Loving Hut Northcote / Brother Bon reviews
77Got the popcorn chicken, lemon chicken and Vietnamese fried rice, a flat white with oat milk and they were all amazing. Best vegan food I’ve ever had. I wish this place was in Adelaide!
The entire menu that we ordered for two of us was sensational. The best of the lot was the cauliflower bam bam. Wow! A real explosion of flavours.
Creative and delicious options! We are looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.
The service was great.
Bit pricey, but it is what it is.
Huge range of vegan options to choose from. If you are vegan, or looking to reduce your meat intake, it’s a must visit. I’ve been coming here since it was Loving Hut. The ambience has improved since the Loving Hut says. I had the bun bo hue which was spicier than I remembered.
Attentive service and reserved us a table even when we called up only 10 mins beforehand to see if they had availability. The food was delicious, big portions and very fresh. Will be back!
Brother Bon breakfast is until 3pm not 11am Northcotes new best place for vegan breakfast!
We had the Chili Scrambled Tofu and the Magic Mushroom both were absolutely delicious and were a generous serve we will be coming again and again breakfast lunch and dinner sorted! They've really done up the place is now very inviting with the same lovely staff as before what are you waiting for?
When I realised it was vegan. I love it! Best vegan food that I have try and I'm not vegan.lol
Amazing food, fun vibe & great customer service. I’m not a vegan but love the food here! I recommend the Crispy Buttermilk Chicken Burger.
Food was quite nice with lots of options available
The pineapple fried rice is very good but should request it with less oil. Netted spring rolls also nice. Brown rice is also very nice.
The pricing was a bit expensive but good service and hot food.
Great food for the non vegan, look like your traditional meats but it is vegan, you can hardly tell the difference
Amazing and large menu to choose from! The mock meat is very tasty and not chewy or too salty like you might see elsewhere. Great option for vegans however a little on the expensive side.
So nice, the food was beautiful and the place is so clean. Well done guys.
Would highly recommend this place
Took my girlfriend there for our anniversary dinner. First time eating here. The food was fantastic, lots of variations. I had the katsu Sando and my partner has the seafood laksa. Lovely venue, great staff, awesome food.
Looking forward to going back
Incredible food, warm and friendly service and an amazing vibe and atmosphere. This place is seriously one of the best run restaurants in Melbourne for both vegans and non vegans. The love and care put into everything is second to none. I love the little couch area and projecter that plays what looks like anime on the wall and all the beautiful plants. They make sure the takeaway dishes still look nice and don't come in all plastic containers which is seriously commendable. Have never been disappointed! Too hard to pick one dish to recommend as they are all so tasty. Thank you all at Brother Bon and keep up the brilliant work
Really great food, servers were excellent checking in with us when we requested no soy in our meals and items had to be swapped out. Great place to go if you have many dietary requirements to cater for, as everything is labelled clearly.
Came for lunch with 4 friends and we all had something different. Every meal was a work of art and didn't disappoint for flavour. Not only was the food delicious but service was friendly which, post COVID is rare. Will definitely come back
I was really excited to try this place because I've see all the good reviews and I've heard good things from my vegan friends in Melbourne. I got a take away tonight and the food tasted great. But within 15 minutes of finishing the meal I started to feel hot and itchy. Another 20 minutes later on I was throwing up all the take away. My only allergy is eggs so I don't know what could of gone wrong with the food but it has really impacted my evening.
I’m no vegan and this place is truly great. The menu is massive so there is heaps to choose from. The build your own bao is good idea, not done that before and it was very tasty. Seems like the duck wraps are a favourite which were also great. Few specials that looked pretty nice on the board too. Staff were friendly and everything comes out pretty quick! All in all cool spot for some vegan food.
Loving Hut's been given a new coat of paint and now identifies as Brother Bon.
The restaurant chain still serves a similar menu of vegan asian fusion dishes.
One of the stand outs is the Sizzling Duck, though many of the dishes fail to impress upon being stand alone authentic representations of their mimicked dish.
If you want a Char Kuey Teow, you'd go to Lulu's, if you want a Laksa, you'd go to Laksa House.
Gotta say, amazing, amazing options, and so much to choose from. We got Peking duck pancakes, chicken curry and roti and spicy chicken dumplings to start and all three were so good!
I have to say though I did have a bit of food regret about my main. I had the lemon chicken and although it was okay, $34 for mock meat, a drizzle of lemon sauce and a small bowl of rice is a bit how ya goin. Definitely wish I chose something else. The price of adding rice is so ridiculous
