Kerabu reviews
52Red curry duck was phenomenal and very well served. Couldn’t recommend the Sang Choy Bow as an entree more. And for the spice lovers, Prawn Tom Yum is a no-brainer. BYO is also a plus with a small charge per person.
This little gem is brilliant. We met friends and did BYO and our meal cost $40pp. Seriously- not 3 courses but more than enough - the duck salad and duck curry our favs. Local treasure I'm not sure why we always try think of something new to try because Kerabu always is excellent and easy.
I'm sad to relate this as this was a standout restaurant for me. I feel sorry for the upstairs staff (1 server) as she was clearly run off her feet. Service was slow to the point of being silly. One entree, one drink and two mains took about an hour and a half - an hour to get a serve of dim sims. They were no standout - not awful but not great. But the saddest part was the flavour of the duck - I had great memories of hot, flavoursome, fresh duck from my last visit (we had been there many times before and always great, but it's been about a year) but we got Luke warm, tired, tasteless, slimy (my wife's description) bird. Also, the only other main- the pad thai noodles were overcooked. Seems to be a pattern for restaurants and it's sad to experience. In case there's any mistake about this, I'm the older guy who gave the lady at the till this very feedback live. I hope you can do better. You were a great restaurant and I hope you can find this again.

Love it, love a great Asian cafe. Well this is an awesome Asian restaurant. From the first mouth full to the final morsels the tastes were wonderful.
Upstairs feels so exclusive with many round tables for a much better dining experience.
And for those who prefer to bring their own wine it's BYO. They also have their own wine if required.
Very unique yet authentic Malaysian cuisine, served in interesting fusion styles. Not your standard Malaysian dishes, yet will satisfy your hometown cravings! Nice decor for a cosy dinner place too.
Great venue, great food and service, always very busy. Need to book to be sure you enjoy Kerabu. Linda the hostess fantastic as is the entire experience
Perfect place. Food is soo good. This is the best Asian restaurant in Melbourne for now. The food gives you a fine dining feeling. If they have more liquor to choose will be better
Probably one of the best Malayasian Restaurants in Melbourne dont go on reviews this place is awesome been going there for 10 years the BEST CHEERS
A nice place, great food service was polite and good.nice variety so most palates covered here.
Dine in or TAKE away this restaurant is always full and has a Constant stream Of TAKE Away cliente. Need to book, as even locals struggle to get last minute bookings. It’s our go to restaurant, Since For ever. Our kids have loved it Since They were young (exquisite taste buds) now young adults its our favourite. You Will literally rarely be disappointed, unless you can’t get a boling. The Quality is great Of produce is delicious and staff genteel. So many recomendations on the the menu l’d be here All day. Green and red curries All great, beef slow cooked mmmm. Yet to be disappointed. The whole fish or fish fillets are delectable. Do yourself a favour and try this place. Best kept secret in Melbourne until now. Hope l can get a seat tomorrow for 7 people. Ceceilia.

Absolutely delicious Thai food that is impeccably cooked. Great balance of flavours and well thought out menu items.
Next time I go I will probably ask for more spice/chili but this time while I was with parents it was ok!
Stand outs were the whole fried Nam phrik snapper and the red duck curry and the prawns with avocado dish.
Lovely service and great being BYO as well:)

I went to Kerabu with a friend again. I felt like having fish this time and asked recommendation from the staff there. She recommended Gulai Ikan as I said I would like to have something more like Malaysian style. The fish was very well cooked with nice curry flavor. Again in large portion. Initially, my friend thought $45 was too expensive for a fish dish, but after he saw the portion and had the food, he is 100% convinced it’s value for money and he’s listed Kerabu as the restaurant he will take his mom to.

Loved Char Kway Teow, chicken Satay and duck curry. All in large portions. The staffs were nice and friendly. Will go there again!
Wow! This place is so delicious! We went with 2 couples and tried multiple dishes, they were all amazing! Special mention to the San Choi bao, Tom yum soup, green chicken curry & duck curry. Plus it’s BYO for wine. Highly recommend!
Kerabu has been a staple for us and for many other Malvern families for years, and has never failed us. The seasame duck and Javanese eye fillet are mandatory, and our neice found the red curry pumpkin and tofu to be a great dish catering to her vegetarian preferences
Waited an hour and 45 minutes for entrees with a family of 16 that had a preset menu, when the food came it was bland and not worth the wait. Wouldn’t recommend, also was not worth the money spent. Extremely expensive and not worth it
Red curry duck was fenomenal and very well served. Couldn’t recommend the Sang Choy Bow as an entree more. And for the spice lovers, Prawn Tom Yum is a no-brainer. BYO is also a plus with a small charge per person.
Food very good, rather short on staff, which is not a surprise at the moment. Definitely recommend
Absolutely fantastic every dish was delicious and service was great, we will definitely be back.
Never recommend anyone to choose this restaurant for any occasion. Staff is amazingly rude and despite of completely empty restaurants, they have a very high disrespect for customers and families waiting outside.
Staff pretends to be store manager and they offered to do takeaway in empty hours and eat outside sitting on their bench.
Amazingly surprised by the staff behaviour and last place to choose when it comes to food quality, staff behaviour and management
Very friendly staff at this restaurant which sets the whole vibe when coming in, we ordered the avocado prawn crackers as entree which were absolutely delicious and fresh. For main we got the MMM Gai chicken which was 7/10 and the pad Thai which was very yummy. The mains thing to take away from this place is the attentiveness of the staff and the great hospitality received, the food was also delicious and full of flavour. We asked for the chilli sauce because we love our chillies and the fish sauce with chilli was icing on the cake.
