Marble Yakiniku 御和牛 reviews
56Excellent Japanese restaurant, love it! Top quality Japanese wagyu beef. Nice decor and ambient.
Beautiful decor and setting, we particularly enjoy the private room. The food a la carte was good, we particularly enjoyed the soups. The BBQ was the highlight with the meat being delicious. Unfortunately whilst booking they had given us a short siting which was of a surprise to us. I wouldn’t say this restaurant is particularly child friendly either.
We had our company dinner there last week. The food is good, but the service is horrible. We had 2 large tables each hosting around 12 people, the waiters just could not handle it. It was a total mess and food was delivered at random. We have a table full of young people but the food was swapped with the other table, end up one table is over fed and one is under. We have had experience with smaller table which went without any issue. If you have a large function, please be aware.
I loveeeeeedd the food, it was super yummy! I went with some of my family and we all loved it:) Though this didn’t fill us up unfortunately, and we ordered a lot as well. (more than images shown). But i LOVED the wagyu and everything, very yummy. Atmosphere was super nice too:)
Booked on the day and didn’t ask for a private room but still got one, a nice surprise for sure! Interior is so beautiful, elegantly decorated. Our room was like being in Japan, really special.
The food was great, options are great, Unagi Don is only available for lunch menu though.
Shabu Shabu Don was amazing, the tataki is a must try for sure! Overall amazing experience, definitely going again for the lunch menu too!
I’ve been wanting to come here for the longest time. Finally did for my birthday - I’m from the west side so this was definitely worth the drive for my friends and I!
Great venue and ambience, service was friendly and attentive, plus food was delicious will be back soon for sure!
Ate here again the other day, and honestly have to say I'm extremely disappointed. The quality of Marble has gone down not only in food but service. There are barely any staff if any to wait on tables so we take ages to get served, and the poor staff they have on, are running around like headless chickens trying to get everything done. Everything was so rushed, I nearly witnessed a staff member burn themselves by trying to change the grill over. Can you guys not afford more staff with that expensive menu of yours? The meat is obviously very frozen and for a place that markets themselves as "refined Japanese dining" the new food menu leans more Korean than anything. Would not recommend and will not eat here again, if nothing changes, spend your money ELSEWHERE.
Had a great time at Marble. The meat here is definitely better than going to Korean bbq. I would definitely say it is worth the price. They also have other things like sushi on the menu as well. Very nice atmosphere and service too. They have all the sake you could want on the menu. It is the same owner as ichi katsu, but this is more up market.
[One Hat Yakiniku? ] your guide to Melbourne’s best Yakiniku with an authentic Japanese feel @marbleyakiniku
The star of the show is a A5 Japanese wagyu feast with top standard affairs, savour the best from Japan at their house.
You knew that……Yakiniku is an all time favourite in winter. Don’t miss out!
Marble Yakiniku serves up the highest-grade beef, fresh sushi and hotpot.
We tried their omakase sushi set which was nothing but fresh. The wagyu sushi set had 4 different kinds of nigiris so of course we had to get 3 servings of it.
Foie gras rice is a staple dish in every high-end Japanese restaurant. The fattiness of the liver smothers the rice so that you get a taste of the fatty goodness in every bite. This was evident in the chawan-mushi as well. Just uncovering the steamed egg, you immediately get a whiff of foie gras. The portion of the egg was really generous also.
For the main event, we tried Japanese and Australian wagyu. I love Japanese wagyu more than Australian. The quality and richness of it, lowkey makes me sick but I LOVE it. When the meat is cooked over binchotan charcoal and then melts in your mouth from all the marbling - just delicious fatty opulence.
Overall, it’s definitely on the pricier side but what do you expect, everything was made with care. Highly recommend visiting if you haven’t already.
1st time dining here. Read lots of good reviews and they are all right. Absolutely enjoyed every dish. The Wagyu beef is my favourite. We had the seafood platter which was fresh and lovely on the grill. Highly recommended.
Very disappointing.to begin, staff were inattentive upon arrival, not coming up to the table upon being seated to explain the menu, the service, or even to get our drink order - we were not seen to for at least 15 minutes after being seated.upon having the meat brought out, the staff did not offer to grill it for us nor provide any directions on how to do so (especially considering it was a charcoal grill with ooen flame) and though we were fine as avid kbbq eaters, we saw many tables struggling and looking around lost/struggling with high open flames and no staff going to help them.moving onto the actual food, having ordered the $330 premium japanese wagyu platter with sides, the food was also very disappointing at this price point.everything tasted either plain and unsalted or incredibly sweet (or both), including the meat which was very disappointing given how expensive it was, and we were left feeling literally unwell after the combination of greasy meat that was too sweet with no saltiness or sourness to cut through this.the gyoza was also cold upon being brought out, and we also had to request that the rice be brought out a significant amount of time after the rest of the food had arrived.halfway through our meal, and after having been there maybe 30-40 minutes, we were told we had only 30 minutes left and if we wanted to order anything else we would have to do it then (this was as we were still grilling our meat), and immediately after having finished eating after less than an hour our table was awkwardly and hurriedly cleared, even the dishes we were still picking at.we felt extremely rushed and quite upset at being rushed out immediately after finishing our food and whilst still going with our drinks in consideraltion of the $500+ that we spent.whilst the staff were friendly and polite, the service was overall inattentive and we felt too rushed in comparison to other high-end yakiniku/kbbq restaurants.for next time, i would highly recommend against this restaurant and instead direct you towards niku ou for a similar setting but faaaaar more better service (extremely attentive individual waiter at similar price point yakiniku) or mansae for less expensive but better quality meat.very disappointing as we spent weeks looking forward to this place and were left feeling dissatisfied with both the food and the service.
The worst service for this type of restaurant. The waiter asked me to get to the table myself. I asked which one, he just pointed at one of empty tables said that one. I was very surprised he even didn't bother to walk me to the table.
Excellent menu, large variety of Japanese dishes, service and atmosphere is amazing, going back again soon for sure
Delicious food and great service. Highly recommend, if you like Wagyu and nice Sake then this is the place.
Daniyeru's Detailed Review:
Start of Service 5/5
*Greeted professionally and politely by staff
Food 4/5
*Wagyu Platter and Bento Box sets were tasty, however quality could be better at a lower price point elsewhere in the Wagyu Industry
*
*
*
Value 3/5
*The amount you get versus what you pay for quality, quality vs quantity, both could do better. I still had to eat afterwards else where to get full
Atmosphere 5/5
*Definitely appropriate for a special event
End of Service 5/5
*Everyone here is politely and friendly, however when mentioning my partners birthday the male waiter with glasses mentioned they simply Dont have anything to offer for a special moment, which is quite odd considering even smaller restaurants do. Avoid asking to avoid disappointment.
Meat is good, Little bit overpriced, service is not good. Toilet is clean but there is no parent room for changing nappy
Could not rate this place more higher. Would give 6 stars if I could! Service was impeccable, and the wagyu, oh my lord! While expensive, it is definitely worth the experience. I recommend the sets for cash conscious. However, if you want to splash that cash, definitely go the chefs choice japanese wagyu!
Amazing Japanese restaurant with delicious food and authentic Japanese vibe. Also with a nice staff. Highly recommend this place.
Very traditional Japanese cuisine, beautifully prepared and presented dishes. The food was tasty and well portioned. Highly recommended
