Tastiest affordable breakfasts out! The line gets big as the space is small so better arrive as early as you can

Went there lunch time today just to find out they are away for holiday and closed for one week? Great business they've got here.

Simply the best Hk milk tea and food in Mel, much better than other cafe in Boxhill and Clayton, but need to check their Instagram for opening hours ahead

High quality HK style food, reasonable priced, only complaint is every single time after 30 mins driving, 30 mins queue, what I want to order always sold out.come on it’s before 2 pm

Great HK style cafe in the Eastern suburbs. Good food, good drinks. Love their set menu, good value for money.

Usually a queue here on weekends. The wait isn't too bad as people don't tend to stay too long.

The garlic pork chop rice was good with generous amount of pork and the rice tastes fresh, unlike some places that the rice tastes like leftover stale rice. The ice milk tea was also nice. It would be better if they have more meal combos. The cafe is pretty small, so do expect a queue during rush hours.

There will always be a line but it's worth the wait for authentic HK cuisine. The sets they have are always worthwhile. The baked rice dishes are fantastic. Can't go wrong with Kowloon Cafe 866

I used to go this place often for its authentic HK taste and good price.
More people have known this place, therefore more and more queue in front of the restaurant.
However, it is not convenient for customers for their sudden closing without notice like last grand final weekend, they did not open the whole weekend.
Today I went there again, noticed they upgraded their menu with the price raising. Also long queue outside during afternoon tea time. So I wanted to order takeaway, surprisingly they said they don’t do takeaway today.
Okay, I see fame brings money and brings them courage to say No to customers.

For people who are trying to find a substitute restaurant, I would recommend 嘉禾餐厅 in Doncaster, which is also a good value restaurant with breakfast and afternoon tea set. Better price with more spacious and comfort seat.

A great little restaurant located just 5 minutes drive south of Box Hill Central. Very authentic taste of Hong Kong cuisine, such as "milk tea" and "french toast". Food are reasonably priced, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they accept credit card payment (including AMEX). It has already attracted quite a lot of fans, so be prepared to queue if you visit during peak hours. Finding parking could also be a problem, but it is well worth the effort.

If you are looking for authentic HK cuisine, THIS IS THE PLACE!
Authentic HK-Style Iced milk tea, HK cafe style food! "MUST TRY" with their Signature Milk Tea! Chilli Pepper Chicken Wing, Satay Beef noodles, Pineapple bun and French Toast! Got to say they are the BEST among Boxhill and Doncaster area!

Can be crowded. Pay at the register. All-in-all, Hong Kong style Cha Chaan Teng serving good quality food that's cheap. I had instant noodles with satay beef, ham omlette with toast and hot milk tea for $12. Good enough for me.

Got to say this place is one of the best place to try hk milk tea. More authentic than 香港茶餐厅,糖潮,名茶. There is really nothing negative about the milk tea.

The food wise, I picked steak rice with black pepper sauce, meat is decent, rice is cooked with slight hardness than usual cafes which gives a better balance in chewing, most cafes masher the rice too soft which loses the texture that rice should have. Also the sauce is given in a generous portion, but just a little too much pepper, that gives the sauce a slight over taste if spiciness. Tried two times with the same dish, tastes exactly same so hence the missing star. But overall it is a very suitable place for lunch and afternoon tea. With decent food and drinks.
(was in a rush to eat this time, will upload photos next time.)

Good fried chicken wings. Very busy which is a good sign but kinda cramped and a little messy. Not bad for the price.

Absolutely terrible. Disorganised restaurant and they just ignore you. They have zero seating systems and just let anyone take seats despite people in front waiting. Lunch is expensive compared to Box Hill standards and they have better service there. Why should I go here when it’s disorganised, messy and expensive?

Authentic Hong Kong cafe for when you are craving a great and nostalgic Hong Kong breakfast, or food in general. Food is reasonably priced.

Went there few times always closed for holiday or so. Wasted my time and empty stomach in thought of having breakfast. Been there once and the food was quite good. But their boss likes holiday, so if you are going, please visit their facebook page and they will announce which date they will be opening.

Busy little Hong Kong Cafe with some classic HK Cafe dishes.
Decently priced with a good selection plus specials. Their breakfast choice seems solid with macaroni and stay beef noodles as well as toast.

Their other choices are a bit hit and miss. Ive had the yeung chow fried rice and sadly it did not include salted fish. The ice lemon tea is also a bit weak and does not include enough lemon or sugar.

Other then that if your in for a quick bite of HK Cafe food stick to the daily special or lunch set and you'll be fine.

As for hygiene. I've seen some of their spoons with food still on them. I've also noticed that my clothes end up smelling which I suppose is because of bad ventilation.

Worth it if your looking for decent HK Cafe dishes, miss it if your looking for quality and hygiene

This restaurant is absolutely filthy, dirty and hazardous. The Occupational Health and Safety for this cafe is unsatisfactory. The back entrance door walkway is basically a carpet of oil drenched on the concrete ground with large cans surrounding, inviting customers to experience slips and falls. Absoulutely UNSAFE! This cafe is in need of a restaurant industry risk assessment. Warning, especially for the babies and older people, avoid coming to this cafe as it has no health and safety. Not to mention, the cafe inside is squished and unventilated. And to top it off, there's a waiter there (probably some sort related to the boss) has no customer service qualities and has good skills to drive customers away and collect money, either than that don't expect anything else from him. Apalling!
