Mandoline reviews
41 I've been here for several times, and I can say, this is the best chai latte. With all ingredients not just chai powder.
Biscuits are good as well.
Very nice place, friendly staff, and when it's not raining outside you can even sit outside and see some greenery in your eyes.
And the red velvet cake is very delicious
Great food and service!
But on a cold Melbourne day it would have been good to install a "self-closing" back door, which people left open each time they went out to the toilets (giving us a blast of icy air!) Or at least put notice on door to "Please close door! "
Otherwise A1.thanks
Food was not the best under cooked French toast. Chicken burger was ok. Service was very slow brought water no glasses asked twice, then just got them myself. Brought food over no cutlery waited about 3-5 mins looking at food with no nice and fork.
One of the must try places in elsternwick. From delicious brunches to dinner varieties, the food and quality never disappoints. Service maybe slow based on when you arrive. However, overall a very pleasant experience!
Don't be fooled by an unpretentious decor the food is awesome. The rack of lamb was done to perfection and the Floating Island was sublime. Go and try it, you will love it.
This is an amazing and a very affordable restaurant.
The food is perfect - freshness, presentation, taste, portion size.
It is made professionally and with love.
The place is quiet with good acoustics.
Its is easy to talk to other people even if you have a big party.
Discrimination. Unfriendly service.
I went here with my friend in the morning because we read good reviews and the food looked good. We waited to be seated for so long and the staffs did not say any words to us. A man behind us waited to be served as well. Then a staff coldly told us: “we do breakfast service here” instead of nicely telling us to sit down or so. Then she skipped us and served the customer behind us with bright smile and did not pay any attention to our existence at all. So we walked away. I’m not sure about to food but the service is definitely unacceptable.
Private party on a Saturday night. We booked the whole restaurant for our 50th wedding anniversary party. Initially booked for 41 people, 37 attended. Thierry was very relaxed and easygoing about the final numbers, he only requested this be advised to him one day prior to the party. He also declined to take a deposit. A very reasonable price which included drinks as well was very easily negotiated. All this sounded too good to be true
Last-minute dietary requirements presented no problems and my two daughters were able to go there in the afternoon to decorate the restaurant for the party.
My wife and I arrived at 6, half an hour before our guests, just in case of any last-minute glitches. On arrival, we were greeted by "front-of-house Kaitlyn who immediately offered us each a glass of wine. The restaurant, which is not very large was brilliantly set up with three long tables easily accommodating the 37 guests,
As the guests arrived they were all offered a drink and invited to take a seat when ready. Thierry, Kaitlyn, and the others behind the scenes excelled!
A small menu was at every place at the tables offering a choice of three entrees, three main courses and three desserts. We had also negotiated a cake to be provided at the end of the meal.
Everything was fabulous. Every dish was perfect and plentiful.
And the anniversary cake, a strawberry mousse cake was excellent as well.
At the end of the night, the bill was less than we expected and we even left a tip for Kaitlyn and the others.
We've had dinner at Mandoline three times previously as well as one lunch and were very pleased but this dinner was next level. Every single guest commented to me how impressed they were with the food and the service,
The party was a great success in no small part due to Thierry and his more than capable staff.
We left at 10,30!
Monsieur Thierry, Vous étiez fabuleux.
Mercy beaucoup!
Meals were delicoous, generous sized and a nice, quiet restaurant. Friendly service. Our first time for dinner there, a fabulous family birthday celebration and we will be back.
Everything in my Eggs Benedict was fresh.and had flavour. Good place for lunch but the atmosphere was more cafe than restaurant
Love both experiences I had had here. Just lovely staff and clientele and the food/coffee, too.
Very good brunch menu. Coffee & Tea choice excellent. Service great. Enjoyed the catch-up with friends.
Went this evening for dinner for the first time after being recommended. Food was amazing, definitely will be back.
Had lunch today. I had the roast pumpkin from the all day breakfast menu.simply fantastic.
But sadly my partner asked for a chai latte with almond milk (dairy intolerant) but dairy milk was used. I'll for the rest of the day and night.
I've had dinner here a couple of times now and I can't recommend it enough. The service and food is fantastic with a large selection of French cuisine. All of the meals are really well prices and delicious.
It's also a great place to grab breakfast or lunch and a coffee during the day.
Mandoline is my favourite Elsternwick Cafe, good range on menu, Thierry and his staff go out of their way to make your visit a great experience.
I definitely recommend Mandoline
Unimpressed. Waiters attentive enough when the customer is seated outside but useless as in complete disregard for me as a customer seated inside and it's not the first time this happens. I agree with Abby's comments 6 months ago. I prefer Edna's any day. They, by contrast, know what it means to be service minded.
Had the best lemon tart in the history of lemon tarts.couldn’t stop eating.finished it in one go.the chef makes fresh desserts! I’m gonna keep going to mandoline.
Lovely place, great coffee, helpful staff, good cakes. I especially like back access to bring my dog along. Mannager/ owner could look a bit happier, but lovely girls make up for him. Overall one of the best in the street
