Love Machine reviews
66Security was rude and discriminated against two of my guy friends who were people color. It has a $40 minimum to buy drinks on eftpos. The one ATM has a $3.50 surcharge. The music was just the top 40 from 5 years ago on repeat. There was a lot of songs with the N-word for for having no black people inside I could't stand in one place without being told move very aggressively (I'm black by the way). Don't go here unless you're willing to wait in line for an hour and still not get in. It was expensive and overly caucasian other than that it was ok.
Staff and security were so so rude and racist not sure how they still have a business it’s honestly disgusting and was such a rip of would not recommend to anyone at all
There are much better places to spend your money. This place is run and staffed by some of the worst people in the city.
Extremely rude and hostile staff and security who make up ‘policies’ as it suits them. Completely unnecessary rudeness. They reject girls here as well so don’t expect to be let in. They didn’t let me and a couple friends in because we weren’t standing super closely to the rest of the group? Makes no sense at all. Underlying discrimination is so obvious here.
Line promoter was egotistical, arrogant and rude. Doesn't know the definition of smart casual and is just straight up a joke of club
Staff are rude! Misleading! Only accepts cash? ! So dodgy! DONT go here- you will be JUST DISCRIMINATED!
Girlfriend brought tickets to see the Magic Mike show and then after show no friends were allowed in, despite organising a birthday list. Very poor management
Toilets were gross. No one refilling the toilet paper and one toilet had no door. Staff were tho friendly at the bar and walking around the venue.
Very rude bouncers and security at the door, they’re racist, arrogant & disrespectful. They Refuse people getting in for the stupidest reasons, very unprofessional
Honestly don’t go here if you don’t pay for a booth. Waited at the line for 3 hours to get rejected, even girls getting rejected. Better chance and security at another club.
This place is horrible. My friends and I brought 6 tickets for their NYE event and we waited in line for them to say my pants and shoes were to be changed before I could enter (despite a person behind me wearing jeans and a tacky dress shirt). My friend asked why and got angry with the vague response. I was told to leave the line. She fought back for me and then the bouncer says “all your outfits are basic and causal, I was allowing you guys in (my five other friends) but now because you gave me attitude you can leave. ” he organised a refund which we are still I'll informed on.
Bad custom service
Bad attitudes
And no respect for people (racial profiling is ever-present here.)
Honestly the worst way to break into the club scene.do not go here.
Good show but poor security service. Lost my leather jacket and keys there just in a second out of eyes.
Bouncer was incredibly rude and violent. Grabbed me from the back and threw me out as if I jumped a queue but all I did was going in to pay as the organizer of a hen do just as told. You stand there until I ask you to go. This mentality has to go if they want to keep their customers. No wonder the bad reviews.
Racist bouncers picked on my shoes. They weren't dress shoes, but they were black and modest. Yet they let in white guys who wore colourful runners and casual t-shirts.
The worst doors policy I had seen in my life. They do not allow some people to get in for many reasons. Shoes are the main point, but the staff sometimes lies the club is full, and after allows other people to get in. Shame on them.
Rude security guards who think they’re working at crown casino, and the bartenders stand there and look around judging everyone thinking they’re better than everyone else.drinks are way overpriced
Why is love machine still a thing? Rude bouncers, discrimination, over priced drinks - it’s a HATE MACHINE. A friend was rejected due to his outfit on his birthday and guess what? We had two birthday boys and we pranked them to dress exactly the same. One arrived 30 mins later and all in the sudden dress code changed. Or, did the dress code change? Redirect yourself somewhere else as there are plenty of clubs to enjoy!
I haven’t been a regular patron at love machine before however upon my first time not even entering the venue I am disappointed. Me and my friend were wanting to attend last Saturday night to see Will Sparks play his set from 2-3. We were going to see him at crown, however tickets were sold out so we decided to make a purchase of tickets to see him play at love machine instead. We arrive and line up and while in the line, a security guard was walking down the line and checking everyone’s foot wear, however me and my friend had nothing said to us (we were wearing vans & black tns) so upon reaching the front of the line we were told that we were not allowed it due to our shoes and looking ‘too casual’ however upon seeing the weekly upload of photos there were plenty of people inside the venue wearing sneakers, converse and shoes just like ours. We were told to contact love machine for a refund and therefore what was the point in buying a ticket even though it didn’t guarantee entry?
Not a happy chap that I missed out of seeing my boy Will play for the second time in one night
Was looking forward to clubbing in the city for the first time for my boyfriends 18th got in we were there for 20 minutes and my partner trip over my foot and the security guard grabbed him and thee him out for accidentally tripping over, there is no where to sit what so ever! Too many people and overly priced was very disappointed!
District 1 on Fridays is always great! Line can be a bit long sometimes but the atmosphere inside is crazy good.
However, I went recently on a Saturday night to see the Will Sparks set that was starting at 2AM. Got there at about 12: 40am, lined up for about 30-40mins. While lining up, we noticed that there was a security guard walking up and down the line checking for appropriate footwear. Got to the front of the line, was told by a security guard that my clothing was too 'casual' and I had to step out of the line. I was wearing triple black Nike Tns, ok then?
I don't understand why the security guard that was walking up and down the queue wouldn't ask those with 'casual' footwear to step out of the line before getting to the very front. It's just a waste of time. We also had pre-purchased tickets for entry but that didn't guarantee anything as we were asked to contact Love Machine for a refund on Monday.
