Lorna Cafe

Great place for brunch. Lots of different coffee options. If you are into eggs or food you might normally find in vegetarian food (like lentils), then this is the place for you.

It is one of the better cafes in the surrounding suburbs and I’ve noticed it’s always pretty packed full of diners.

Nice local cafe, great atmosphere and service. Food and coffee also highly rated. The place can get quite busy and we had to wait 20mins for our take away coffee order.

Happy little cafe that serves good food with a unique healthy twist. Prices are reasonable, servings are generous, and the service is always fast efficient and friendly. Dining is available in or outside, as is takeaway

Came upon by chance whilst in the area. Looks like booking is recommended, but they were able to accommodate us as walk in pretty easily.

This rating is solely on account of the rudest waitstaffer (Hi dyed red hair waitress with tattoos) I've encountered period. We stopped for an unscheduled stop with my parents in law, wife and our two little kids, and bumped into my wife's patents who live nearby and invited to join us. We had no booking and as the place was very busy i only asked for 6 seats for adults since I didn't think we'd even get that. A large rectangle 6 seater table was arranged and I then asked the waitress is we can add one chair at the end of the table so our 4 year old didn't have to sit on our lap the entire time and that request was met by attitude and a comment to me that I "need to communicate clearly" to her. She stormed off never to return. This was a simple request of only you made an effort to listen to me. I found spare chairs stored in a corner and I added one to the table myself. The rest of the staff were wonderful and the food was good. Thanks for your advice red-haired waitress. Perhaps you might want try harder at improving your service. I don't mind too much if the odd coffee mik is burnt, I don't mind too much if the food isn't amazing everytime, I dont mind an inadvertent clerical issue if fixed (which happened as we were charged for the wrong table but it was an accident and was fixed), don't mind waiting a bit longer if the place is busy etc etc because not everything can go right 100% of the time. I however do very much mind being disrespected by rude staff. You are only the second one I've encountered in my entire life in Melbourne so you in rare company. Congrats on earning this review.

Really nice friendly service, fresh clean modern interior design. A good choice of beverages, all the usual ones, plus some less usual ones. I enjoyed a spicy cocoa latte.

It was a cozy little place & the staff where friendly. My wife & I ordered breakfast as we had our car serviced by Mazda in Ferntree. It was a good recommendation by the Mazda fella. It got a bit crowded around 8: 30 & loud but that's because of the breakfast rush.

Disappointing considering how many other decent places are in the vicinity, but I'd give another go.

Good value for the meal. I had a scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. It was a bit too oily to my taste but overall I enjoyed it. The service was excellent and friendly environment.

Spent a couple hours here working, the vibe and space is fantastic, the staff are all friendly, attentive, but not "hovering". Coffee was best in FTG, food was tasty. A great spot!

Exceptional service. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff at this busy local cafe. Coffee was great with a menu of traditional breakfast and brunch fare with your smashed avo, but also some interesting twists to tempt an adventurous taste bud. A great local find!

Nice place. Staff were friendly and food was enjoyable but is probably a bit pricey for what you get and outdoor table was wobbly.

What a surprising find in this little strip of shops on the highway. The food and service were excellent.

By far my favourite Cafe in Melbourne. Phenomenal food, the best coffee and the loveliest people. We come from inner city Melbourne just for the fantastic experience that is Lorna, killing it.

Beautiful food and good service! We did have to wait for a table during their peak period, but we were able to order a coffee while we waited and we're still looked after by the friendly staff.

WoWzer my new Favorite Place. First time in Oz after 6 yrs that felt like I was south of the border with real authentic taste! Lovely staff and service also got to meet the owner who was a delight to chat with! Don't change a thing Lorna Cafe you are splendid. Gracias Nina

THE SPOT in the lower Ferntree Gully area. Nice people, nice and happy staff. Great ambience and one of the nicer short macs around. Cappuccinos are well made as well, my friend had a normal dairy and mine Soy.
Food wise, I particularly like the chili scrambled eggs and the fantastic and super healthy Bircher muesli, soaked overnight in coconut milk.

Food was very good, just a little under seasoned, staff are very friendly, service was very quick, drinks were very good!
