Le Petit Marché by Entrecote / Entrecôte

Ok this place really knows their way around a steak. The dining area is busy but not too cramped. There was a piano player who seemed to be making tunes up as he went along but it wasn't intrusive on the conversation at the table. Food wise we tried several dishes having opted for a 3 course set menu deal. All the dishes were prepared and presented faultlessly and the flavours were on point. The steak deserves a special mention, being perfectly cooked to medium rare with a really good crust. The bearnaise sauce was probably the best I've had here in Melbourne (and I almost always order bearnaise!). Finished off nicely with a creme brulee. A great occasion.

Came for a birthday, 14 people. Very well organised, service is well trained and the food was excellent. Couldn't really fault it & the set up in the restaurant is also very good.

Wow! Went last night for our Wedding Anniversary. Loved everything from the food, service, decor, music and ambiance. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Love the place. 3rd time back, live in Daylesford. But closed not public holidays. Update your sites. I'm passed off. But will be back. Normally 5 star.

Got the steak sandwich and the sliced roast beef baguette. The chips inside the steak sandwich was not impressive at all and was pretty soggy. The steak inside was good and so was the sauce. The roast beef sando was pretty good as well. Not sure if I’d come back but would recommend to try at least once.

Loved their basque burnt cheesecake when you had just opened up but they changed recently

Very bad customer service. Ive ordered a short black with a dash of hot milk and got instead a long black. So I kindly said this isn’t what I’ve ordered and the girl replied very rude and insisted that it was my fault.
After she made me the short black I’ve asked if she had a sachet of suger, she replied “NO”.
Never going back there!

I absolutely adore this place! The coffee is excellent and the staff are so so friendly. If you are in the area and feel like 'a taste of France' Le Petit Marché is a must. With such great coffee, excellent service and the signature 'Mitraillette' (steak baguette with fries and special sauce) you can not go wrong. They also stock delicious, authentic French confectionary items which are a great idea for gifts, if you have the willpower not to eat them on the way home.don't judge me! I will come again but next time it will be with friends.

Broadsheet recently posted an article on restaurants in Melbourne with the best sandwiches. Looking at their advertised image entrecôte looked like it had it all, golden chips, perfected cooked steak a delicious sauce on top.

We live in the 5km radius range and arranged to visit today where we could go get our food fresh. We ordered two steakfritte sandwiches $40. After paying we walked to the waiting area to our disgust …. The team in front had previously cooked all ingredients and just assembled our sandwiches. It looked nothing like the pictures that sold us a perfectly cooked steak sliced into strips. These were cubed over cooked cold steak cooked god knows how long ago … both the chips and steak were cold.

Quite disappointing for a $20 sandwich feels like a cheap money making scheme there was no care nor love into their food. It’s just so disappointing for people going out of their way to support local businesses.

Everyone was EXCEPTIONAL. So lovely, funny, humble and really felt like my friend and I were back dining in Paris near the seine river. The food was so incredible as well. Thank you entrecôte!

This place was amazing, the atmosphere is really good and the staff was well mannered, well presented. The experience was all fantastic. The food was excellent and the cocktail really nice too. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who likes French traditional bistro food. Not cheap but not overly expensive. I will definitely be looking at going back for special occasions.

Food is great. Service is great. Went there for our 1 year anniversary. The texture of the soufflé was perfect and left me wanting more. This was only the entree. Highly recommend

The place is crammed in indoors. The signature steak is dry and chewy even when cooked medium rare. Avoid for now. I think they will be moving locations soon and have more of a menu selection and perhaps the quality of the food will improve. House Pinot noir is nice but house Shiraz is rough as.

I very politely commented on their Instagram that the staff member in the post wasn't wearing their mask properly so THEY BLOCKED ME. #socialmediamanagerfail please learn to take polite feedback.

A very disappointing visit to Entrecôte on Sunday has ensured we will not be returning customers. We had a little of our food and champagne to finish but the Manager (Angel) was adamant she needed the table back to set up for lunch service.
There are so many ways of saying the same thing and we found her to be quite rude, abrupt and argumentative. If handled differently, we could have been up and out in a minute or two and still loyal customers.
Good luck in your new premises in Prahran but we will not be visiting and are longer fans of Entrecôte.

Entertaining.
Food when good, is very good! But some dishes were just okay, consistency could be a bit of an issue here.
There is casual bar seating area, the restaurant for more formal dining, and the takeaway area at back of building.
Takeaway Steak baguette has been the best food I had from there, though husband enjoyed his fish dish when we ate in, my dish was cold. Chips are good, when you get them hot and freshly cooked.
Coffee is okay, the skill to make it with almond milk is lacking.
Service is very attentive, and polite, as one would expect at this level of restaurant.

Super cozy place, i liked the atmosphere and the decor.very friendly staff and quick service. Delicious food and The quantity of the dish is satuuated. I highly recommend. I went for a breakfast and absolutely i will back for launch.
