It has made my health condition worse and my pregnancy advanced by another weeks time. I understand that doctors get sick too. My only frustration was how there isn’t enough backfill. These appointment are not normal gp appointments to cancel in last moment, considering the sensitive nature of it. No appointments should be cancelled in last minute. I hope the clinic takes this review seriously and ensures it doesn’t repeat in future.

Similar to others, I was nervous due to the negative reviews. However, I had a great experience. The nurses were gentle, thorough and caring. I would recommend this clinic.

I had my medical termination done here and the process from start to finish was so incredibly streamlined, discreet and comforting. At no stage did I feel judged for my choice. I got there an hour early (lockdown perk, no traffic!) and the lovely receptionist offered me to come in in the hopes I could be seen earlier, which I was. The price of the procedure included the ultrasound- which I was quoted $297 for elsewhere! (Medical termination was $560 and includes any additional care I may need if there are any complications) I was given SO much information, offered multiple contraception options and also an STI test.

Facility was clean and calming, with no signage visible from outside, so your everyday passerby would have no idea what you are doing.

I am currently in the process of having my abortion, nearly 24 hours in, and in my experience it has not been nearly as intense and scary as some other reviews have said. I have heard some of them are written by pro-lifers. Please don’t be scared. If you are reading this and know now is not the time for you to have a baby, be empowered by your choice and grateful these places are doing awesome things for women. They have a 24/7 hotline for any aftercare advice and also offer counselling.

Marie Stopes East Melbourne- you covered all the bases and made one of the hardest things I’ve dealt with emotionally, so so much easier. Thankyou so much. You are amazing.

The nurse and doctors were so kind and professional and made me feel so welcome. There was no judgement from anyone. I was seen quickly and given heaps of information to take home, everything was explained to me thoroughly. I would highly recommend this service.

Everyone at the clinic was so compassionate and practical. I felt very lucky to be able to access such a professional and caring service during what was a difficult time.

Very Unprofessional and unbelievable. My wife appointment was confirmed by email on 5th September at 9am. I took a day off from work to go with her. We organised someone to look after our 5 months old baby. We travelled one hour to go there and they were closed and they didn’t even bother calling us and letting us know. When we called them and they said the doctor has cancelled all the appointments. But nobody contact us to let us know.

The receptionist was rude. She said we couldn't get our kill one baby, get the next free discount coupon.

I was a little concerned due to negative reviews, but my experience was calming, safe and very friendly. The small team at Marie Stopes East Melbourne were nothing short of lovely and comforting. The doctor was gentle and sensitive and the nurses were very thorough. They made what would have been a daunting experience far more bearable. Disregard negative reviews and come on a weekday if you are wary of long waiting periods.

They want to charge people on an interm Medicare card (people waiting on PR & pay Medicare levy) a full fee. Do not go here when you can go to the Fertility Control Clinic down the road and pay the proper Medicare fee. Save yourself 2rds of the cost they want and just don’t go here.

Was reluctant to come based on previous reviews. Rude staff, particularly the reception. In hindsight, there is a reason they have appointments available same day. Be patient and go to the place down the road.
