Very friendly service, great food & drinks with quite extensive options. Gnocchi & Italian Doughnuts especially recommended

OMG nomnomnom we love it here - have been many times and will always be back - we are always delighted! Highly recommend the cocktails and seafood.

We have been to L'atingano a few times since it's inception, first as a Peruvian restaurant then as Italian cuisine. The current owners have nailed it with a no fuss menu and great choice of Aus and imported beers and wines at reasonable prices. My wife and mother in law had the seafood dish with it's generous serves of mussels and delicious sauce mopped up with toasted bread, they raved about it. I had the osso buco with mash, it was tender, rich and sublime. I also mopped up the sause. On Sunday evenings there is a band which changes from Sunday to Sunday and provides good music. The decor has also been improved as has the soundproofing, so talking at your table is easy.
We had desserts, the tiramisu and cannoli, just delicious.
We will be back, this was a very enjoyable experience.

Ate dinner here by myself, staff are polite and food was exceptional, it's a nice restaurant for a night of fancy dining.

Absolutely wonderful food. The smaller side rooms are best if you want to talk but the whole place is a gem.

Ivanhoe Pilates Studio had our student Christmas party last night. A wonderful room to ourselves, (important as we're a boisterous lot), excellent amount and varied food. Great friendly service. Paying individually was easy. Thank you to all for a great night!

Excellent service. Delicious food. A few nice halal options (vegetarian, seafood) but many dishes and deserts include alcohol. Would be nice to have a few more vegetarian options. Quite pricey but a beautiful atmosphere in the old Ivanhoe firehouse.

Food was fine but for gods sake turn the band down! Some nonsense two piece guitar band had their speakers running at 11! Could not hear myself talk. This made a nice restaurant become a horrible experience.

I'll make excuses for no photos right now - I was with a new group of people and frankly, didn't want to be 'that person' that snaps pics of everyones plates. We came here on a Sunday night and it was busy. A table of 12 in what is a reasonable sized restaurant. The cuisine is Italian / Mediterranean and with that comes a menu that has something for everyone. Sharing platters. Pizza. Great selection of entrees and mains. Pasta. And of course dessert that although we didn't order, I will return to test out their Affogato.
Everyone seemed to order something different and I chose the Vitello Con Gorgonzola which was cooked superbly. The portion size was generous and the flavours blended nicely together. Not overly rich for me.
I found the ambience quite charming and although a little noisy with the number of diners, there was a vibe casual dining enjoyment.
This restaurant does cater for kids and is wheelchair accessible however, I would recommend you let them know when booking.
Dietaries are catered for - just let them know.
Staff were fabulous. Very attentive and great knowledge of the entire menu. It is not BYO but you can be assured that the wine list is extensive and you can tailor something to your meal easily.
Carparking is pretty good but just watch the signs for how long you can park for.
I will definitely return - the Affogato has my name on it.

Sensational food an wine. The music at Sunday lunch time was really pleasant too. Different from most Italian restaurants though the plates are not big, so order entries and desserts (which I didn't but maybe I should have), what would make it not the cheapest place, but good anyway.

Poor service and not great food.
We booked a table for 12 for my daughter's 21st birthday. Bottom line - we had to ask for our food several times, eventually got served our main courses 2 hours after we arrived (we left about 15 minutes later) and the manager was belligerent and unhelpful throughout. I won't be going back.
The story - we knew a couple of the party would be late so we placed our orders for the table about 15 minutes after we arrived and said that we would share entrees with them, but we didn't want to delay too long. For unknown reasons the manager waited a further 30 minutes (until all parties had arrived) to send the order to the kitchen, so the entrees showed up about 75 minutes after we had sat down. In the meantime I had to ask for bread as we were all hungry, but they had no hesitation coming repeatedly to ask for further drink orders. We sat over empty entree plates for 30 minutes, at which point I asked why we hadn't yet had the plates cleared and the main course served and the manager said that people were still eating (they were not). I followed up on the main course several times, finally offering to take my party away and feed them all pizza if the kitchen was having trouble - at which point the food finally showed up. I have had nice food there in the past, but this was not it. Despite waiting well over 2 hours for our main course, my eggplant was oily and undercooked and my daughter's funghi pizza was soggy and floury.
The manager's excuse was that "he didn't know we were in a hurry".
My daughter, on her special evening, was embarrassed that her friends had to wait 2 hours for their meal.
I live a few minutes walk away, but won't be going back.
