La Trobe University Medical Centre

I don’t recommend booking an appointment in this clinic, Dr Lam and Dr Memon are very inconsiderate and seems like they don’t really care about their jobs; I recommend Dr Yuen, he is someone very reasonable and friendly. As a student at La Trobe I believe they should care more about a good healthcare service.

I had a serious concern with the conduct of Dr. E. L. I won't disclose the details here but I have reported to AHPRA and they are looking into my notification. If anyone has any concerns I urge you to take some time and notify AHPRA.

I found the staff at La Trobe University Medical very friendly, attentive and efficient. In particular, the practice nurse has a lot of experience/knowledge and ensured my visits were seamless.

The wait time is here the worst I have ever seen. What's the point in making an appointment when you are going to make us wait anyway for an hour atleast? Leaving the review after visiting them like 20 times in the last 3 years. Highly not recommended.

The absolute worst doctors you will ever go through, just go up the road to the bulk billed clinic in summerhill.
The doctors are rude, dismiss your concerns, late minimum an hour for appointments and had out antibiotics for absolutely everything.
You want a pathologist who cant find a vein for the life of them? Congrats you found your place!

Waited over 1 hour for my appointment. At no point was I informed the Dr was running late. Following the appointment that took no more than 3 minutes I had blood tests taken by clinical labs and was told the test would be bulk billed as I was a student. Well, turns out this isn't the case and the test I had was $55. Not impressed.

Dr Edward Lam was terrible. Very condescending and spoke down to me my whole appointment. Didn't feel comfortable to voice my concerns and he clearly has no compassion. I am a nurse and am used to doctors speaking down to me at work but was not expecting that from a doctor from a patients point of view. Would not recommend at all and I will not be returning. The lady in pathology was also very unprofessional and didn't speak a word to me, the health care professionals in this medical centre need serious training on compassion and communication skills.
On a high note, the receptionist Maddie was extremely lovey and helpful.

The worst medical centre ever. For a medical centre at a university, the level of quality from every aspect, cannot be any worst. Extremely disappointed with how the university is providing with such an important service in such an absolute unprofessional manner.

I had a wonderful experience getting my COVID shot at Latrobe Medical Centre. Michael Yuen provided exceptional service, displaying professionalism and expertise throughout the process. The nurse who administered the injection was not only skilled but also incredibly friendly, which helped ease any apprehensions I had. I truly appreciate the excellent care and attention I received during my visit.

Doctor is extremely rude. Worst service of my life. He hung up on me during a phone consult when I was asking for results.

The appointment time is only a suggestion so prepare to wait around an hour to see a rude doctor who won’t do anything you ask for

Went here for a medical appointment.
Was told I would get the injection at the same time.
I filled out the forms and they did not put them into the system or give the person the details for me to be able to get the injection.

So now I have to find somewhere else to get the injection.

Useless reception staff, the can't even do their job!

Avoid this place at all costs!

Waited for over an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment to see the doctor. Finally just had to leave because I had other commitments. Absolutely disgraceful. Will never be back and highly recommend nobody bothers with this clinic

The worst clinic I’ve ever visited. I waited around 60 minutes to see the doctor, and I’ve been seen by another because apparently he was busy. I only need a prescription for an inhaler I used for my asthma which I’ve been using it for years. I got lectured about how irresponsible I’m walking around with possibility of having Covid-19’s. I’m asthmatic so I’m used to having difficulty breathing my entire life. If I suspect even slightly that I might be sick, I will fear for my children safety first. He kept on and on and not listening to me walking around opining the door and the window and wearing his face shield advising me of taking vaccines and tests saying he doesn’t care if I’m ok just take the Covid test. God I only need a prescription.

I did not like speaking to the receptionist as she came across very rude and extremely unhelpful, ending the phone call saying I have the wrong place. I think she could have worded what she was saying better to sound helpful.

Waited over an hour to see the doctor despite having made an appointment. Receptionist claimed doctor was running “late”…. Understandable if this is the case, but take the courtesy to call patients to attend the clinic an hour later than schedule!

I'm very dubious about the 5star ratings for this practice as I was abused by a female doctor at this clinic, I was very unimpressed and will never go here again. Pathetic.

Absolutely pathetic doctors here. They don't listen to their patients and are very rude, especially Dr. Edward Lam. Once, I went in for a only a check up and he ranted for an hour about covid and government issues. Another time he wouldn't order requested blood tests for me and barked at me so I just picked up my things and left. Never going back.

Have had great service here but good luck trying to get an appointment! Nobody answers the phone and the on-line booking system has not been working.
