Malmsbury Bakery reviews
53This country bakery is one of the best i have been to! Amazing food & service, so fresh and delicious.
Unfortunately i dealt with a young blond female who was extremely blunt with me and did not want to help. I came in just before close time. I had asked if there was anything out the back which was just put away and when i asked she she said I could only get what i could see. I guess thats what you get these days paying minimum wage
Excellent and fresh made sandwiches and bread rolls.
Sausages rolls are huge and super tasty.
A Sunday drive in the country on a beautiful spring day. We chose Malmsbury as our destination. Just over an hour from Melbourne in the northwest. It's so important to support our small country towns. We'd looked up the best country bakeries and decided on The MalmsburyBakery Cafe. We've never been there before, and we weren't disappointed. Yummy pies and great coffee! Seating inside or in a beautiful garden setting.
We usually buy a loaf of bread on visiting country bakeries to enjoy at home. This time, we bought their fruit loaf. Highly recommend it!
We'd got there just as their market stalls across from the bakery were packing up. So we recommend getting there before 1pm if you love wandering through the markets. I'm just not sure if the markets are there every Sunday. You'd need to research that. We suggest getting out to begin exploring our beautiful small Victorian country towns and especially their bakeries!
I hope this review is read by someone before visiting unlike me who came to look after. This place has been absolute go to for us for many years as we'd come up from Melbourne to visit friends. I now understand it's changed management - it has gone from being our favourite bakery to one of the worst meals we've had. Terrible sausage rolls, sloppy pies, and I'm not sure what happened to the pastry but it had a weird taste to it (and was quite doughy). They still have the custard tarts and they're ok, but not what they used to be. It's also changed to takeaway only - keep driving sadly.
Not only is the food exceptional (I consider myself a long term offionado of spinach and cheese pastries and these are the best ever) but Anthony was exceptionally kind to post my friend's phone back to her when it was accidentally left behind. Going out of my way for their pastries forever!
Absolutely, hands down, without exception the best carrot cake I have EVER had!
We’ll done guys!
What a FABULOUS bakery.
Staff were very friendly, coffee and tea were hot and tasty.
Will call in again if we pass by.
Very nice bakery. I love their bread, rolls and muffins.
Well worth the stop on the way to Bendigo
This bakery was busy, bustling and full of delicious baked goods, pies and pasties. Friendly, speedy service. Well worth a quick stop for an impromptu picnic in the nearby botanical gardens
The bakery is fine but as a coeliac, there was little but the coffee for me to choose from. Pretty much everything had gluten. The coffee was good.
We stopped by and had the cauliflower pie and a sausage roll and both were exceptional.
The cauliflower pie wasn't too rich or cheesy and the cauliflower inside still had texture to it giving each bite a great overall mouthfeel.
The sausage roll was dense and had super crunchy pastry. Just delicious.
A very friendly young girl served us and I would return any time based on today's experience.
We enjoy to visited Malmsbury bakery for morning tea for my family today mothers day. Food is nice the place awesome good to come and visit is nice the country road you can come anytime.
I had steak and onion pie and a milk shake. The pie was lovely with chunks of meat and tasted great. The milkshake was 100%. We sat in the little room at the side because it was rainy. There is disabled access through the courtyard garden. The courtyard garden is beautiful. A great place to eat in this picturesque town.
The veg pastie was chock full of veggies with delicious pastry and there's a large range of cakes, pies and sandwiches as well. We'll worth a visit for hot cross buns
Stopped here heading to Melbourne, steak pies are excellent as is the coffees! Friendly service!
I pop into Malmsbury bakery now and then to grab a pie or a quiche if it’s early with a coffee. They all are Fantastic quality and lovely staff. It’s busy as hell on weekends so get in early! The pies and sausage rolls are over generous to be honest, you must be pretty hungry to fit it in, the chunky meat bits are fantastic! I usually buy a couple of cold ones to take home too. The spinach tomato fetta quiche is the best I’ve found anywhere, delicious with a coffee!
Wonderful atmosphere friendly staff and excellent service. Wonderful outdoor secluded courtyard sitting under beautiful old trees. Crafted steel hand made furniture to sit on.
Best coffee & large size cappuccino in my perfect type of cup - detest coffee in a mug! Then what a joy sitting in the beautiful courtyard with a cappuccino & lemon slice:)
First time I have had a meat paste with sausage meat in it not the nicest at all prices pretty high 2 custard 1 pie 1 paste $23
