Our idea of good weekend these days is a road trip and lunch out to either the Yarra Valley or Red Hill region. Levantine Estate used to be one of our absolute “go to’s” in the Yarra Valley but after a recent visit couldn’t help but feel they have completely lost their way. While I’m more than happy to spend top dollar on a top experience it felt like Levantine were just disrespecting their customers. Exorbitantly overpriced wine of very mediocre quality (at least the wine we chose) was just the beginning. It was the food that had both me and my wife looking around to see if we were on camera in some kind of practical joke. We ordered a substantial variety of “tasting” dishes from from the menu like the $50 duck and were so blown away when a couple of tiny morsels arrived at the table. I get they are supposed to be tasting plates but it was just so extreme. Such ridiculously tight portions of highly overpriced food that saw us (2 people) spend around $500 on food and wine and we both walked out of there feeling like we hadn’t even eaten. It’s not that the food is bad, it’s not. And it’s got to be said the service was warm and on point. It’s just so ridiculously overpriced and stingy that it almost feels like you’re being robbed. Especially when I know what Levantine used to be. If you are going to charge premium dollars, just make sure the food and wine offering is reflective of that or you’ll have a lot more customers walking out feeling like we did.

Flew in via helicopter, and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Wine and food was delicious, and service was fantastic. I would have preferred larger portions.

Waited for an hour for the entry arrived, another 45 mins for the main. The toughest pork cutlets I have ever had for the cost of $49. I even have to ask for a sharper knife to cut the pork, but when you raise up your hand None of the waiters want to see you!

I love the vibes & atmosphere of Levantine Hill Restaurant. The food was delicious. We tried seven-course meals with wine. People who work here are friendly, and I love their hospitality. Thank you for such an excellent service.

The cashier didn’t know what items were ordered when we went to settle the bill. We had to wait such a long time for the drinks and it wasn’t served til after food was brought to the table and by that time we had eaten most of the dishes. And the portions, awfully small! Very dissatisfied!
For the price, not worth the experience at all!

Our visit started off fantastic at the cellar door with a very attentive and informative gentleman, he took us through to our table, and that's were it started to go down hill. Service was exceptionally slow, we could have easily ordered more wine had there been better service, and when we did get wine it certainly wasn't a standard pour (and yes I am taking the size of the glass into account) each drink was easily finished within 3 sips. Food portions do not match food prices even for fine dining. Ended up leaving and going to Four Pillars for fast service, more food and more drinks.

Thanks to amazing service from the gentleman on entry we purchased 2 bottles of wine to take home. Spent approx $500 for two people.

This place is stunning with great views indoor and outdoor. The wine tasting was a good experience, though their wine offerings were not to my liking. The service is sub par for the price you pay. While the quality of the food is exceptional, the quantity for the premium price they charge could be considered distasteful. Overall this is a fine dining experience with great views. But if you are looking to fill your belly without breaking your wallet, this place is not it.

Pay $$$ for disappointment. I was looking forward to our lunch reservation with friends after a great morning at other venues in the region. From the get-go it seemed like the staff were distracted starting with the wine tastings through to dining and payment. We received one menu on the table for the four of us - a bit strange. Then we were served after one of the wait staff commented that we looked confused. We made our order and waited for not too long for food. When the food did arrive, our plates were placed down in front of us however the wait staff said nothing, avoided eye contact and were constantly looking at the other side of the room. We looked down at the servings and our jaws followed - not in a good way. The serving sizes did not match up with the prices we paid. Not questioning the quality of the food, it was tasty, I just wish I had more than 2 pieces of pasta (both the size of a 50c coin) on my plate for $27 plus a 10% weekend surcharge. Maybe the staff were distracting themselves of the discomfort of having to serve tiny portions knowing how much they're being charged.

Wine 95/100
food 3/100
Just try wine and you will save 500 bucks and the good mood of the whole day.

What a great lunch we had!
This was a special lunch out for my wife's birthday and the food and the team at Levantine Hill did not disappoint. The service was friendly and helpful without bearing overbearing or officious - and the kitchen delivered a truly delightful lunch. We went home happy and satiated - thank you!

Highly recommended.

Great staff who pulled out all the stops to make it happen for us on a special day. Boaz was brilliant. Jody and Amie, made sure the all the prep was done behind the scenes. The food was delicious. If I had one criticism it would be that there wasn't enough food considering the cost per head.

We had a fabulous bottle of wine outdoors here during our tour of the region. Great art outside to make conservation and to make this place unique.

Food was nice. But service is a bit poor for $200+pp fine dining meal. Maybe there was a big birthday party going on or just short staffed. Waited for ages between dishes. Glasses weren't topped up for more than an hour until I have to ask. Drinks orders were forgotten? And had to be reminded.

Iread the reviews before booking a table and still decided to give it a go.what a mistake, it was an extremely disappointing experience.

Great ambiance, impressive scenery, and very low-class food with average service, which I would never expect at the "fine dining" place.

The tartar was killed with a mayo flavor, and the dessert tasted like perfume, a piece of lamb the size of a coin.and I had to pay $400 for this absolutely spoiled Christmas eve lunch.
With a country pub level of service, on top of this.this is embarrassing.
