Super friendly crew and the owner was so cheerful, and of course, great food! Came here for a friend’s birthday event, so we booked in advance. There are both indoor and outdoor seating space. The lamb skewers are tasty! They also have vegan options and the hummus is so yum!

Authentic Mediterranean and Egyptian food Galore.
It was hard to choose as all dishes on the menu looked so yummy.
Settled for lamb cutlets with rice and fattoush. Oh boy, tasted so great with the fresh salad, crispy bread, and, of course the perfectly cooked lamb cutlets that melt in your mouth

Amazing food, great ambiance, excellent service and very friendly staff. Owner checked in periodically to have a laugh. What more can a greedy glutton like myself ask for.

I went to layalina in ramadan hungry and looking for a place with a taste from home. The place was amazing and the owner makes sure you get the best experience in his restaurant. The place gave me what I was looking for and more. It is an amazing place and the food, shisha and tea was amazing. I will be going there again for sure. Thank you

We've eaten here several times and also take away during lockdown. The food is excellent and staff are friendly. Nice atmosphere for a date or group gathering, plus casual outside. Would definitely recommend!

Delicious food, spacious table inside, classic Egyptian music, comfortable. Lamb shank tagine really yummy, béchamel tagine, khoshari all winners. Watermelon juice, yum. Friendly, relaxed and warm place. A real treat.

One of the best restaurants in Lygon Street, the owners know their food, their service and their customers. Having been here twice now, we can't wait to come back again. Food is A+ Service A+ and FunA+ Dinner and a Magic show if your lucky! Will be back again and again.

Amazing Egyptian authentic food, Kebda eskandrani taste perfect and the vine leaves with kawarah is something you can’t miss, also we tried shisha with apple and grape flavour which was just perfect after dinner

We dined at this restaurant with a group. The food was delicious, service on point. Everything Tom our liking. Highly recommend this restaurant, will definitely be returning. The mix grill was our favourite. The meat was juicy, well cooked and perfectly seasoned. Compliments to the chef!

The Owner was very welcoming especially when he knew we came all the way from Bendigo, great food & atmosphere.we will definitely be back.

It's good food and the waitstaff are very lovely, but our food took over an hour to arrive. We understood that it was going to take a while because it was dinner rush and busy, but there were tables sat down after us had almost finished their meals by the time a waiter came and checked up on us if we were waiting on food (about 50mins after we ordered). He came back and told us it was going to be 3-5mins, and then 15 minutes passed before we asked to check on it, and were told by another waiter it was going to be another 10-20 minutes.

In all that time we saw at least 3 charcoal grills being taken to other tables.:/

The staff were very apologetic and lovely, but we would have appreciated at least an offer of compensation for our (non alcoholic) drinks or salad side, or for a complimentary desert or drink. The manager/owner likes to interact with tables in a very cordial manner, but it just feels very empty when you're not following through with that service.

I'm not usually petty about these things, because I've been a waiter for years and I understand it's hectic, but something like this is just bad form.
