Lentil As Anything, Thornbury

Everyone needs to go to lentils as anything at least once in their life. I left a longer review on their abbotsford place.but yes great initiative, great food and great staff.support this business!

Great concept in paying what you think and giving a donation. The food is delicious, the meals are not huge but I just ordered more and pair more. I think its worth going and giving these guys a good donation for the great work they do. Great food too and live music! Can't go wrong.

Love the cafe but felt it was lacking choice but it's a community cafe and I just loved it for so many reasons. The risotto was amazing!

My favourite restaurant. Recommend getting there early or late if you want a good seat. Avoid going around 7pm, as you likely wont find anywhere to sit. The volunteers are always super friendly. This restaurant always has a great vibe. Highly recommend!

Friendly Staff, healthy food. I couldn't see any Lentils though. The organiser of the sewing club was a little rude though.

The lady who interrupted my meal to yell in my face about the "lentils grocery store" they had going out front was really unpleasant.

I love lentils, i love the concept and the food never disappoint me! The inconvenience market in here is absolutely a wonderful idea! Even thou the veggies are not super fresh, you are able to pay for it as you feel is right. So why not rescue some food!:)

Have been to this place a few times now, the food is actually very good, at quite a high standard. The atmosphere is also great, kinda hippy meets functional. I was presently surprised as we have eaten at the convent LAA and it has never been food to recommend.just edible but we liked the concept and location. This LAA is a whole other animal, delicious food and a good balanced menu, kombucha etc and cocktails in the evenings.

Delicious food. As per other lentil as anything eateries you can pay 25,12 or nothing. This movement is fantastic and the food came out hot and delicious. Dessert was a stunningly good carrot cake. We didn’t get served quickly but they were very busy.

Only complaint? The music was DEAFENING. Easily could have cracked it down a notch and still been amazing.

Will definitely return.

Great vegetarian food, friendly staff. A must visit when in Melbourne. Would be great if other cities & towns had Lentil as anything. Will defiantly visit again.

3-4* actually - depending what's on the Menu. The overuse of Salt in many dishes, overrides the health benefits that could be obtained. Some of the regular, paid? , Thornbury staff need training in basic Manners. One Night Manager is quite regularly rude and flippant. And 1-2 staff are also only animated and kind when dealing with their next level Manager, other Staff they like, or their own friends dropping by for a Meal. For this reason, I prefer the Convent location in Collingwood.

This place is just the best. Definitely is a must visit, if you haven't been. The people here come from all walks of life, helping each other survive in this crazy world. Go check it out and maybe you can also help somebody with a meal or two as well

Recently dined here with a large group of people. Unfortunately there were baby woodlice or cockroaches all over the table. We spotted a dozen in a couple of minutes.

How awesome is this place? ! Live music, art, culture, literature, community and food. All rolled into one place.

Beautiful place, very humble and tasty food. Open kitchen to see the chef's cooking away. Pay as you feel, definitely worth every dollar and more!

Love it here. Staff are friendly & inviting. Food is exceptional every single time I've eaten here. You pay what you think the meals are worth. I always give that much extra as its all about Paying it Forward. Staff there don't get paid.

The original of the accessible and low impact restaurants. Many rooms, each with its own atmosphere. Great coffee too!
