Linaker Art Deco Motel (Formally Historical Nursing Hostel) reviews
25Really good accommodation for a great price. Very happy we stayed here and would definitely stay again next time we're in town.
Awesome stay very helpful any time loved our time here will be back best caretaker i have ever meet
The hotel was not heated at all in the middle of winter and the room smelt. We could not stay at the hotel and requested a refund. It was initially processed but the card was then recharged.
Above average, nice if you like quiet. Potential to be spuced up paint and spring cleaned and Upgrade the floor lounge seating. Maybe more info in rooms on resterants ecg can use. Maybe interact with restersnt at place direct next door. But all up a good place
I am absolutely appalled after my stay here. Management were continuously arguing, yelling and screaming abuse at each other with the foulest language my little one has even been exposed to. She was very scared and still trying to calm her down. I’m sorry for the bad review to the owners but my little one is still very scared 2 Hours after we have driven away from the place. Lovely town and would love to come back to the area but unless new management is sought I will never consider staying at this motel again.
I rarely use any hotels etc.this might have been a first even, was easy to book, talk too and organise a late book in.room was more than adequate and price was fair. Hotel reminds me of the shining.caretaker was a likeable helpful character. Highly reccomend.
Arrived after a long drive from the Blue mountains.
The concierge Dean was very helpful checking us into the motel.
We are very comfortable and enjoying the quirky Art Deco environment.
Grateful for a clean spacious motel to relax with rain on the way
Under new management. Lovely place to stay. Clean and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed the breakfast. Jason the new manager went out of his way to be very accomodating
Scammed by new owners. I booked this hotel via Airbnb and paid $165. Upon arrival I was told that although they received my booking and had me booked in, they said they didn’t receive payment and made me pay again (this time $137) and told me to check with Airbnb. I requested a refund via Airbnb after my stay (of the smaller amount, I let them keep the $165) and the motel still won’t refund me. $137 is pretty good price for the stay, it’s a charming place to stay but if you choose to book here, do not pay in advance as you’ll be paying twice. I will be disputing this double charge further
Friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms. The building has a real old world charm with an interesting history. We will book this motel again next time we visit Beechworth.
First impression where not the best the building is old and needs some tlc. That’s about where the negative stops. The staff where very friendly and helpful. We got the spa room. It was a little old but was very clean and everything worked. The bed was comfy and I reckon I had one of the best night sleeps iv had in a long time.
Friendly staff, let me check in early with out paying early check in fee, nice area, bed was hard, good price, would come back
Under New Management. We were a little worried as we booked before we reviewed it, (the reviews not nice) but the whole experience was awesome. The couple that have taken over are amazingly helpful and catered for all our needs. Recommended all the sites and amusement they had good feedback from previous tenants. Happy to chat and very friendly. Highly recommend
Old historic Nurses quarters, part of the grounds of Beechworth Asylum. Comfortable rooms. You can walk to the George Kerford and Asylum Ghost tours and take in the history of the grounds.
Interesting accommodation, although our room was very tidy and clean, the place looks very scary from the outside.
Fabulous value for money for a road trip from Sydney to Melbourne. With a brother who snores the twin rooms with.shared bathroom was absolutely perfect for our needs. Ours didn’t have air con but a fan was enough.both room had a TV and comfortable beds and our bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated. The new owners took over only four days earlier and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A bargain at $155 total for the two rooms and more importantly the thick walls and abilities to close the door to both rooms resulted in a snore free night for me. Highly recommended
Very quiet. Art Deco. Old nurses quarters for the old Beechworth Asylum. We stayed on the top floor corner suite.
Good size room & bathroom. Proper sized, comfortable bed. Friendly & helpful staff. Secure storage for bikes, but located at the top of a long hill!
Place is extremely poor, booked an air-conditioned room, but when we arrived they said that the lower two floors do not have air conditioning. Initially they only provided a desktop fan. The staff tried to convince me that there was centrally configured air-conditioning, until I pointed out the lack of vents in the room. Totally trying to mislead, without being honest.
The cups in the room were dirty (absolutely ridiculous during covid). The included breakfast is a joke, couple of slices of frozen white bread and 4 small cereal packs with a UHT milk.
Do not book here unless you have no choice!
Set in a great parkland with many great trees. Rooms were large and clean, bathroom very good lots of hot water.
