Lagotto reviews
38The lemon spaghettoni with prawns and the gramigna with duck sausage was SUBLIME. And the Wagyu Tartare is the BEST I've ever had. Can't wait to come back.
We went the $95 Chef menu, which was a decent amount of food. More than we anticipated. The Tuna spaghetti was interesting and something new we'd not experienced before. The steak was ok perhaps not the best Bavette I've ever had but far from bad. Rest was on point for the spend.
Staff were all really friendly, the venue was smaller and more intimate than anticipated.
A divine dining experience we had at Lagotto. The service and atmosphere are on point. Focaccia is a must that you need to order! The prawn with nduja is tasty as well (please dip the focaccia to the left over oil, yum!). The wagyu rump cap is perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Bignè (coffee and caramel) is the champion so delish and not overly sweet. The dish that we did not like that much is the tuna spagetthoni - while the pasta texture is perfect and the tuna quality is the best, the sauce is not my cup of tea. Keen to try the other pasta dish next time!
Amazing experience. Prices are high, but in line with the quality of the food, the level of service and the experience of the restaurant. This is not a place to go to every week, but a fantastic place for a special night of good food and service
Amazing! Popped in last night with two friends while visiting from Sydney and it was delicious! The service was amazing, and the food was equally great. Would recommend and we’ll definitely be back! Thank you
Really creative and unique pasta dishes. Great for smaller groups/dates especially if you're into mid-century decor. Can definitely recommend the cacio e pepe.
Dined here for lunch and ordered several dishes to try. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, offering to serve half portions for the focaccia and the pasta as the menu is designed for two.
- Wholemeal focaccia; doesn't have much of a crust but the bread was soft, stretchy and moist, drizzled with olive oil. Also comes with brown butter for some subtle sweetness; very tasty house-made focaccia
- Artichoke dish consist of braised artichoke hearts sitting on a bed of pine nut cream and topped with comte cheese and fried artichoke crisps; it's mild tasting, nutty, earthy and refreshing
- Saffron spaghettoni; perfect al dente pasta, sauce was rich and sticks to the pasta so each bite was packed with flavour, balanced with some lemon to cut through the fattiness. Tuna was fresh, soft and meaty. Even at half portion it was quite substantial, very good value
- Swordfish coteletta; crumbed coating was thin and crispy, fish was lean, tender and meaty. Goes well with the chopped asparagus which was mixed with a herby and citrusy green sauce
- Bignè, strawberry sorbet, chantilly cream, poached strawberries; a decent dessert but the strawberry sorbet seems to overpower all the other components when you eat them together
Overall enjoyed the meal; food was delicious and service was great, a bit of a wait for the bill and payment but understandable as it was getting busy towards the end. Highly recommend the focaccia and saffron spaghettoni which was very tasty and great value for the portion size.
Food was absolutely delicious, great selection of wine and staffs were all super friendly and attentive, we had an amazing time there and will definitely return!
My partner and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at Lagottos. The service was fantastic and the timing of food service was great, not rushed at all and felt like we could relax and enjoy. The food was so so yum, aside from one overtly slightly dish, everything was amazing.
A new fave!
One of my favourite pasta places in Melbourne! Highly recommended if you are pasta lover. Friendly staff and good food quality!
Visited here for dinner on a Saturday night, we chose the chefs menu and was amazed of the about of food.
The focaccia was the best I’ve ever hard and I would come back just for it.

Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in the area. Everything we tried was delicious,
Especially the honey focaccia
Truly a Melbourne gem - no better place for a long lunch. Sit in a cosy booth or at the bar for moody views of the Melbourne skyline at sunset. Cocktails are elegant, the wine list is spectacular and staff have an uncanny ability to describe wines so you can guarantee the perfect choice. Chefs dishes are often surprising but always completely delicious. Our kids also love the flavours and are addicted to his desserts.
Dined in for the Truffle with Friends. Everything was so bloody delicious and they are excellent value for money. The bread and the tortellini were to die for.
The floor and kitchen staff were all so beautiful, lovely, and friendly. Nothing to fault, highly recommend.

The chefs menu was great value - kingfish dishes were beautiful, the focaccia with burnt sage butter I could eat again and again, service extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who are delightful. Easy to find parking and lovely venue. Thank you.
Oh how delicious! What a lovely cosy space! The service was fantastic, such friendly and chatty staff. Food was fab, the menu changes regularly so it gives us more reason to return. Really well priced cocktails and the food (particularly the pasta) we ordered was awesome. Focaccia was a standout!
Such beautiful food. Italian with a bit of quirkiness and it just works! Phenomenal combination of flavours, coupled with a beautiful wine list. Just LOVE everything about Lagotto.
