La La Land Chapel

Meant to stop in for 1 drink, however Adam's company was too great to pass up and ended up staying until close. He really took care of us and appreciate how efficient he was behind the bar. Will be coming back.

Love this place, great food, comfy seats, best drink would definitely be the mojito jug. Has improved 10 fold since we were last here.

We're arrived around midnight and the bouncers weren't so judgemental about what we were wearing so we got in. People were friendly, the couches were comfy and we had so really good conversations. Love the warm atmosphere. The place was packed with people just having a good time.

This bar is absolutely stunning.

Beautiful old Chesterfield sofa lounges. Open fire places. Dark red interiors.
The decor is a cocktail for the eyes.

As for the service, we were served by a very knowledgeable and friendly cocktail barman.

The drinks were stunning and I wish I lived in Melbourne, so that this place could become my regular haunt.

Can't recommend it highly enough

Just had my 30th birthday party here. I hired the backroom function area which has recently been renovated. Couldn't of been more happier of how the night went. The staff were all so lovely and easy going and included the happy hour drink specials within my bar tab. All my guest raved on about how great the venue was and how accommodating the staff were. If you were wanting to hire a function. 100% would recommend here. Thanks again La La Land <3

Depending on the day, the atmosphere can be different! One day it's very chill and cosy and the other you get scanned by the bounsers as if you looked like a cockroach and can't get in! The cocktails are really good!

Lovely little bar on Chapel. Great décor, comfy chairs, and quality ambiance.
If you want a bar that has a vibe going, but isn't so loud you can't hear your group, this is the spot.

Only docked points as the drinks menu could be a bit more expansive. Limited spirits, beers, wines on show, if you're looking for something a bit higher quality you'll perhaps be left wanting more.

I live on Chapel and I would say this is my favourite place to stop and have a drink especially during the colder months. The open fire place definitely sets the mood along with the funky beats

We came down Sunday and as beautiful as the venue is, the service is terrible. The staff chat amongst each other instead of serving (even though the place had around 4 patrons total), are exceptionally dismissive and rude upon having the inconvenience of having to talk to customers.
To top it off.after ordering the same round 5 times, the price changed each time. $47 for 2 wines and a basic spirit? That's obscene.
Venues are all recovering from the Covid drop and you would expect that staff would be working hard to be welcoming and at the very least, consistent and honest with drink pricing.
Very disappointing experience. With the sheer amount of great venues close by.maybe look at your service so that the doors can stay open.

The couches and lighting are super lovely, the pricing is fair and the vibe is good, but the Lemon Pie cocktail is what keeps us coming back! Our favourite spot on Chapel for a relaxed drink with a small group.

Leah and Taruka were fantastic, great service and good people. Just what we were looking for. 100% better than the union hotel. Leah and Taruka were welcoming and great hosts. Love this business

The bartender was grumpy and annoyed to to serve us although the place was almost empty at 6pm on a Friday night.

Ordered something off the Happy Hour menu and was told that the happy hour wasn't happening today, although there was a giant sign on the wall saying 'Everyday Happy Hour 4-7pm'?

Ordered a rum and ginger ale only to be told there wasn't any ginger ale available.

Wont be coming here again.

Neat and cozy. A bit loud for a place like that. But overall, it's one of the best joints in Chapel Street for a cold rainy day for sure.

Friendly bar staff, great seating areas however the tiny bar size makes it hard to order drinks and Muppets on a Friday/Saturday night like to crowd the area preventing others from ordering from time to time.

Great bar. Love the happy hour (4-7pm), excellent service, cool cocktails and comfy seats to kick back in!

Not my favorite spot. The couch and loveseat by a fire is a cool concept, but the cocktails did not deliver. Kamikazee tasted like pure lemon, and was served straight up which offered no relief. The dark and stormy was a bit better, but it's also hard to mess up rum and ginger.

And although the alternative seating is somewhat trendy it's also inefficient. We had to squeeze into a tight corner because smaller groups were monopolizing the larger clusters of couches.

Music was good, quality old school hip hop. But the bartender seemed a bit annoyed that we we're ordering cocktails. Didn't try the food, so I would consider giving it another shot.

We love this place! However, red flannel-shirt guy's arrogant attitude towards customers and laziness made it difficult for us to buy anymore drinks. So we had to leave.

For good.

Nice and easy-going bar with great drinks, cool lounge chairs, and slightly sticky carpets. Also there's a cattle head mounted on the wall wearing a leather hat so that's definitely got to count for something.

One of the best bars around, however sometimes the music is a bit too loud to have a good chat.

The owner of this bar also owns Blue Bar, Mothers Milk, Electric Lady Lounge and many others.
