LUPICIA Fresh Tea

Was lucky to be gifted some beautiful teaware and an assortment loose teas box for Christmas. Had never heard of the store until then. I am immediately converted. Yes, it is expensive, but beautiful things often are! It has only been a few weeks since Christmas but I have already placed an online order to restock and expand on my selection. The perfect tea to enjoy while I practice gratitude.

My experience at this shop was absolutely terrible. I with my family walked in to the tea house, i was explaining the difference between each type of tea to my kid, and my kid was also interested in it, so he had his hand on one of the display tea box, suddenly there is an old woman walked to my kid and told my kid to DO NOT TOUCH anything.

There is No signage on the table saying no touching and there are three more customers in the shop, she only said this to my kid. My kid didn’t do anything wrong. This is ridiculous and super disappointing.

After few minutes, i was talking to my husband, then, I heard this old woman said “no touching”again, I turned my head to my kid, my kid was just using his finger pointing the box that we bought last time.

So why don’t you put NO KIDS ALLOWED in front of your shop?

Kid also need to be treated with respect. No one wants to be treated like second-class citizen. It's definitely unacceptable.

I will certainly not be returning. After I reviewed online there are many customers had a terrible experience with this old woman. I wonder why she is still working here? If this old woman is the owner, This shop is hopeless. I don’t even want to give 1 star.

I placed an online order of a bunch of different teas to try. They were all delicious! The Orange Pekoe Earl Grey was the standout, with the Rooibos Earl Grey being a close second. I look forward to going in person one day to browse and bring home more tea!

Fantastic and beautiful tea shop with lovely owners who are friendly and helpful. Their Muscat Oolong and Peach Oolong are favourites.

Great quality and variety of tea. Always a pleasure to deal with the very helpful staff in recommendation of tea to try. They also have a wide variety of tea pots and cups to compliment the tea brewing. Whenever I visit Melbourne, I always make sure to stock up on tea from here.

I only wishing that they produce the blooming tea again. This store is very nice. The service they gave to the customers were superb!

I am very happy to be able to buy the tea that I used to buy in Japan in Melbourne. I felt that the price was the same as the one sold in Japan.

The staff helped me with a tea to assist with sleeping as i have trouble falling asleep and i have been having this "sleepy tea" every night and has helped me immensely. Highly recommend!

So many choices, and the staff are verly friendly and ready to help, i always enjoy shopping there. And of course the tea is verly nice

They serve you nice until you pay. And they don't like to do exchange as it costs them extra work. The staff today are a young lady and an old woman. I purchased 2 bags of loose tea leaves, 1 is 50g and another one is 100g. When I finished payment, I found out that the young lady gave me 2 of 50g. I asked them to change 1 of them into 100g but I pointed out the wrong one. After I paid again I found out that the price is wrong and I asked them to exchange again. The old women seems annoyed and said there is a lot of customer she need to serve them first. So I am not a customer? I waited for 30 mins to get a $2 refund for the price difference between the 2 teas. And she blamed and yelled at me and said I am the one who tell them that I want the wrong tea. Outrageous. Their tea is good but their customer services is super bad.

The customer service at this Japanese tea shop was absolutely terrible. It's a wonder how they can even stay in business with such a lack of care for their customers. They were all sweet and accommodating until they got my money, and then they couldn't be bothered to help me exchange or refund the wrong items.

My experience shattered my previously held impression of Japanese people as polite and respectful. One old lady in particular was extremely rude and even went so far as to blame me for the mistake, which is completely unacceptable.

If this tea shop hopes to retain customers, they must improve their customer service. Customers should always be treated with respect and courtesy, especially after making a purchase. No one wants to be treated like garbage after giving them money. It's not acceptable to treat customers poorly once they have handed over their hard-earned money. The owner should prioritize investing in customer service training for themselves and their staff. By learning how to interact with customers in a respectful and professional manner, the staff can create a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the shop.

この日本茶店のカスタマーサービスはまったく酷かったです。お客様に対するケアが足りないという程度の対応で、この店がどのようにビジネスを維持できるのか不思議です。お金をもらうまでは皆甘く、親切でしたが、品物を交換または返金するのに手間をかけることができなかったのです。
私の経験は、日本人が礼儀正しく敬意を持っているという以前の印象を粉々にしました。特に1人のおばあさんは非常に失礼で、私を間違いの原因だと責めるまでに至りました。これは完全に受け入れられません。

この茶店が顧客を維持するためには、カスタマーサービスを改善する必要があります。購入した後は、特に尊重と礼儀をもって常にお客様を扱う必要があります。お金を支払った後にゴミのように扱われたくないですよね。オーナーは自身やスタッフのカスタマーサービストレーニングに投資することを優先すべきです。スタッフが尊重とプロ意識をもってお客様と対話する方法を学ぶことで、店内にポジティブかつ歓迎的な雰囲気を作り出すことができます

Went to Lupicia the other day after some 'good' Green leaf tea. Was served by a wonderful trainee, who could not help me enough. Such calm and helpful assistance, without pretentiousness, is a rare delight in Melbourne these days. Kono ocha wa ('Uji Yabukita') sugoku oishii desu. Taihen dōmo arigatō gozaimasita.

Great place for quality tea in the centre of the MelbourneCBD. 18 months ago I bought 10 different Japanese green teas and 10 Chinese teas. After a week of sampling all of them, I chose my favourite - a Japanese plantation tea 7403 - and have been buying it ever since. It is always consistent and the price is reasonable at $45/200g. If you are serious about tea, make sure to include Lupicia on your list of suppliers. Highly recommended.

A beautiful tea shop hidden in the heart of Melbourne. Many beautiful mixes and flavours of black, green, white and oolong teas available. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A must for anyone who appreciates fine teas.
