Malmsbury Bakery reviews
53 Best country bakery I can find.
Hot cross buns that set the gold standard for what can and should be done to make a record setting award winning item.
Probably the best vanilla slice in the world, if there’s a better one out there, I haven’t found it yet.
Great pies, pasties and sausage rolls, bread is spot on, the fruit loaf is not for the faint of heart and is so heavy that you’ll put your shoulder out if you don’t but two, so you can balance the load as you walk out.
If you aren’t happy with their goods, you need to get that chop off your shoulder and have a look at the real world.
The steak and onion pie was really good, had big chunks of steak and onion, with good pastry. (Plus the sauce was free, which isn't so common anymore). Coffee was strong and of good quality and also well priced. Great service, great food, great value. Thanks.
Lovely spot to down a coffee and some country bakery treats. The Pies and vanilla slices are delicious.
The courtyard is tranquil and leafy and there are crocheted rugs to keep you warm while enjoying garden.
What a beautiful stop over we had on way to Kyneton. Amazing courtyard and place to relax with a good coffee and yummy treats from bakery
Fantastic country bakery. Best sausage rolls and lovely coffee. Friendly staff, fantastic and fast service. Will definitely recommend and will be back for future visits.
Could do a bit better with the sausage rolls. I was looking forward to a country bakery sausage roll. It was massive, which shouldn't really be a problem, but just didn't taste great. Something about the meat/filling. Wasn't to my taste but may be for others. Some smaller options might be worth considering to offer - something you can eat easily with your hands (and for kids). The current ones are massive and require knife+fork+table+chair.
Love their carrot muffins it's delicious, their Coffee was creamy and Delicious I got a cappacino. They have honey for sale and also homemade jams and relishes. Their steak and kidney pie was filling and yummy it's out of my way but I have stopped in there twice now, highly recommend. Great customer service also. Can't wait to try more things from inside here. So far I have bought their homemade raspberry jam and their Mountain Honey, haven't had a chance to try those yet hehe. Ohh yeh and you can have honey in your hot drink yummy.
Unfriendly staff, not like how it used to be. Clean your outdoor tables, you were not even busy and we had to move dirty dishes to another table in order to sit anywhere!?
What a fantastic bakery. So much variety and fresh, all looks just mouth watering. Tried the veggie pastie and never ever have I had such a huge pastie that tasted so good. Worth leaving the Calder just to grab some good food from this bakery?
Good old-style shop. Worth a stop, service a little slow on take away so be patient, in a small place they are doing their best. Friendly and good selection.
Great food, coffee was good and the sitting area in the garden had a beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately while trying to eat my pie, I was swarmed by wasps and my partner said that the staff she ordered with were rude.
Best steak and onion pie known to man.
Wish I had bought heaps more!
Went back today and bought 12 pies and 6 pasties - Yum!
No bread till the weekend BUT delicious Pies.the young dude that served me was cool and didn't mess around. He must get confronted with a right feckin' mixture of clientel.amazingly he remains fairly amiable - three cheers for him he gets the Jungle Jim seal of approval although I would of had three pies but there wasn't a Chicken one x
Disgusting food, bad service and overpriced.
I had the sausage roll and it was double the size that I wanted and very greezy/oily.
Amazing garden and toilets.
Lovely pastries, good food and an amazing courtyard out back with trees and kids play area. Divine for a little stopover!
Great little local bakery and tea house, good coffee, tasty pies and I highly recommend the Eccles cakes.
Dropped in for quick coffee, service great. Purchased meat pie, it had real meat chunks and tasted fantastic recommend to anyone
I was only stopping by. Great coffee for rural region. Fast service.
PS It is a really beautiful town, especially the botanic garden with a lovely lake and friendly ppl.
We turned off the highway - so glad we did! Easy parking, came in to get a pie each, ended up with a magnificent baguette, some ginger beers, & a booklet on Malmsbury's history. Fabulously friendly ladies put a big smile on my face before I'd even tried the magnificent pie. The real thing.
Excellent in all ways and Vega pasties and sausage roll coffees and Fruit bread is the very best. Thank you for a safe welcoming environment xx
