An absolute gem of a place with some of the best French inspired food I’ve had in Victoria. Amazing produce (including some authentic French imports), impressive drinks menu, and well executed, generously portioned, creative dishes that change every 3 weeks. The team were also incredibly friendly and hospitable. Make it a must-visit if you’re in Geelong!

Intimate high quality restaurant. All the food was painstakingly house made and authentic. Some of the items which sounded mundane were actually delicious (their flavours and textures belied their descriptions on the menu).
There were little nuances and elements that elevated the dishes.
The service was personal, warm and professional.
La cachette love their French cheeses and wine. There is a passion to the food prep that comes across as authentic French cuisine.
Only drawback is that they don’t make coffee. Otherwise excellent dining experience which surprised on the upside. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic dining experience. The food was full of taste explosions in my mouth. The staff were fabulous and attentive without being annoying. Wonderful family restaurant. Recommend booking several weeks ahead. Well worth it. No photos. Ate everything. Menu changes every 3 weeks.

Found this little gem. It was fantastic. Tried and shared all that was on the menu between the two of us. No fault on any of the six dishes. Commend the service and the chefs.we will be back

Nothing short of superb! We had an amazing time at La Cachette last night. The food was perfection! A few of things items weren’t things that we would normally have chosen and I’m so glad we got to, and it was to die for. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend enough for a lovely night out

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Geelong. The service is very attentive, and the food is divine.

Food was great, would like to have this place closer to where I live to try their new menu which I understand changes every three weeks. Will be back when in Geelong again.

It’s a tiny little gem hidden behind the foreshore, but it shines with brilliance!
Where do I start?
We had the pleasure of witnessing all the actions behind the bar, staff were non stop, wiping down the preparation area, cleaning up the dishes… etc.
The service was pleasant, prompt and always with a smile.
The food was delicious and well presented.
The restaurant is small (~25 seats?), but well spaced, clean and lovely ambiance.
Everyone has their primary jobs but help each other out. The chef was serving us with one of the courses and cleaned the dishes few minutes later.
For some reasons, every staff had a smile on every single time they served. I couldn’t help to notice all staff had their hair neatly tied/ done up. It shows their attention to detail!
Knowing the menu changes every 3 weeks, we’ll be back soon ;)

What can I possibly add to all the accurate comments? This is a gem. A small restaurant delivering refined cuisine and big reviews. The wine list (I'm very knowledgeable) was eclectic beyond anything I have seen anywhere in recent years.

Thanks for our lunch at La Cachette. We loved it. The service was grand and friendly.
The food was special, starting with peas in flowers held together with a very special cheese. This dish was the perfect start to spring day meal.

The next course was a very special rosette of fish served with all types of asparagus. Of course this was all resting in a very delicate sauce and was very tasty.

The delicious salad also worked well with this fish. To finish I enjoyed a magnificent dessert. Basil mousse and three types of strawberries.

Pretty rare that a restaurant meets my expectations. La Cachette exceeded them by a long way. What a coup for Geelong to have such a world class dining experience. An absolute must for any gastronome.

Gr8 food and attention to detail. Was disappointed as restaurant was advertised as on the waterfront, which it wasn't. It was down a side street so couldn't view the water.

Fantastic food. We were looking for somewhere special and we certainly found it. Interesting and delicious food and friendly people.

Some music tunes inside would be great that way you dont have to listen to others talking.

But apart from that great little spot hidden away from everyone.

The best local produce, inspired combinations and silky sauces - perfection. Peas and beans fresh from the pod under a wafer of white cheese, light and dark pork in one cutlet, fresh and preserved strawberries in their own juice, the counterpoint was delightful. A seasonal menu and a truely eclectic wine list. Book well ahead.
