I sure do love me some Kowloon Cafe, however I'm very interested in the business dealing that caused the restaurants to split off and most of them have a now changed name. Interested indeed.

Fully packed when we got there. The dishes brought back some fond memories from distant past. Order the daily special for better value.

Only reviewing the macaroni soup lunch set, it was bland like eating macaroni cooked in water with some pieces of ham thrown in, zero flavor. Like most Hong Kong restaurants, the customer service has a lot to be desired.

My favourite place for sweet and sour pork on rice! The Hong Kong milk tea is probably one of the best in Melbourne. The salt & pepper chicken wings are delicious - must try!
Service is average and it’s a small cafe so can be crowded during lunch hours especially on weekends. Long queues up to 30-45 min.

Everyone need to try steak with black pepper sauce and salted pepper chicken wings.they’re so yummy. The milk tea is smooth and not strong ️️️

Kowloon Cafe 866 in Box Hill is a fantastic gem of a restaurant that cannot praise enough. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warm inviting atmosphere and the smell of delicious food wafting from the kitchen. The decor is stylish and modern with clean lines and tasteful furnishings and there's plenty of space for both big groups and intimate dates. The food at Kowloon Cafe 866 is excellent. Whether you're in the mood for a classic dim sum breakfast a tasty lunch of roast meat and noodles or a few delicious small plates to share with friends you're sure to find something to your liking. Everything is freshly made with quality ingredients and the flavors are spot on. But perhaps the best thing about Kowloon Cafe 866 is how busy and popular it is with locals. This is a testament to the quality of the food and the service. Even though it can get quite busy the staff are always friendly and attentive and the wait time is never too long.highly recommend Kowloon Cafe 866 to anyone in the Box Hill area looking for a great meal in a welcoming setting.

Very busy shop serving Hong Kong style breakfast.
Serving generous portion sizes, the baked rices is a go to.

Nice food with reasonable price, just a little of wait time but bearable. Attentive service and food serve in time.

Great place, authentic Hong Kong dishes and milk tea, must have. Good early to have a seat and avoid waiting, around 11: 00 am.

A very reasonable Hong Kong style cafe. Food is good value and portion sizes are pleasing for Hong Kongers. Milk Tea is one of the better ones and this Kowloon cafe is better than the one on the city.

Best Hong Kong char chan teng in Melbourne! Their baked cheese rice is absolutely superb - you can order any sauces such as ketchup, Portuguese, curry or garlic and pair that with pork or chicken chop on a bed of fried rice. You will not be disappointed. They also have all the hk classics like macaroni soup, polo bun, french toast, curry fish balls and milk tea to complete your meal. Only negative is it their limited seating capacity so there is often a queue and wait.

Got my orders wrong a few times. Even after confirming my order for chicken cutlet they still serve me diced chicken. So disappointing.

Definitely the best HK-style café I’ve been to in the area! Limited seating and usually has a queue, which is only a testament to its popularity. Would recommend for a taste of Hong Kong!

The fried chicken wings tasted very yummy, not oily, full of flavour.
I ordered the ice milk tea which was very good too. I had the satay beef with noodles, beef are soft but tender.
Some menu is not written in English, a complain from my Aussie fiancé. But he likes the food there too just can’t read some of the Chinese menu. Surely we will go there again!

Food is authentic HK style and both the ice lemon tea and ice milk tea are one of the best you can get in Melbourne.

Not the most comfortable place to dine in as the restaurant is very small and don't expect a smile from the waitress taking your order.

The Lunch special menu on the white board $16.5 = one of the normal menu + drink price. Its NOT special in terms of price
Food is ok

港式茶餐廳 有地道風味

A great Hong Kong-style restaurant, the staff has always been warm and sincere to the customer’s service attitude, and the prices and quality of the meals and beverages have a certain level of performance.
Recommend pineapple buns with fresh butter! Hong Kong-style milk tea! That’s original HK Style!

Poor service tbh and the food was just mediocre. Not sure why it is very highly rated but did not feel the same when I go there. Felt disappointed and I believe I wont go there again.

The dine in service was good. However, the takeaway service was poor. The phone number was cut off when I wanted to order takeaway. Then as I went into the resturant I waited for 15 minutes and when it was finally my turn they said they are not doing anymore takeaway as there are many people waiting to dine in (it was around 12: 30 pm). They did not inform us that there is going to be no takeaway service beforehand and the person in front of me has just ordered their takeaway. I can't understandwhy can't they take my order. Wasted almost half an hour.

Biased review, love their Pineapple Bun with Butter, French Toast and their Salt Pepper Chicken Wings.
Food is good, place is small, barely any amenities. Staff is good though. Food is worth it.
