Laksa & Beer Co (Modern Malaysian Restaurant & Bar) reviews
32 Absolutely awesome place with the best laksa I’ve ever had! Just a shame I live in Adelaide and not Geelong otherwise I would be a regular!
Reasonably priced, paid $34 dollars for a large laksa and 2 beers. Can’t complain with that!
Will be back when I’m in town!
Wonderful food (lotus root, milk fried chicken and laksa), Bicycle beer and mocktails delicious - The waitress was so busy but all over it we had a great time thankyou! Will be back for lunchtime specials
Read before your spend money here, unless you don’t mind wasting your money then knock yourself out
Felt like a Laksa while in Geelong and thought I would try this place …walked into a nice looking place and greeted by a nice person at the counter. Thats where this ended for me.
Ordered their special seafood Laksa, priced at $27 which by far makes it the most expensive Laksa I have had.to add to that they slap me with a holiday surcharge and a card payment surcharge which took the cost upto $35 which is an INSANE amount to pay for a Laksa.the best ever Laksa in Melbourne cost me $25
Anyways am always happy to pay a bit more if it tastes good, but good lord was it horrible …broth was weak and tasteless …anyone who thinks their Laksa is good come meet me and I’ll show you how rich a Laksa broth should be.horrible this one was
I would not pay anything for this Laksa. $35 was a rip off.he’ll $27 is a rip off …never eating here
One for the owners/chef …this is your cuisine from your country, representing everything good about your food.at least take pride in it and make it like it should be made
Authentic Malaysian food packed full of flavour. Value for money, excellent presentation and customer service was amazing.
Very tasty
Happy with everything we ordered, good vegetarian options as well. Friendly service
Travelling past Geelong and thought we'd try our luck here but bad idea. Took more than an hour for them to give us the 'house special fried rice' which barely had any protein and small portions for the $20 price. Menu said satay skewers and pickled veges should come with it but were missing. We also ordered a char kway theow which was okay but nothing worth the hour's + wait.
Exceptionally good Malaysian food! Geelong is so lucky to have you. Authentic and delicious. We live hours away and will be back soon. Great hospitality, thank you.
Never thought about mix up laksa and beer together but it was a good combination. Should try it if you have opportunities travel to Geelong. Parking is easy, assess to the table is easy but ordering process is still very old school, waiting for her to come forward during busy period required some claim moment.
Really good service. The seafood is delicious and fresh. It's a very satisfactory experience
Good Laksa available here in Geelong. I had the Char Siu Laksa but their signature dish is their Seafood Laksa which looks very large.
As a Malaysian I gotta say. The Laksa here is LEGIT. Smooth, and rich and seafood version comes with Huge and Fresh Tiger prawns. Definite Recommend!
What a great place Laksa and Beer is. Nice beers on tap and in the can, delicious authentic Malaysian food. We went twice in 3 days.
Great food with good quality ingredients. A welcome addition to Geelong food options as there are not many Malaysian options
Clean comfortable space, chill music, simple minimalist aesthetic, tasty food and friendly service. We are happy to have found this place in Geelong and will definitely be back
The nicest food we’d had in ages.vegan options for us were perfect, lovely freshly made spring rolls, delicious mocktails and by far the best laksa we’ve had in Australia - rival only to the one in Kuala Lumpur airport many years ago, which we’ve never forgotten A couple nice Malaysian cookery books up on the counter too which was a nice touch to flick through while waiting.we have moved not far away so will now be our regular favourite. 5*
I have been dining here several times, and they never let me down. Best laksa in Geelong, fresh ingredients, consistence quality and well-priced. What is seen in the picture is what will get in the restaurant’s dishes are well-presented semi-fine dining standards in Malaysian restaurants this is a rare find. There is plenty of laksa selection; therefore, laksa and beer company best suits their name. The young Malaysian owner is friendly and helpful; he may look young but knows how to run a high-standard restaurant well. As a half-Malaysian, I feel proud to bring my friend and family here.
Good work Laksa & Beer!
Pretty good laksa! Broth is pretty delicious one down side is they the mussels doesn’t taste that flavourful and the scallops are a bit under.
Other than that can’t fault it!
Also the fried chicken is a must try!
Best Laksa I think I’ve ever had
Curry chicken.amazing!
Needed to finish a dish and asked for rice 3 times and it came 10 mins later. Rice!
Cha Kuetiow - good but lacking a bit of flavour
I didn't expect too much but boy I was wrong. The food is of fine dining quality with an excellent price. I had sweet and spicy chicken with salad and rice. It was crispiest chicken on the outside and so tender inside. The flavours were just amazing and perfectly balanced. I know it's a big call it's going to one of most talked about food places gtown. I can't wait to try their Laksas and other dishes.
I liked the restaurant style, but it didn't feel Malaysian. I think that day they were short of staff, only one waitress, very friendly, but very busy, time to bring the food was 15-20 min.
Food was tasty, but that was a small portions even though if that was a large plate and price aren’t worth it.
The only good thing was the extensive drink menu?
