I love my local Lentils in Thornbury. I've loved eating there in person, eating take away during Covid, singing Kirtan, going to kids' storytime and doing other stuff over the years. I hope it doesnt shut down during Covid because it is a special place that provides a unique and much needed service.

It was an absolute pleasure being at Lentils Thornbury. We were a group of friends and each one loved the vegan menu on offer. The vibe of the place is so positive and to top it off they let our friends walk in to volunteer and wash some dishes. It was an awesome experience. One of a kind for sure. Must visit!

Love the concept of how it works. They open for lunch, close then open for dinner. Each day is a different menu with whatever the chef comes up. You "donate" rather than pay for the meal whether it's 15 20 or contribute in a different way. It's more of a honesty system. Their coffee is also not bad with oat/almond/soy alternatives.

One of the best food and customer service in Melbourne. This place definitely deserves shout out, love, respect and some generous contributions from patrons. I love that the food is vegan, and a fascinating fusion of South-Indian- Sri Lankan and Continental. Love this place and many kudos to all the volunteers, staff and management running it with grace and making people come together over the healthy deliciousness they deliver. Thank you

It’s really cool. Good vibes good food. They even have a piano you can jam on. It has very solid keys, very satisfying to play on.

Everything was satisfactory, but the service repeatedly coming up to us asking for a chai which we said no to multiple times. I ordered the hommos plaste which was delicious but absolutely too big! The whole point of this joint is to not waste food but they definitely served to much. On the opposite side the cake I ordered after was cut too small but I understand they need to serve many people. The idea that you pay what you feel is a great idea and overall was a good experience.

Today i came here to have my meal. They had prepared Breaded buffalo tofu served with garlic sauce and salad. I liked it so much they i couldn't resist myself and searched for the chef. Got to know that chef Cham had prepared it. I would really love to recommend chef and the place.

The idea of providing an accessible meal is indeed very admirable. Unfortunately Lentil As Anything seems to have degenerated somewhat over the years. The mushroom risotto I had tasted like the entire UHT soy milk carton had been incorporated into the dish, it was so, so bland. I'm a soy boy myself so I can assure you this isn't a shortcoming of my palate. My friend had the lasagna which was very dry and tasted of tomato paste concentrate with no other discernible flavor. Cheap, tasty vegan cooking is pretty simple, hopefully there's an improvement in the future.

Beautiful vegan restaurant. The staff has a bunch of volunteers who are very friendly. The whole idea of the restaurant is everyone deserves a meal, which gives a great feeling of humanity. It opens at 11am to 3pm in the morning and 6pm-9pm during night. There is live music. There is also an inconvenience store which is open from 11am-6pm. The whole place is pay as you feel. It doesn't mean free but being ethical. The menus vary from dosa, wraps, veggie bowl and yummy cakes for dessert.they also have a bar and cafe in the front,

The menu for lunch today didn't contain anything I could eat (low-FODMAP gf vegan) and my server insisted I talk to the lunch chef, who found a way to toss something together for me. It felt so wonderful as I was ready to not eat, but the staff insisted on getting me good food I could eat. It was yummy and it meant a lot to me.
