Lucy Liu Kitchen and Bar

Lucy Liu continues to deliver awesome food. We now live in Sydney so hadn't been for years.

Tonight we sat at the counter which was incredible - amazing to see the chefs at work creating great tasting food. We started with the KINGFISH SASHIMI, GREEN NAM JIM, COCONUT & THAI BASIL which was so tasty and the perfect start to our night. We then had 2 serves of LUCY’S SOFT SHELL CRAB JIANBING (one at the start of the night and one at the end as they are so good). My husband had the CRISPY PORK BUN, HOUSE MADE KIMCHI, SRIRACHA MAYO which he loved - it's made with pork belly which I can't eat. I had the FRIED CHICKEN BUN, GOCHUJANG, PICKLED RADISH and actually had a second one (but the second I asked for with extra Gochujang sauce as that's where the spice is - omg, so so so good - and reminded me of when I first ate it). We also shared GREEN PAPAYA SALAD, SHRIMP, CHILLI & LIME which was light, delicious and a perfect accompaniement to the other dishes.

I highly recommend Lucy Liu and recommend the smaller dishes on the menu as I personally find them more flavourful.

Our service last night was mixed. Our main waiter (male, Asian appearance) wasn't particularly attentive or engaging. However a waitress, Amy, brought our drinks and then was incredibly engaging, assisted us with ordering and then took our order - she was fabulous and made our night.

Drinks were well priced - we had beers and gin & tonics.

We had a beautiful meal here - everything was delicious and creative. Nice service too. We'll definitely come back (and we'll have to order the cauliflower again).

We went for my best friend’s birthday and Lucy Liu certainly did not disappoint.

We were met by a very cool atmosphere with friendly staff knowledgable about the menu & drinks.

They even helped accomodate to our dietary needs & requested some wonderful menu dishes for the night. Myself and another friend are vegetarian and the options were surprisingly delicious. My favourite was certainly the Turmeric Spiced Cauliflower - everyone at the table loved it meat lovers included.

Next favourite would be the Caramelised tofu betel leaf which was a surprising delight.

Any improvement would be that I personally found some dishes a touch heavy on the salt. The roti bread was delicious and crispy however a bit tricky to grasp for traditional eating with the dhal.

Lucy Liu has nailed every component of the restaurant experience. Wonderful to celebrate a birthday or a cool catch-up with friends after work. Will definitely come back again

We dined here last Thursday and had a brilliant time! A great atmosphere, extensive menu with something for all tastes and tasty food! If there is a small group of you (2-3), I recommend sitting at the chefs counter as it is lovely to see all the action in the kitchen. Big shout out to the beautiful team member from Sheffield who served us - he was so attentive and welcoming!

We called this afternoon before a show to try and squeeze in for dinner, and the team were kind enough to find us a seat. Every single staff member was genuinely so lovely, very relaxed but professional, efficient and easy to talk to. There was a lady serving us (I didn’t catch her name) - she was so friendly and made ordering very easy, especially as we had a short time to eat dinner. The dumplings were very tasty, but the best of the night was the rendang. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Gorgeous Lucy Lius!

The soft shell crab wrap is incredible. Perfect combination of sweet, salty, crunchy and soft- a masterclass in flavour and texture perfection.

Wonderful well crafted service, the wait staff and sommeliers are excellent, they provide a wonderful experience making sure you have everything you need and an excellent meal.

Have been a variety of times for intimate family dinner, drinks and entrees with friends larger group dinners (which I recommend as you get to try more of the wonderful food)

Great cocktails (of particular note the Tokyo drift, they are also masters of all the traditional cocktails and have a large gin offering)

A must in the Melbourne restaurant scene.

Absolutely loved their food and I'm not one for hot food but damn it was tasty as where the cocktails we ordered. Thank you heaps

Wow fantastic staff and had two friends with dietary allergies and wow they were blown away by how lovely and accomodating the menu and the staff were so considerate and caring - the food was next level awwwwesome - sooooo yum and the overall experience was 100/10 thank you for a fabulous evening - love love loved Lucy Lui:) Can't wait to go back it was so much fun such an awesome atmosphere with incredible food and very caring fabulous staff:)

My go to modern asian spot in the CBD. Always consistently good. Really good flavours, without being super overpowering.

So delicious everything we ate was absolutely fantastic highly recommend wait staff were friendly and professional

An underwhelming experience overall - the food was okay but the service by the main waiter for the table was disappointing. Coming off the back of eating out at the nearby Akaiito (which was exquisitely sublime for food and service!) - the contrast with service was simply too stark to ignore.
Outside of the service, the food was okay - one dish I would recommend is the Salmon sashimi

We ordered the 7 dish set menu. Aside from the barramundi and kingfish sashimi - which were amazing, everything was average. The steak was good too.

The set menu was too small. I think this restaurant needs a larger "favourites" or "best of" set menu with dessert at a higher price of between $109 - $139.

Great service, great food, cool environment. I recommend trying this place for a enjoyable experience.

Went there with my date, food was good but felt really uncomfortable with the remarks the manager was making about me having a nut allergy. Definitely not going back there again. Though it was a nice place to sit and enjoy the night but service wasn't acceptable.

This restaurant is a favourite for my friends and I can see why after my first visit. The food was divine, the cocktails delicious and service fantastic. I’m already planning my next visit.

Yellow fin tuna sashimi, kingfish sashimi, turmeric spiced cauliflower, prawn and spinach crystal skin dumplings, pan fried mushroom and chive dumplings, Asian greens, drunken chicken, roti bread. ️️️

Delicious food (especially the turmeric cauliflower), great service & fun atmosphere. Accomodating of children

Enjoyed delicous food, cocktails, wine and great friendly service, can't fault anything. The only disappointment was when we arrived at the front door we were instructed to walk around the block, down an alley to enter, maybe a covid measure? As we exited through the front door, not much of a big deal it but after walking from the Theatre l really needed to visit ladies room!

Amazing staff. Very friendly and informative. Certainly exceeded my expectations. Food is unique. Will be coming back.
