Lorna Cafe reviews
44I have been to this cafe several times and this visit really confirmed how much I enjoy the vibe, food quality and overall service. As soon as we entered we were greeted with the warm energy of Dillon, who ensured we were comfortable and seated in beautiful spot. The wonderful service and perfectly timed check ins of Sarah as we were there the whole time doing our work and enjoying the expansive space of the cafe. The beautiful smile and acknowledgment of Emily as we were leaving. Definitely would recommend and keep up the amazing work?
Great service very friendly however I felt it was overpriced. 2 plain crumpets with 2 chopped up strawberries and a bit of lemon curd for over $20. Bit steep I felt. Against all the other food the crumpets were less than a third of the size for nearly the same amount. Everything else looked great. I'd recommend it but don't order the crumpets of your hungry.
Haven't sat down to eat here but got coffee and cakes to take away. Had vegan choices also Cakes are lovely and coffee chai was good to Gets super busy but will try lunch one day.
Only dropped in for brunch because of the reviewed photos - they look really great! Explains my disappointment with what came out as a brekky burger, (I could have made easily at home & better) - milky bun with simple eggs & bacon. The bun was the exception. I was thrown off and sorely disappointed though the service was great & atmosphere was buzzing.
Obviously under staffed, which is not the customer's problem. Stale warm chips together with a cold stack. The casual waitress, who was called in for the day, was extremely helpful but overwhelmed.
Had this cafe while going to the 1000 steps walk, this is one of the best cafes I had. The egg on toast was super fluffy and the milkshake had tons of flavour. Overall everything was a good thumbs up.
The food, service and atmosphere was well presented. However the price of our meals were $25 each. The quantity was not enough and left us being hungry.
We booked a table before going, and needed to sit outdoors as we had our dogs. As there were no outdoor tables when we arrived, I just ordered take away coffee as the outdoor area was also white cramped. Whilst standing inside waiting for the take always, I could see a table became available and my wife sat down with our dogs. I then heard the waiter come in the shop and talk to who appeared to be the manger, after she made reference to my wife. “Oh they just sat themselves down” She then replied “Oh erm ok then…” in not the nicest tone. I then interjected and told them she was with me, that we’d booked a table, but had just ordered takeaway. The waiter was then courteous, but I wasn’t impressed with the initial comments. Looks like they had a bit of an attitude of “we’re a super busy cafe, and who do you think you are just sitting yourselves down…”. That was our first visit and I don’t think we’ll be going back.
If you're a foodie like I am, you won't want to miss this absolute gem that has been repeatedly featured as one of the top cafes in the Dandenong Ranges area!
I hosted a Ranges Women In Business Meet-up here and we were given a large comfy booth of our own.
The place is beautiful; stylishly white and bright with gorgeous displays of bottles on the back wall and coffee products and plants for sale on the front wall. And it smelled like a sweet bakery!
I enjoyed a butterscotch and raspberry pour-over coffee and the smashed avocado toast with poached egg. The avocado smash had delicious mint and pickled zucchini in it! SO good!
The waitstaff were lovely and attentive, keeping both still and sparkling water jugs full for us.
Highly recommend coming here and their sister café, Maria, in Upwey.
What a great place!
Went here for my anniversary brunch. Had a table outside, but not in the hot sun. The food was absolutely delicious. As good as any cafe that I've eaten at anywhere.
The staff were friendly, and the service was good, without being intrusive.
The meals were a good size (and, as you can see, presented beautifully), and the coffee was fantastic. The meal choices were put together creatively, with an international feel.
Lorna is an unassuming place, in a little local group of shops, but they are doing it well.
Definitely at the top of my list of places to eat at, when I'm in the area.
Thank you for helping to make our day so special.
Nice little cafe - not best location for parking.food ok - a bit showy and trying hard to be more than it needs to be. But tasty.
Awesome! Had chicken waffles for the first time! Delicious! Friendly staff! Will go again! Thanks
Really enjoy the vibe, food quality and overall service. Would go again:) the gluten free brownie was delicious!
Really nice coffee. Nice and clean with a fresh atmosphere. Fantastic service, plenty of friendly happy staff, felt really welcome.
A great casual experience with well thought dishes especially the southern fried chicken waffle and the lamb shoulder lentil egg bake. Atmosphere is smooth with down tempo chill grooves
Such a lovely cafe with amazing breakfast & lunch options different to normal fare. Has a good selection of veg and vegan options. Great brewed chai & hot drinks. They even have homemade crumpets for little ones & wonderful sweet bites to take away.
Great coffee, they have a huge selection including the choice of a brewed Chai Latte and powdered Chai Latte amoung many others.
The staff are always friendly and I haven't had any issues with any orders going wrong.
One of the best cafe experiences I’ve had in a long time. Amazing service, amazing coffee, great range of food, and a very nice ambience. Couldn’t recommend more! 11/10
The coffee was good, but I do wish the service was warmer. Plus, they heard Jake as "Jimmy" which was funny.
Loved it location, the food, ambience and service! If you are looking to enjoy and experience a menu spread that brings more to the table than the stock standard stereotypical Melbourne brunch menu, has a solid vegan menu for friends and family who are sensitive to this that and the other, and looking for a location outside of 20kms from the CBD, Lorna Cafe is it. Another surprise for us was the discovery that they catered for large tables fairly easily, 6 to 10 per booth. Perfect for mini family affairs for brunch! Looking forward to sampling the rest of the menu this season and their sister cafes too!
