Lagotto reviews
38We love Lagotto! The staff are always so welcoming and the food is seasonal and delicious. We will be back again soon:)
Excellent food and vibes, we had a great fun dining experience.
Would recommend most highly.
The pasta serving size was big compared to many similar places. Love the bread and king prawns.
Great dining experience at this restaurant! Everything we ordered was really great. My stand-out favourites were the foccacia, beef tartare and the squid ink pasta with moreton bay bug. Service and venue itself also very good, highly recommend.
Service was impeccable.the food was delicious and creative. Only downside is that the prices are abit too high for the portion size. $65 for Mayura Wagyu rump cap (first pic). I was abit disappointed for such a small piece of steak.
An incredible dining experience at Lagotto. Food and service was absolutely lovely. The focaccia was to die for along with every other dish we ate. Thank you
It is obvious that enormous effort was made for this Sunday Pasta with Friends event which takes place weekly.
A six course meal for $75, it was just exquisite. Foccacia baked on the premises with crust brushed lightly with a little honey and rosemary leaves a slightly sweet taste on the tonque.
My favourite was the skull island prawn, barely cooked, juicy and moist, I nearly swooned from the rich prawn smell and taste. All other dishes were epic too.
But please train staff to engage with lone diners to complete the experience.
Great meal, beautiful decor. Fantastic bread, with scrumptious butter, the Mushroom pasta and pumpkin tortellini were both excellent.
A new fave Italian spot with an ever-changing menu, great dining experience and excellent service.
Decent portion sizes, enjoyed all the small plates and pastas (special mention to one of the best focaccias you'll have in Melb!) I’m eager to revisit for other pastas and mains!
? ? ? ? ($8) - a must order, one of the best focaccias! Crisp outer with a dense yet fluffy crumb, a slight sweetness from the molasses glaze and smoked salt.
? ? ? ? ? ($23) - loved the two ways the artichokes were cooked. The mint, comte and cream tying it altogether.
? ? ? ($26) - creamy horseradish with sweet Tropea onions and parmigiano.
? ? ? ($40) - short squiggly hollow tubes of pasta with a velvety sauce of sausage, bittersweet cime de rapa and pecorino.
? ? ? ? ($41) - all the goodness of rich and silky cacio e pepe with guanciale and a touch of earthiness from the saltbush.
? ? ? ? ($16) - choux pastry filled with refreshing sorbet and chantilly cream.
Great restaurant in Nicholson st in Melbourne.
Great design, bright natural light during lunch, amazing service with a great wine list. Food is exceptional and tasty.
Highly recommended.
Absolutely brilliant! We were so well looked after, the dishes were put together with care and acumen, and the quality of the food was simply outstanding. Every single dish on the chef’s selection was delicious, not a single missed beat. We will come here again for sure, and spread the word. A delightful birthday dinner, thank you!
Enjoyed a well-made drink with complimentary focaccia and tomato butter - delicious! I was very impressed by the whole experience - all staff members were extremely friendly and delivered a professional service. Would love to go back for a complete dining service next time and would definitely recommend Lagotto to my family and friends.
Our group of 5 ordered pretty much everything on the menu to share and every single dish was amazing. From the steak tartare to the scallops, prawns, potatoes, bread, Moreton bay bug pasta, burrata, wagyu, squid ink with crab, pumpkin ravioli, tiramisu, wine and cocktails, everything was excellent. The staff were lovely and ran the restaurant in a smooth and non intrusive manner. Will definitely be back. Thanks.
Fresh and vibrant colours throughout the dishes match the interior setting.
Regardless whether sitting inside or out you’ll be sure to enjoy their tasty food.
Vegan off menu dishes available.
Really enjoyed our time last night.
Food is soooo delicious! I can't complain anything!
Thanks Sophia (if I remembered correctly sorry) for the BEST service!
If you're into meat, you gotta check out Lagotto Fitzroy's Mayura station (wagyu rib eye). It's seriously one of the best steaks I've ever had. The meat is super juicy and tender, and it practically melts in your mouth. Plus, it looks pretty damn impressive when it arrives at your table.
This place is SO underrated. I've been a couple of times now and both experiences were wonderful. The food here is modern Italian and every dish was top notch. Staff were friendly enough and the restaurant itself is great, have no idea how this place flies under the radar.
I've been here many a time and this place has it all, the food is delzioso, the staff are fun, knowledgeable and passionate, and the decor, wow. I popped in for pasta this evening, and they found me a spot at the bar. Thanks team.
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE
My first time trying beef tartare and i loved it! The focaccia was so good. Everything was so perfect. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough space for the pasta?
The dessert was a chef’s kiss? I was stuffed by then but upon that first mouth of ice cream, I felt hungry again. Devoured the whole ice cream, all of it️
I will be back again for the regular menu. Sundays they only have Pasta with Friends menu which is like a set lunch menu.
We were so excited to try this place having heard rave reviews from friends, but unfortunately this experience fell very short of expectations. While the service was good, the food was a let down and both pasta dishes were undercooked - there is much better in the neighbourhood at the same price point.
