Little Growling Cafe reviews
54Small Cafe, we were lucky to get a seat for a quick coffee on a busy Sunday morning. Very nice coffee. Didn't order food but everything we saw on other tables looked great so looking to come back for food some time
Good coffee and really yum sandwich. Although the rest of the day felt disgusted as it had way too much cheese and butter. I am sure there are ways of making it yum. Still a really good place to go.
This cafe located in a beautiful place near a creek. They have an open play area outside which is fenced where your kids can play while you're enjoying your coffee! Very family friendly, even you can arrange a birthday party there. Totally loved ot. Customer service is also awesome. Coffee is average though.
Great food, great coffee and great service and now for the but.there is next to nothing in Tarneit. Tarneit as a suburb is garbage this cafe needs to move out from the land sales office. Grow up from little growling and be the big grown up cafe it knows it wants to be. Rent a real sized space, and expand. Events in this space are completely cramped in this space is far to small for this expanding suburb that currently has next to nothing to offer the residents. We want and need more.
Mumbai toastie is simply delicious and now that they serve beer it's perfect for summer catch up.kids can play in the park adjoining.
Great inclosed little cafe and park. Unfortunately every time we are there the outside park is full of rubbish and the bins are overflowing. But the coffee is always great and the staff are lovely
My friends and I took our kids mainly for the playground and ordered coffee. Maybe it was an off day for the barista, but wow, none of our drinks were nice, it wasn't even mixed properly. My mocha I threw away after a few sips, the hot chocolate barely had any flavour and the chai latte was not nice. I don't think I would try cafe again.
Amazing service with customer friendly staff. Nice spread with lots of kids food option. Must visit of visiting western suburbs
Attended the Little Growling Cafe this morning and was not impressed at all by the service and quality of food. Ordered 2 latte's, a babyccino, a croissant (with butter and toasted) and some protein balls.
Was first presented with "two" babyccinos - one in a mug and one in a take away cup - the barista said 'oh I did an extra one by mistake, please take it on the house' - thought nothing of it, so had the froth off both babyccinos (because that’s the best part for a toddler).
Shortly after was brought our croissant and protein balls by the main manager of the store (and the one who took my initial order), to which she slammed the plates on the table and said, 'here you go' (which I thought was weird). The 'toasted' croissant was anything but, and cold in the middle and butter I asked for was non-existent. Didn't bother asking for it purely just based off the attitude I’d received from the her when she’d served it.
Then we were brought our 2 lattes’ (by the same manager serving us – not the barista), and then she'd realised we had 2 babyccinos’, to which said 'oh there's two here', I mentioned that we were given two, and also said we'd already had the foam off them, however she just proceeded to take the extra one away for no reason. We were quite puzzled by this, and again the attitude of this manager was not respectable at all.
Little did we know later, that '2nd babyccino' was for the table next to us, when we'd heard them enquiring where their one was. I'd also overheard them having to follow up a couple of times for missing items. Note there were a few customers, however I doubt their busiest time (11: 30am).
It will be great for this manager to acknowledge any mistakes or delays that may've occurred (that's natural in any setting, we aren't perfect) and actually communicate back to customers properly.
Unfortunately, we won't be dining here again primarily due to the customer service experience we received today, which seems to have differed to a previous time we'd visited. Hope other customers don’t experience this in the future as it’s a great venue for the area especially for kids.
I Like the spread here! The staff is friendly and the service is good! Nice place for a good coffee and snacks!
Beautiful coffee and friendly staff. Had a strong flat white the barista made it extremely hot just the way I requested. The park is beautiful just attached to it. Perfect spot for kids and family. Defenately recommend this place for families.
Great little gem, come here most weekends, great sandwiches range, celebrated here for my daughters birthday, great venue and amazing staff! Lovely
We ordered for St.tropez sandwich which is supposed to be vegetarian and were served a chicken based sandwich. It's probably ok for non vegetarian people but it's NOT for strictly vegetarians. Also, ordered a little growling breakfast and had missing sausages. It a No No next time. Also, the service was average. Check you have got what you ordered before you eat if you still end up here!
Their coffee isn't bad in Tarneit, but it was really expensive as I compare to the taste and smell of coffee. They charged almost one dollar for extra shot.
It was a horrible experience for us today!
We tried to book a table as we saw great reviews on internet but no one picked our call in morning, so I decided to visit the cafe and book my table, they told me they have table outside and I told them we are more than 8 people coming. They advised me its okay.
When I arrived there, table was not clean they advised me to sit, I asked them for 2 extra chairs and they said they cant provide, I asked them to clean it and after they done cleaning, some other family occupied the table unknowingly, and I advised staff about it and their response was we cant move the people, I have to do it by myself. I was surprised with this reaction from cafe and it also defeats the whole purpose of me booking table in advance. I told them I cant ask anyone to vacate table as its not my cafe.
I had my family members waiting outside and I had to go somewhere else in the middle of the day.
I understand if the service was busy but then they should have not taken my booking when I personally visited the cafe. It was humiliating for me and my family waiting outside just to see this shocking behaviour from staff. I support local businesses but never have I ever received this kind of rude behaviour.
Nice and cozy Cafe, with very good coffee. Good parking space and park around for kids. It is next to the sales office, so it can be a bit crowded. But coffee is definitely worth it. They also seem to have a lot of yummy food options on their menu.
We ordered the food and it arrived pretty late and one of the order was not even taken. A waitstaff asked us if we were waiting on someother order and we said yes, she haven't asked about our order in the kitchen nor returned back to us and told there was no order placed. Ordered burgers and too much of sauce on tandoori burger and the truffle mushroom burger. Expensive burgers and still no sign of original truffle feels like the sauce from coles or woolies. Also no sauce provided with the chips.
A BIG NO if you plan to host events especially kids birthday party. $650 for 2.5 hour venue only and $350 very basic Kmart and bigw decor was a rip off to top up. Looks welcoming with attached park etc, and Ok for weekend brekky with family but a total disappointment otherwise. No demarcation or effort to mark a private event after hours- our party was throughout bombarded with unwelcome guests and birthday party kids had to wait on the planned activities of pony ride, face painting and baloons etc.
Owner lady wasn't too welcoming, cold behaviour. Nice Central location but not good management. Wouldn't recommend at all for kids parties.
Edit post owner comments - Yes the venue was available for more hours, but glad I took it at 3: 30 (after cafe is supposed t be closed) and yet got so many unwanted guests, if I took it before would have been more problematic to manage guests. Also ended at 6 could not have been longer as you had only 1 outdoor light provided.
For decor if this is over and above what was asked, you need to relook at what you do. Crumpled joint table cloth, flower sticks, flimsy banner - this is nott what we envisioned. My bad, but I learnt from my mistake. Thank you so much.
Nice little local cafe offering a simple burger based menu with some heathy options. We ordered a chicken and a cheese burger with fries. Burgers were excellent, well loaded, fresh ingredients and presented with individual baskets of near perfect fries. Prices were reasonable, café was clean and well laid out. Should become a locals favourite.
Nice and cozy atmosphere. Service is great, food and coffee is of good quality.
Have returned with my parents and we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast together.
