Lovely setting, definitely will go back. Can take your dog to the bar terrace. The only negative is no bar food during the afternoon.

Alright - two words, one name: I love Ryan! I came to celebrate a very special lunch out with my Mum here the other week to revisit an old favourite of ours (haven't been in a while). Food was great, and service was wonderful, my Mum was having trouble reading without her glasses so Ryan very kindly read the entire menu aloud to her, answering any questions she had- such a warm bloke, super friendly. Will be returning:)

Good size meals, comes out quickly if not super busy. There's a huge play are for kids at the end of dinning area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Try not to sit near the entrance area as it's very cold when the doors open 'winter' otherwise we love it in here.

They Always say they are booked out although in many occasions we have rocked up in the middle of the week and they have plenty of unoccupied tables… there’s something seriously wrong with this business … also food quality is very inconsistent

Good enough staff and service. Sadly the food is cheaply made, you can taste the packet stock in risotto for example.

Risotto portioning was fine.
Taste was cheap. Could be straight out of a packet. Not worth 29$ at all.

Parma was on the smaller side, It was served to me with 8 to 10 individual chips, I asked them to please provide more which the staff oblidged.

Upon return they added maybe 5 more chips. This was pretty hilarious.very poor guys.

Parma Taste was okay, a 6/10.
Chips were a 6/10 also.
Serving size is atrocious for 29 dollars.
Salad was barely dressed and not worth eating.

Staff were kind and did a good job. Basically this place serves fast food but more expensive. Not enough in the portions or quality for the price.

The LPH is a fantastic local hotel. Very friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, terrace bar and gaming areas. Excellent staff and management and a very good menu.

Gave me a free ginger beer if I went into Gaming Room. And explained to me how to use poker machine after I asked.

No Splitting Bill.
We have been visiting the Lower as locals for at least 30 odd years since the days of the ball pit. We recently had a party of 35 people, my poor Dad had to foot the food & drinks bill for everyone. Yes some were able to fix him up. Other's didn't get the opportunity. This system is absolutely rediculous. We will sadly no longer travel back to visit the Lower & it's awesome playground unless this system changes. Many other businesses can work it out. Such a shame. Put a damper on what could have been a wonderful afternoon.

Saturday 26/6, rang up at 12: 30pm to see if I needed a booking for the terrace bar due to covid and what not. Rock up at 6: 30pm to walk in and are immediately told we needed a booking for a table. Very disappointing that communication was poor between customer and staff. Was forced into the pokies and had to sit outside in the smokers to be able to be with my group.

If you say one thing, but do another, its very confusing and disappointing.

Nice place set in a native environment. Meals aren't cheap for a pub. Love the beer garden on a sunny day and Melbourne cup day is huge here

Love the Lower, great place, great atmosphere. Sitting among the trees is perfect for an afternoon beer.

Rang to make a booking. Were told you weren’t taking bookings and to just show up as you had the space. We get there and we couldn’t get in because we didn’t have a booking …….

Called up to check availability for dinner and was told not to worry about booking as a walk in will be fine for the function room or terrace bar. Arrived and was told by the Covid Marshall that everywhere was at capacity. Terrible experience and a total waste of our time, won’t be returning.

Not happy with the food quality at all, orded Linguini Marinara which supposed to have reasonable amount of mussels, scallops and salmon but only things you could see was the cheap shrimps, 1-2 mussels / salmon and no scallops.kids Penne water hadn't been drained well more like a soup left over. I have been lived in this area for a few years now and it was my first visit to this place and would be the last too.

Amazing staff we were there for mothersday so it was very busy, our orders were on time and of good quality we ha 11 on.our table and everypne was happy

Food poisioning after eating the stir fry. I ended up in hospital for 2 days. Be careful what you order!

Great food plenty varities of food to choose staff great nice clean restuarents. Car parking good will return again very good.

We always love having our Roast of the day but apparently they only serve it Monday to Friday on senior days. My mum was very disappointed, but our fish and chips were fine

Biggest time waste I wanted to get a beer and I got asked to show my ID 7 different times not even exaggerating I'm in my 40s ffs
