The Chef, pays the same amount of attention if not more as he makes each person feel welcome.
He assist your through menu and offers his own personal recommendations with wine selection.
He certainly knows what he talking about.
The menu is exceptional and well balanced.
The menu well thought of with the 2 choice course option over the 3 courses was Excellent to say the least.

Geelong's standard in fine dining.

I have had the pleasure of eating at Matt and Joanna's; La Cachette a handful of times now, and it would have to be my favourite restaurant in Geelong.

They offer world class food, wine and service at a an accessible price, showcasing local foods from the extended regions of Geelong, the Bellarine, Surfcoast and Otways.

The ever changing menu (every 3 weeks), stays always in season and leaves you not only excited to see what they have on offer for every next menu, but yearning to try more.

Highly recommend not driving and leaving the wine selections in Matt's hands, he has a wine list that is hard to be matched in the region.

He has opened my eyes up to many different varieties of grapes, blends and wine making methods and never once not blown my mind.

This is a must for anyone in the region who wants to try something world class in hospitality, or for tourists in the area wanting to try what the region has for offer, as it is conveniently located on Geelong's waterfront.

Have had the pleasure of dining here a number of times. It is always a wonderful experience. From the moment we open the door until we close it as we leave, we always feel like welcome guests. The Floor Staff are amazing: attentive, helpful and so knowledgeable. And then there is the wine-list! It is one of the most exciting I have seen in Australia. But the experience is topped off by the gorgeous food. Sitting at the bar we love watching the two Chefs in the open kitchen prepare one of the most exciting menus of dishes that are visually stunning and incredible to eat. We have even had the Chef and Sous Chef deliver our food or explain the joys of a particular wine they have selected to be on the list. Without doubt, this is the best restaurant in Geelong.

An undiscovered gem.

Some of the most interesting and unique food I’ve eaten. And to think that it’s tucked away down an alley in Geelong!

For the price the small menu offers the best value.

And to top it off, we found out on leaving that they change the menu every three weeks! We shall be back when we are next down from Melbourne.

The food was stunning! First week of their new menu. The wine list was outrageously good and ultra-affordable, and the serving staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. We felt like we were special guests from the moment we opened the door. We will definitely be back for the next menu, in 3 weeks.

FANTASTIC! Food and service were outstanding, Wine selection was amazing, of the 7 dishes I cannot choose a favourite! Has to be in the top 1 of restaurants in Geelong. Loved it can't wait to go back ASAP.
