Mandoline

Went in to the place and was not attended to for a while. Stood in the middle of the place in full view n still not attended to. Walked up to the lady at the cash counter who decided to ignore and continue to do what she was doing for a good 2-3 mins before she even looked up. Not sure of the rating for this place being so high if they treat their customers like this. At the least, an eye contact would be appreciated. Also asked me if I had a booking when I saw a bunch of school going kids who clearly we’re there without a booking! (middle of a school day, you think they would have made a booking) free tables and they were full so did not want to make the effort of seating us. Not sure why the discrimination. Would not recommend this place. You just lost a potential customer and someone who would bring repeat business.

Absolutely the worst breakfast in Melbourne, easily. My partner ordered a pumpkin breakfast that came with an egg, grilled tomatoes, and a few other bits. The pumpkin, which the dish was based around, was so revoltingly devoid of flavour and was soft and flavourless, with no seasoning or flavour of any kind, the tomato had been under the grill for possibly 10 seconds and was just as unloved as the pumpkin and it just went downhill from there. Service was atrocious and had the distinct air of people who would rather be doing absolutely anything else. The food was left largely uneaten and we walked home and made a lovely breakfast after getting fabulous bagels from Aviv, which clearly we should have done from the start. Disgusting.

Lunch was Delicious here (French). Special was $24,2 courses. I chose the Fried lambs brains mashed potato capers lemon butter appetizer.yum.then I loved the sauteed Calamari lemon Risotto, so tender. Good service. Tasty.

Very tasty meals, cheap prices, nice service, not crowded, corkage 7$ per bottle. Highly recommend lamb rack (5 cutlets for 31$).

Terry is a wonderful owner and gives free dog treats for my dogs even if they are not there with me! Coffee is great too!

Great place and always fresh foods. If you like authentic cooking. This is the place for you. Eggs Benedict are my favourite but tried others and was well deserved

Lovely little French restaurant in the heart of Elsternwick. Very nice selection of meals on the set course menu. All of the choices of our group of 4 were very nice, generous serving and great quality and authentic French cuisine. Friendly and helpful service. Highly recommended.

It's one of the best resturants I frequent because the owner is a genuine French chef. Food is simple and and is carefully prepared and presented to the customers. Its uniqueness comes in the atmosphere of friendship and care that is shown to his wide range of patrons.

The best coffee in Melbourne, meals are exceptional. I travel a great distance to dine here. Well worth it!

We are regular patrons at Mandoline & really appreciate its consistently good service, wide range of choices for breakfast & lunch & the high standard of food preparation & presentation.
The soup of the day, omelettes, French toast & many other dishes are always good.
Fresh juices, coffee & chai teas round out our meal.
We have never been there at night but the menu & reasonable prices make it a reliable choice in a street with many competitors.

Excellent food at modest prices. You'd be silly not to go there. It also allows BYO wine. Do yourself a favour, go!

The food and coffee is amazing and the staff so professional, friendly and attentive. Love the atmosphere and that it's not noisy.

The meal I had was good - risotta with squid, can be noisy, mixed group of people there eg there was a meditation group, which I found was out of place in a resturant.

We love Mandoline! The food, the coffee, the friendliness, and the lovely courtyard at the back! One of the hidden gem on Glen Huntly Rd!

Very child friendly place with drawing activities, fish tank and nice outdoor area (at the back). Loved a gingerbread cookie on my takeaway cup, although latte happened to be bad (kind of sour).

Cosy place that gets busy really quick! Lucky that we had a reservation. Food is amazing and so is the coffee. Im definitely going back for brunch!

There was a pube on my omelette and when I complained a staff member just pulled it off and laughed at me. Good omelette otherwise though
