Maki Sushi reviews
31This is my go-to spot for Japanese. The food and service is always amazing, been many times and tried many things, Maki Sushi always hits the spot for incredibly reasonable prices
Excellent quality sushi and other Japanese food. Top notch service and lovely staff; this place is a bit of a local institution.
The food is really nice and well priced, genuine ingredients. I like the ginger they have there.
Great place to have Japanese food. The prices seemed cheap, but the portions are a bit small. Overall very nice.
First time getting maki sushi it was amazing and i was talking to a girl whilst eating and she kept on saying her name it was "Tu Yung" or something like that but i didn't mind that i took her home and had a good time but she kept on saying she was 'Tu Yung'
I love the sea, I love salad and finding the seaweed salad here was like finding three of my favourite things all joined together. And let me tell you this place does the best quality and best value version in the area.
I've been going here for the past 5+ years! Always the best quality Japanese Cuisine - the okonomiyaki is my absolute favourite <3
Despite being the same price as Sushi Sushi and other chains, Maki's sushi is much more generous and great value!
Hands down best sushi in the region - far superior than chain sushi stores.
Quality is comparable to legit restaurants in the city!
The food here is excellent. It's always fresh and great value for money. The place is quite small and it's not open late so it's more of a cafe style than a restaurant. The service is always friendly. I highly recommend.
First time getting take out at Maki Sushi and we weren’t disappointed with the choice. The hot food - pan fried pork gyoza, panko crumbed prawns and okonomiyaki - was delicious; Fresh and not too heavy. We had a platter of sushi rolls which were fresh, although I found they were slightly dry. This was made up for by the soy sauce and pickled ginger provided. If you like your sushi rolls clean and light, I would recommend Maki Sushi highly. However, if you like your rolls with lots of sauces and mayo, you might prefer somewhere else. Overall, great value for money and nice to find a sushi place run by genuine Japanese people!
A chicken bento is reasonably priced and quite tasty. Staff were very kind and the atmosphere is very down to earth. Would like to see a few more menu options (I.e Tempura options without soup)
Good place to grab lunch.
The Best. So fresh so good. Price is unbelievable you can eat like a king for 50 bucks. I like to eat in and get a bit of everything. Stay away from the sushi chains come here instead
Best sushi in town and lovely staff who are happy to make up sushi if there isn't what you want available.highly recommend!
The cooks weren't wearing masks whilst making the sushi when I went in today which is a bit unsettling, and they also charge a surcharge for card payments which seems unreasonable during covid times
Apart from that the food is really nice and well priced, genuine ingredients. I like the ginger they have there.
First time we have tried Maki Sushi and it was delicious. We ordered a few items but the real winner was the medium Nigiri & Sashimi Platter, it was more then enough for our family. Maki will become one of our regular takeaways for sure.
Excellent sushi, very clean feeling, great service. Plenty of ginger provided at no extra cost. I will confidently say that this place has very quickly become my favourite sushi destination.
Being quite sensitive to certain foods and hidden ingredients. I never have to worry about feeling sick after eating the sushi from here. Whoever makes it, without a doubt knows what they are doing. Simple and beautiful.
The salmon is always such great quality.something that is hard to find at most sushi outlets.
I will say, the plastic use is a bit of a let down and I do wish they would provide a more eco friendly option.
5 stars regardless.
Very nice food, However no table service and some guy came half way through our meal and started mopping the floor with bleach which made the experience unpleasant, i admire the cleanliness but must you do it when customers are eating?
Authentic, flavoursome food and very friendly and open service. Our favourites from this cute little eatery are the vegetable soba soup and the vegetable and tuna sushi rolls. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants.
Very grateful to have this authentic Japanese eatery around the corner to us. Our favourite handroll is a tough choice between the pawn and the salmon. Theyvare always served with generous servings of wasabi and ginger. Fantastic theyvare doing home deliveries as well.
Authentic Japanese Sushi, ramen and other food (the bento boxes are amazing). The service is always excellent and we love this place, it has been great for years. I highly recommend!
