Malaysia Station / Nan Yang Express 南洋茶室 - Balwyn North reviews
50Saw the shop front and gave it a chance ordered dim sims and Nasi goreng, unfortunately both lacking flavour and quality ingredients
Very close to our home, it is within walking distance. Good authentic Chinese Malaysian food. One of the dish tonight after Melbourne Covid-19 Lockdown.
What a rip off. They advertised their fish head noodles lunch specials at 50% but decided to charge extra for the dry fish head egg noodles dish without informing me up front. In fact during ordering, they told me it was on 50% discount. I only found out after I paid the bill and asked for the receipt (and they did not even have the courtesy to mention that they did not give me the full 50% discount until I questioned the bill) and they said that it was under management's orders as egg noodles are expensive. I decided not to make a scene and raised a complaint on their FB page but I was told that I was not overcharged as I 'consented' to the price. Unbelievably arrogant response. So it's ok to advertise a deal and not honour it? Looks like the joke is on me and I should have made a scene while paying. Lesson learnt, I'm never visiting this place again.
The "Penang Mee goreng" is literally char kuey teow with mee instead of kuey teow and tastes terrible. I will not be coming back here.
Huge servings of good food. I was expecting the Hot Special Noodles to be spicy, but it was actually very mild.
The service is good and fast. The food is delicious. Love the yum cake, marmite pork chops and sambal kangkong.
Great eatery with a large selection of delicious dishes to choose from. Have been here a few times and ordered something different everytime and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The restaurant hides in plain sight in Greythorn but look out for the heritage green storefront and are in the mood for great Malaysian/Chinese food, you're in for a treat!
Thought bringing out the rice before main dishes was a bit odd. But other than that, food was great! Highly recommend the yam basket Kung Pow chicken!
The food is amazing and authentic! Would love if they had more variety of drinks like ice Milo, the Tarik etc. Yam basket is a must try!
