Laksa Town reviews
38Wow wow wow. A hidden gem if you want Malaysian laksa. Broth had so much depth of flavour. 5 stars!
Very flavoursome broths for both the laksas and the prawn noodles. Cheap and authentic Malaysian food.
Ordered rice dish and laksa, rice was uncooked and half heated from microwave, so does the chicken drumsticks.
Their #1 prawn noodles aka har mee aka Penang hokkien mee & their #2 town laksa aka KL curry laksa are authentic and will remind you of home. Their #7 and #9 are also very good. A glass of cendol will round off a great meal. Friendly and polite staff. Efficient. Small place - 3 tables inside, 3 tables outside, each seating 3 persons. Crowded during the weekend, so come during weekdays if you can.
A little secret gem, this place has the most amazing Laksa. I ordered the set meal A which comes with a laksa of your choice, can of drink and 3 spring rolls, it was such good value. Portion was huge, the taste was amazing, possibly the best laksa I have ever eaten. Staff are so lovely, most definitely will be coming back.
Best Laksa I’ve ever tasted! It’s located in a not so inviting place in Clayton but gosh their Laksa is highly recommended. The creaminess with a spicy kick is over the top that you would finish everything in the bowl. The serving size is alot compared to the other ones I’ve tried. The seafoods are fresh. Also tried their spring roll and my kids finished them. Lastly their malaysian milktea (tetarik) is a must try. Better than the mikteas outside! Tip: dont just order 1 tetarik:) nake it two.
Great laksa. And very well priced.
As good as laksa bar and laksa house (both in Melbourne CBD).
I liked this laksa better than laksa king.
I'll definitely be going back.
This is the best I've found south of Melbourne so far.
Nice little resto with true authentic Chinese Malaysia culture experience with its background music and multiple spoken Chinese dialects mixed with some Bahasa. The signature dish, Laksa Town is top-notch. You can get other hard to find dish too such as Kangkong Sotong.
Little shop, big heart!
IMHO, the most authentic Malaysian-style laksa gravy I’ve tasted to date. (Been disappointed too many times with other curry mee pretenders). Best part of this rendition is the fact that they use it as a base for different laksa toppings - seafood, yong tau hoo, chicken, roast pork and fatty beef (pictured).
Place is small but the service is warm and the servings hearty. Each comes with generous bean puffs, green beans, bean sprouts, eggplant, fried fishcake, mix of bee hoon and yellow noodles plus your choice of toppings.
So far, we’ve tried the yong tau hoo, roast pork and today, the beef version. Yong tau hoo could do with some non-fried variety, roast pork could do with a bigger portion, but today’s superior beef was 5 stars. Ended the meal with a kopi-c. On a less freezing day, I’d opt for the kopi-peng (pictured) all day, any day.
Other patrons at neighbouring tables had equal ssrvings of laksa, prawn noodle soup and apparently, the popular duck had sold out. 10/10 will return to try rest of menu.
The yong tau fu laksa and Hokkien mee are so good. The important thing is I don't feel thirsty after eating the food there. Their serving is generous too. I am so full after eating their yong tau fu laksa. Highly recommended.
In term of food quality, 80% similar back to Malaysia just depand which particular state you origin,
Recommended by friends for the laksa & prawn noodle soup, we went for the latter. Place is clean & bright. Menu is shown everywhere so ordering is easy.
Chef is from Ipoh.so it's exciting especially when you can't fly back for your annual food pilgrimage!
Portion is reasonable for that price.so now we go for the dish!
Prove to be good and authentic.next round will go for the Ipoh laksa with cockles!
High recommended if you miss Malaysian food. Another plus.open 7 days a week!
Hidden Gem! Tried numerous laksa joints in Melbourne, and this place is the best in my opinion. Better than many laksas I've had in Malaysia even. A must try when you're in Clayton.
It's yummy let me say the soup or sauce any way you wanna call it.it's yummy, flavoursome broth with the right consistency.
One if the best laksa that i have ever tried in Melbourne.the best place to get simple tasty lunch.especially after swimming ️
Had lunch here today. The staff were run off their feet and with the food they serve, I can understand why. This would be the best laksa I have had in Melbourne by a long way. I chose the roast pork laksa and it was simply delicious.
Been in Malaysia since 2005 and always try laksa when I see it. This is so far the most like Malaysia laksa that I have tried in Melbourne this far. Had the coffee.wow.feeling the taste of Malaysia. Excellent. Apparently only 5 weeks old.
Love the laksa here! Soup was very thick, rich and hearty! Generous with the condiments! Owners and staff were extremely hospitable! Will definitely be back again!
