Laksa & Beer Co (Modern Malaysian Restaurant & Bar) reviews
32 Ordered Char Kway Teow (no Sausage and fish cake) and Chicken Dry Curry Laksa as take away. We were charged a $1 take away fee on top of our order.
The Char Kway Teow still had sauage and fish cake in it, they were never removed. The meal was a tiny portion, despite paying $18.90 and very bland. The Chicken Curry Laksa had a better portion size but was bland and had no flavour at all.
Would have returned but not worth the 20 minutes drive there and back. Will not be ordering again.
What a terrific little find. Lovely lunch, wonderful flavours and nice service. Will be back and highly recommend.
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!
Everyone on our table thought the food and service was great! The additional little gift for myself and my brother in law for our birthdays, was a lovely surprise too. Thank you, we’ll be back!
When in Geelong and looking for a tasty lunch.
Good service and tasty food. I had the beef rendang and found it to be flavoursome and tender. We also had the squid for entree and it was melt in your mouth. Would come again
So so, just so tasty!
I had the chicken laksa, very tasty and a generous serving too.
Highly recommended!
Absolutely fantastic food! This is one of those restaurants where I'll be coming back to try everything on the menu. Both the chicken curry and rendang were fantastic, and good value with a small serving of each easily feeding one person. I wish I had come here sooner.
Really impressed with the food here. The flavouring on the squid entre was on point, leaves you wanting more. The laksa was very flavoursome with decent quality and quality of seafood, which at the $27 price point you wouldn't expect anything less. The char kway teow was good, but serving size was humble. It was busy on a Friday night so we were seated next to the door which kept opening and closing letting in the cold air. Overall a good experience, I might visit during lunch time to try the Hainanese Chicken lunch special.
Great place with friendly staff. Accommodated for me and sat me near the heater as it was cold without me having to ask.
Food was delicious. Highly recommend.
Authentic Malaysian food, good ambience and wonderful staff; I have been waiting for YEARS for a Malaysian restaurant to be opened in Geelong (especially when I can't bother to travel up to Melbourne every time I felt homesick or had cravings) so their establishment brings me a slice of joy every time I come to order. The owners are super lovely people and the food does not disappoint, tastes every bit of home and more. Looking forward to always come back here and get my Malaysian fix.
Great food & excellent beer list; short but well chosen. Certainly worth a return visit or two
We dropped into this place after stumbling across it walking down Ryrie St. Absolutely delicious, I didn't get a photo of the seafood laksa but it looked amazing! Spring rolls and satay sticks so yummy! Will def be back and highly recommend.
Laksa & Beer Co is a hidden gem on Ryrie St. Their seafood Laksa is authentic with a rich base and hits the spot just right! Highly recommend!
