Mail Exchange Hotel

Came here for a quick grub and the food didn’t disappoint! Lots of prawns in the pasta too!

Our group had a lovely lunch at the Mail Exchange Hotel. The food was great and well presented. The service was exceptional. The Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Liked the atmosphere there as well. Everything was clean and well appointed. Well done everyone.

The Mail Exchange Hotel has the right balance of being both causal and classy. The menu is well priced and has a nice variety of tasty choices. The meals were enjoyed by all in our group. I highly recommend the Mail Exchange Hotel for either a meal or causal drink.

Nicci and her staff are hospitality superstars! They are intuitive to customers needs and are pre-emptive to the trends in the hospitality industry. They engage with customers without being too pushy and are REAL to the individual needs of their customers!

Whatever happened to the service? Last 2 lunch occasions it has been woeful. Won't be coming here again for our monthly get-together.

We had the pleasure of meeting here again for our Outlander group lunch in Melbourne. Today we enjoyed a fabulous time in one of the private rooms and they accommodated us perfectly. We had to use the Television to play our Q+A prizes giveaway; we tried the USB and it wouldn’t work after a while they fabulous Christine Johnson sent for someone to buy a special cable to help us with the situation, even though they couldn’t get one we appreciate the efforts and we are glad the television was connected to the intervener and we were able to play our video using YouTube.

Amazing facility, New machines, classy spacious lounge area, genuine friendly staff, after losing my money I usually feel peeved but at M. E. I still was in a good mood. Now that speaks volumes in itself

If you want to drink and eat something is difficult because they always say that the kitchen is closed and the orders take long time.

This place is excellent if you want to play pokies and enjoy a great drink. But to go out for food and and a drink, having the pokies buzzing next to you is rather distracting. But for a night out on the pokies. The perfect place!

Got told by security that if I didn't have a phone that I shouldn't go out because me and my partner we're sharing a phone and he was checking in for me. Honestly better off going down the road

Delicious deconstructed hamburger. Staff are always happy to accommodate different diets. Great for lunch.

The Mail Exchange Hotel is the number one pub on my favorites list, from it's convenient location in Melbourne CBD, being across the road from Southern Cross Station, a short walk to Crown Casino or just plainly for the great and reasonably priced food they serve through to it's great atmosphere.

The staff are always very friendly, they're a hard working and dedicated crew - including security on the entrance who have always welcomed me in with a smile!

It has this super cool setting of being in a basement, you walk down the stairs or a trip down the short escalators and are met with a large bar and a huge gaming/sports area on one side or a more quiet and reserved restaurant area on the other.

The smoking area out back is also great, for those inclined.

The menu is typical pub fare, the quality is always exceptional and meals arrive in a rapid fashion. There is a HUGE selection of drinks on tap too, including beers like Carlton Black which is a bit hard to find around Melbourne.

I regularly travel from regional Victoria into Melbourne CBD solely to go to the Mail Exchange Hotel - a great night in the city always starts here, great for a sport crowd, to corporates types and everyone in-between!

Large venue great for watching sport or having a drink pre/post game. I wouldn't recommend visiting if you aren't a sports fan as it can be very loud, but if you are then you are sure to find other fans celebrating and having a laugh.

Sports. Pokies, meals; its a unity ticket at the bogan end of town. Whether it's a atop on the way to a strip club or giving thoae harmless pokies a try - (what could possibly go wrong?) A question to pose to the chill merchants (meth) in nearby Rose Lane. Staff are all friendly. Good range of beers on tap. Food good. Pokies suck.

Had a great lunch with friends celebrating. Staff very helpful and friendly and the meals were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Great venue, easy access from Southern Cross Station and a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Surprisingly amazing food, good atmosphere and staff are awesome.
We had dinner there, watched the footy live on their screen, and stayed for hours, when originally we just went there to use as a meeting spot to meet friends and play the pokies for 20 minutes. Overall a good little venue.
Espresso Martinis are 5 star!

Always have a great time here great customer service good range of pokies and clean bathrooms so a big tick from me only negative I have is the security guard I've seen him be very unprofessional to customers and even heavy handed on 2 separate occasions once with a couple another time with a female and I never seen the victims lay a hand so it wasn't called for at all

Easy process. We made a reservation, got there and at our table in 5 mins. Great table service, timing and quality of meals. Recommend booking though because the venue is go-to. Highly recommend

Haven't been here for a while, got the Parma (with panko crumbs), well cooked, with ham.
Was ok, but lacked a bit of flavour with the sauce and cheese blend was not quite right (maybe not enough mozzarella?) - was tough, not creamy.
Chips were something special, can't go past these, all washed down with a blizzardly cold pint.

So good to go to the Exchange before the footy. Staff friendly, professional and with a good sense of humour. Our food was delicious and delivered on time. We went back there after the footy and kicked on. Good atmosphere!
