The food and atmosphere was incredible. The only let down was the host and a couple of staff members who came across a little rude.

Will definitely be back.

I like the Red entrance walk way very much. It gives such an Asian style vibes.
Food was wonderful especially tempura betal leaves and Pork Hock.
Staff were friendly and attentive too.
Ill be coming back for sure!

We took advantage of the Surf Coast lockdown special and it was absolutely amazing; stunning food of awesome variety, three beautiful cocktails, and a tempernillo. Thank you Lucy Liu. Highlight of the week.

They changed the menu and I liked it more before. Need more menu options and specials, overall 3.5 stars.

Everything we had was brilliant!
We choose the 'Let Lucy Choose' 7 plate menu and were not disappointed at all!
I personally loved the grilled Cauliflower and the Vietnamese style Salad.

Amazing food and cocktails. Tried their set menu + pork bao bun (to.die.forrrr) and all the courses were great. They were very accommodating of our requests too (no to raw fish, no prob. Tuna tartare swapped for crispy tofu). Definitely coming back.

We booked last minute and still got a table (went on a Thurs arvo). The place was full but tables are well spaced so doesn't feel packed.

Walked in solo with no reservation and was seated by the "food bar" with perfect view of the cooking The food was absolutely amazing. Waiters were very polite, informative and cool but seemed short staffed. Fried prawns betel leaf and the crab pancake roll to die for.

Would recommend and will be back!

Heard a lot of good things and decided to go as celebration for my dads birthday. The place might’ve been understaffed, we had the 5 plate course and one cocktail each. Food took a while to come, staff wasn’t very personable and didn’t bother to come around to ask if we wanted a second round of drinks, where we were sitting made it hard for us to flag down the staff as well. We still had room for dessert but to our disappointment the staff came to clear the table and gave us the bill straight away without bothering to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert, we probably would have if they asked but we decided against it considering the lacklustre service. Staff didn’t even say goodbye to us when leaving. Ironically I noticed there was a 10% Sunday service fee we were charged but we definitely didn’t feel like Lucy Liu was welcoming or provided adequate service to incur this fee. Food was alright, but not exceptional. I had really high hopes but if you want a good experience and great food I recommend going to Chin Chin, Magic Mountain Saloon or Gingerboy instead.

Sophisticated bar dining venue With all the trimmings of a elegant up market dining experience. For the uninitiated just turn over your placemat and ‘that’ is your menu.

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or a large banquet you’ve come to the right place. Why not try the Soft shell crab Jianbing, spicy hoisin for a delicious quick bite.

Waiters and staff are super efficient, helpful and friendly. You will find everything you expect from an upmarket sophisticated venue including cloth napkins and beautiful decor.

The drinks menu is a ring-bound folder with pages and pages of wines and cocktails to choose from.

The menu is a delicious selection of those sought after items you’ll find only at a venue such as this.

Went for lunch with my friends on winter season.hoping to have some hot food on cold rainy day.the ambience was good with warm and friendly staff.we looked through the menu which was bit confusing.not just me but for all my 6 friends (2 from philippine, 1 from china, 1 indian and 2 true blue aussies) ironically none understood the menu so we ended up ordering 5 plate.and thought best to leave it staff.out of 5,3 of them cold! Felt like they were just taken out of frezzer, mixed and served.disappointed.except the last dish which was somewhat warm.my suggestion is 1. Menu is the first thing that guest look at.it be meaningful and make the dishes more attractive.not just some wierd items put to gether.they really need to work on thier menu which normal people can understand. 2.serve food based on season.not what the chef likes it.if its winter and cold.even a simple hot soup taste really good then chefs signature dish.understand customers and serve what they want.not what you want

Very nice atmosphere and nice restaurant. Staff are very friendly. The food is quite nice but is quite expensive. Nevertheless, wonderful restaurant.

Tucked away down a dark laneway off Flinders Lane, you just follow the bright red light!
Very lively atmosphere; there’s a bar area, an open kitchen surrounded by high seating, and regular table seating. Service is relaxed, super friendly and excellent.
Fantastic menu with so many excellent dishes- each and ever one we had was sensational.
The highlight for me was the beef short rib rendang, together with the roti (one on the best I’ve ever had).
The chocolate pave with peanut butter ice cream was amazing - rounded off a perfect meal.
Highly recommended.

My first experience at this restaurant was a BIG RUSH-ordering and eating was done in a hurry. They are more concerned about getting numbers in than quality of their customer service. Good place if you want you want to scoff your food in a hurry and warning you wont have time to even consider ordering desserts! They will explicitly remind you that people are waiting for your table and that you need to leave.

Pro's: the food was nice
Cons: didn't get time to enjoy my meal or allow me to order what I wanted because they said it would take too long to prepare.

We had the vegan menu at Lucy Liu's and it was very tasty! Well priced for $50. If you are not a massive fan of chilli, then all you need to do is let them know and they will tone it down for you. Service was terrific - very friendly staff. The food arrived at a good pace too. Highly recommended.

: Throwback to this meal I had with @hello.imnikki a while back. Was up to try some modern contemporary Asian so decided to check Lucy Liu out.

️: Favorite dish of the meal definitely had to go to the Steamed Cod with Stir Fried Morning Glory and Smoking Sesame Oil. Also loved the taste and texture of the Nam Kao Thod—aromatic crispy rice and smoked trout salad—the perfect starter.

This is a tapas style restaurant, very dim lighting and tight dining room. I found the bar area to be more quiet and romantic for dates. The drinks were on point and so delicious! The food was amazing and fresh made to order. I had the bao buns, soft shell pancake roll, dumplings and banana fritter ice-cream!

Honestly some of the most attentive and friendly staff I've met for such a quality melbourne venue. Their menu is an absolute treat, the Tofu leaf entree especially is this amazing mix of spicy, sour and sweet with layered flavors. In fact everything on their menu had knocked it out of the park.
The venue layout is a mix of intimate, with tables large enough for groups. A great playlist curated by the staff that's not hard to hear over, but doesn't make the place feel like a din.
Expansive drinks menu, even got some sake suggestions from the manager.

Overall fantastic, approachable and friendly, but in a way that makes it great to impress for a new business venture or a date.

One of my new favorite places in Melbourne. Reservations are apparently recommended but they've got room for smaller walk-ins too.
